When she started talking about having "trans friends" that let her call them whatever they want, I started to picture a similar situation I myself am in. I'm trans but still early-ish into my transition and I get super self conscious about my appearance. So, in public, I let people just use whatever pronoun they feel comfortable with... Having said that however, my friends will use my preferred pronouns because they know it makes me feel nice. From what Gothix said here though makes it sound like she just calls them whatever she feels like, probably to the point of dropping slurs despite how it might effect her so called "friends."
What I'm getting at is if she does have these trans-friends, she's either far more accommodating to them (thus being a form of personal bias) or she's actively being a huge piece of shit to them while thinking they're okay with her bullshit because they're too shy/insecure to bring it up. Also, how is Gothix any from of Goth? Goths are suppose to be detached from labels, enjoying life as they please because they don't care what others think. She on the other hand seems to care a whole lot about what people think of her if this debate is anything to go by...
I considered myself goth when I was in high school and a while after.. because that's how I dressed. I wouldn't consider myself goth any more per se although I will dress that way here and there. Maybe when I used to go out to goth clubs mostly... But I ventured away from that crowd a long time ago and then came back not too long ago... And oh my gods let me tell you how many Republicans and far-right leaning people are in that crowd now. To the point of blatant racism and ignorance and just making it very clear where they stood politically after standing near them for 5 minutes.... (My friend also warned me about it in the car otw there)
Needless to say, covid was a great excuse not to go out anymore.. Especially when so many people in that crowd were deniers and superspreaders... No fucking thanks.
It's definitely the "piece of shit" one based on her behavior here.
I am holding out hope it's just a name. I was in the goth scene for all my young life, up until college. We were the outsiders, we took in the marginalized and the sad.

Avallone seems like a decent dude, all in all. It definitely takes principles to walk away from that Turning Point money. Would have been much easier for him to stay in the right wing grift-o-sphere chasing that bag forever, but he did some self-crit and outgrew it. Got a lot of respect for that.

I fucking love the way Hunter approaches this. Any "debate" that's being had is won from the start because she either has to admit that he's under no compulsion to to call her what she wants to be called, or that he's entirely right to call her a conservative. It's like the rhetoric tactic of checkmate in 1 and I love it!
How is Gothix confident enough to make a political channel but be so ignorant about politics, its crazy.
The answer is hidden in plain sight; her stream is literally called 'The Grift'. She's seen the success that conservative POC have and wanted some of that action. Her channel is all about a POC validating conservative views, which the right can't get enough of and not about any honest exploration of politics or advocacy for political positions. She's there to build an audience on the right and squeeze money out of it. She even has the obligatory BS video about why she's not a progressive anymore. So she doesn't need any actual insight into politics, just the aesthetic but this means that when challenged by someone who actually has some knowledge about the topics she inevitably comes off as fragile and clueless.

Gothix seems to only know "thought cancelling" concepts, terms, and phrases. It's how she can remain so smug. I 100% believe she is this way all the time everywhere. I also have a suspicion she has an alarming number of followers who are radical feminists and women of color who are genuinely disaffected. It's the attitude she brings. The right likes her because she is "well spoken" and can speak to those people who are generally frustrated with the farther left who become condescending.

The way Gothix is makes me uncomfortable because it’s literally the racist stereotype of a sassy black women that I grew up seeing. Her personality makes me cringe. It hurts me in the pit of my stomach. Watching her content literally feels like someone punched me in the stomach.
I'm so proud of Hunter. Both him and I had our terrible conservative phases, and I watched him and found him a voice of reason against the sOcIaL jUsTiCe WaRrIoRs. But we both started changing around the same time!!
After my shift, I was hesitant to watch him still, but seeing stuff like this and hearing Jake speaking positively about him makes me know he's definitely changed and has some great takes now.
I was reading her chat while this debate was going on. They dont seem to understand how hunter's points pertained to the conversation. If they are new to the subject and they actually want to learn about it it may take sometime for them to come around and really have a discussion about it. Took me a while to understand it too.

she has an old soul; that of a boomer who watches Fox and so on...there's a big problem with this 'personality trait' where the person in question lacks the skill of active listening. The listening they do is faked, a tell I'm picking up on is the pattern of not being able to repeat what they heard. Its something we all need to practice doing. When done poorly, the person makes up for it by projecting their ideas as confidently/loudly as possible, or having many other obnoxious habits.

Her attitude about using the correct pronouns reminds me of my narcissistic ex girlfriend. You don’t deserve their respect until you meet some arbitrary standard that 1) they get to set and 2) always changes if you come anywhere close to meeting it. It actually does stop people from living life. If everyone treats them like a ghost, they are never allowed to live and engage respected as themselves. People say respect is earned just for the criteria to not include respecting trans people. No way of earning respect. People who are not trans think they get to decide, what name someone goes by, how someone should be referred to, how they get present themselves. Things that were feminine identifiers like dresses, and make up, breasts all of a sudden aren't the expression of a woman. How many normal genuinely want to be women and pursue that. Change themselves to experience what its like to be a woman. You guys set the rules of social boxes of men and women.
