At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

That was good buy on the winch with all the extras it came with.
Agreed
Thanks for watching
The most perfect unboxing video I've ever seen, thank you.
Just the right amount of detail…
Thanks for watching
Sounds like your lucky day. Free winch? Sign me up! love your non unboxing. (Hope we didn't miss too much) ! Now if you can get a wireless remote control you can sit in the tractor and steer while pulling with the winch. I have stuck my 1025r in the mud and used my HF remote control on my quadrunner to pull me out while driving the tractor st the same time.
I almost forgot. I did have a receiver mount installed on the front of my 2500 Ram pick-up. I like it!
It’s always a good day when you get new equipment.
Thanks for watching
I agree with Brad Meyer; another great video. I also like the way you do videos from an average persons perspective. I'm glad you skipped the unboxing. Some people spend half the length of the video unwrapping parts and pieces. Warn makes a great winch. In 2000 my father purchased a 2,000lb Warn winch for $500 to put on his new quad and I have always been impressed with how much weight it will pull. I purchased a BadLand 2,000lb winch from Harbor Freight for $50 to put on my quad to raise and lower the front blade. It will do that task but not much more at all; but hey it was $50. Warn is a premium winch but you pay premium $$$. Your purchasing decision matrix is similar to mine....what will he it's intended purpose? will it perform said task? how often will I use it? how long do I think it will last with the intended use and frequency of use? and finally $$$. If I think I will use something often I will pony up the money and something that I know will work without fail. If it is light use and not very often I will look at less expensive options. With your content and style you will get to 100,000 subscribers in the blink of an eye!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Badlands Winch for context.
And thanks for supporting the channel
💥 Looks like a great winch! Those Warns are too spendy for me. Yikes!
*Keep on tractoring!*
Thanks for stopping by the channel. I don’t use a Winch often enough to justify the high price tag on their premium winch
I love my Champion generator. Great products.
Agreed. I had left mine out in the rain for over a year including the freeze cycles in the winter
I got it out to make a video about trying to get it to start and it literally fired on the first pull even with the old gas
That’s the kind of reliability you need in a backup power source
I have a small champion 5000 pound winch on my little Nissan 4x4 and it is impressive saved my ass multiple times
Thanks for sharing
I got the X-Bull 13,500lb synthetic rope last year. Got everything needed for quick set up with my pick up or tractor. This will be the year for testing. Looking forward to it.
Awesome. Even if you don’t need it very often it is sure handy when you do need it
Thanks for watching
I like the honest reviews, keep the good videos coming..
Thanks
The unboxing comment of "hope you didnt miss too much" had me laughing almost spilled my coffee lol!
It doesn’t always come across in video but I am a grade A smart***
@@RockhillfarmYT awesome! We would get akong great lol
Another good video. Appreciate your honest reviews of equipment and approaching it from an average person's need. I like watching you succeed and fail, which I'm able to learn from both. Keep up the informative videos.
Thank you sir
Perfect timing for a review as my winch on my truck failed and i would prefer not to pay Warn prices if i can avoid it. I look forward to seeing in action!
I intend to show it in some more upcoming videos. Thanks for watching
A great first impressions review Brock! But, I was really looking forward to a lengthy description of the best blade to use to open a cardboard box, and a slow-mo shot of cutting carton tape. But you keep trying, you'll get there!
I could’ve played the jaws music while opening the box and made it cinematic
I learned my lesson when I did the unboxing on the Artillian tool rack.
It’s a great tool storage system but the video is 20 minutes of me taking stuff out of boxes. Pretty much unwatchable
Badlands winches from harbor freight are tried and true. The off-road groups I'm in on Facebook have a great reviews and most went from name brand to the badlands line. No complaints and hold up just as well or better 👍👍
Good to know
Ha ha! Thanks for sparing us the unboxing! Never quite understood the fascination with that. I appreciate your honesty about the sponsorship -- I really didn't notice the fine print, but good to know you are able to give your honest opinion on their product.
Thanks for watching
Good review and introduction of this unit, Brock. I've been really impressed with Champion's equipment. Looking forward to seeing you use it more.
Thank you sir
Champion really has some great products, now Let's put it to the test Brock. lol
I’ve been happy with what I have bought from them. That day is coming when I try to break this thing by overloading it
Thanks for watching
“I took it out of the box…and I put the box over there”. Bahahahahaha!!! and I’m still trying to figure out your safety violation for this video too!! 😂😂. Great set up Brock. Two winches are always better than one. The Champion winch is a great value that is complete with all accessories vs. the Warn induced scavenger hunt post purchase.
Yeah, if you don’t run a winch every day this is probably a heck of a deal for $650 with everything included
Nice review. Thanks for all the work you do to bring us great videos.
Thank you
Ok, what do you think about the Vivor winch? Are you gonna do a follow up on your champion winch?
I’ve been thinking about getting one for my sons Jeep
Price looks good but I haven’t used one
I hope you are doing well
Winch ratings are based on a pulley, if you've got a snatch block you can get closer to the actual rated power. Without the snatch block you're closer to half that.
Huge warn guy, I've owned them on my Jeep for more years than I can count. Champion has been doing some good stuff though. I've got a generator from them and it's been great.
Also... Champion makes winches now?
I didn’t know it either. But with the price difference I decided they were worth a shot
Thanks for sharing your experience
I think there are aftermarket wireless winch controllers, possibly universal, not 100% sure. Once you go wireless it is hard to go back.. so convenient you could sit in what you are pulling while winching. Or be 100ft away and be able to spool out more rope if needed. Just a thought. Great video as always.
Yeah, I definitely want a wireless controller
Thanks for watching and commenting
Good comparison video. Overall I’ve been disappointed in most electric winches, but I guess I was expecting too much from them. I really want to come up with a hydraulic winch to run from my remotes on the tractor. Hope the new Champion serves you well!
I was disappointed in my first electric winch so I got a bigger one.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if I’m disappointment with it as well.
They make logs sliding winches for your three point Hitch But the ones I’ve seen are $4000 or more so I’m out on that
Thanks for watching
That's a solid 'initial impressions' video, Brock. Thanks for putting it together.
I've also had good luck with Champion products, so would be inclined to buy other items from them. I'm toying with the idea of picking up a chipper. I hope that's the other product that Champion sent out to you for review!
It is not. They let me pick the second item and I already have a three point Chipper for the Tractor and didn’t want to duplicate
@@RockhillfarmYT Such is life. I'm looking forward to seeing the 2nd review video anyway!
I appreciate your following along
I say skip the Permanente truck mount on the truck.
Unless you have a 12,000 pound anchor that you can place exactly where you need it under any circumstance .
There
Are many winching math vids on RUclips, you should watch them.
Most will teach you about snatch blocks and line wrapping.
A winch is only as good as it's anchor point
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. I’m still undecided about putting one on the bumper
Just so you know champion doesn't make winches or generators, the are a long Defunct American name that is now used to sell baicckly who knows what china brand . That sed sometimes you luck out with a china brand sometimes you dont. I have A Harbor freight Chinese 2 stroke 900 W generator that I bought as a throwaway for one job over 10 years ago and it still runs.
I didn’t know anything about the history of the company. Thanks for sharing
