Woodturning - Pecan Camping Cup

- Опубликовано: 25 окт 2024
- For this week’s project I have to make a new cup for Harry. I’ll use off-center turning as well as multi-axis turning to form the handle and the cup portion out of pecan. These can work great for scoops or camping cups. You can add a bit of leather and a button to add a loop for a belt or carabiner.
Since this wood ended up being spalted I’d recommend it only for a scoop for dry goods and avoid any liquid.
Harry and I would like to thank you all for subscribing and watching our journey on RUclips. 2021 has been an amazing ride so far! We both wish you a Happy Holidays and a prosperous 2022!
Thank you all for watching! I’ve got some other exiting news which I’ve yet to announce in a video but I’ve created a website. Please go and check it out if you’re interested in purchasing any turnings which I’ve created!

Getting the beaver poops.... Harry doesn't know what he's in for!!!
Beautiful piece!!!
The opening dialogue cracked me up. “...why didn’t you just throw out the alcohol? ........I didn’t think of that.” Honestly, although I really enjoy watching you turn stuff, the banter with Harry is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to your channel.
Glad to hear that Adam! It's always nice to have a beaver in your life!
Wonderful Robert..... Don't let Harry eat this one!!
Well I think he'll be hesitant to drink his lone drinking glass! Thanks for watching!
This is really beautiful! The grain is so pretty!
As always; magnificent turning. Loved the cup and the video. Smashing
great job ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,give the beaver a nice big drink lol
I’m with Harry, throw out the cups and keep the alcohol! Obviously Robert can make cups easy enough and distilling spirits is not legal for the general public! Probably one of the finest projects I’ve watched on RUclips and definitely the MOST ENTERTAINING!
Haha Michael! Thanks for such a nice compliment!
Great Hodge Podge, a very refreshing idea. really enjoyed the video. Thanks
Thanks so much Randy! Glad you enjoyed it!
hello friends greetings healthy and successful always. Thank you for sharing knowledge and always faithfully watching your latest stuff.👏👏
Thanks so much Jabrik as always!
Hello friend . Happy New Year, hopefully all of you will be lucky. All the family are always healthy👍
Thanks Jabrik! Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
Very nice ! Bravo!

No problem Michael! Thanks for watching!
Very nice Robert
Thanks so much Terry!
I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks. Have a great new year.
Thanks! I'm really glad you guys enjoy it!
Nice work.
Thanks Brad!
That is cool. Great work Hodge
Thanks John!
Leave it to Harry to get rid of cups instead of the alcohol. Now he can drink and eat at the same time. Sure he’ll like the taste of some whiskey flavor pecan. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing.
Whiskey flavored Pecan sounds like a tasty wood to smoke some meat with! Thanks for watching!
Nice piece, I’m sure Harry will be pleased. Best wishes for the New Year
Nice one, Robert. You should have told Harry to just go to the river and get a drink (lol). Also, if he had the beaver poops too long there wouldn't be anything left but a pelt. Take care.
Bill
Haha Bill! The little streams around my house might give him the beaver poops as well!
Great Camping Cup Robert, beware your inbox being flooded by hand carvers rebelling the automted approach hahahahaha.
Haha, uh oh! I wasn't aware I was I was venturing into a touchy subject!
Happy New Year Robert. Great looking wood and fun project.
Thanks and Happy New Year to you as well!
Very nice cup hodge something I've never tried.
Thanks Tommy! You should give it a try!
It's very nice Robert well done and have a happy new year to you and to all the family.
Thanks Laurence! Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
You should have at least 100k subscribers, I don’t get it. But I love your work please keep it up.
Wow James thanks for the compliment! 100k is a goal I hope to reach at some point!
nice, have to try it
Thank Vince! It was a good time!
Nice work Hodge...truly a cup worthy of a beaver😀...
stay safe...press on buddy 😎 Joe
Thanks Joe!
Nice Work buddy.

Beautiful little cup, Hodge! Nicely done!
Thanks Seth!
Du beau travail bravo 👍👏🇨🇭
That oughta work, Robert.
It’s beautiful, Robert. The wood is stunning. Cool cup. Take care.
Thanks so much Rob!
I've been curious how to make these. Tough to keep that piece perfectly centered with so many different mounting positions! Very nice.
Thanks David! It went fairly smoothly and if the rim is a bit thicker in one place then it's not too bad.
Nicely done Hodge. I love the cup. Looks great.
Thanks so much Doug!
Happy New Year to you Robert and thanks. Hope this year is better than the last. What did you buy Harry for Christmas? Not a beaver skin hat I hope :-)
Thanks Frederick! Besides the Yoga mat which I got him from last week I got him a whole pile of wood shavings.
Ótimo trabalho amigo, parabéns
The beaver poops!!!!
Never a pleasure thing to wake up to!
Nice job. Was expecting you to sand inside while still on lathe, and put back between centres to take of the end and the handle to almost nothing. Guess you were getting really thirsty. LOL
If I had to do it again I think I would of went down smaller with the small bits on the handle and the front of the cup and sanding the inside would of made sense. Harry was being very whiny though!
Great work pal thanks for the video 👌👌happy new year to you and your family take care
Thanks David! Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
hello-great finale of your work-greetings and invite you to yourself
Hello and thanks for watching!
Robert, it is much too nice to let Harry drink alcohol out of. Well done.
Thanks Jack! Maybe I'll just use it to scoop vegetables for him!
Very different
Thanks Michael! It gets a bit challenging on coming up with new stuff to make videos on.
Nice cup but that was a pretty big gouge for such a small handle 🤣🤣
What can I say...I'm use to handling a large tool...😉
@@HodgePodgeWoodWorks 🤣🤣
Give up alcohol? Did the beaver party too much? Have you tried mineral oil and beeswax for a finish on food grade stuff?
Yeah Harry over does it at times. I do have a bit of container of beeswax/mineral oil but thought the beeswax might effect the taste of whatever was in it. Then again, I realized it would be used for scooping dry stuff anyways since the wood was spalted.
@@HodgePodgeWoodWorks but the alcohol should kill the spalting effects anyways right?
No idea. Once I get some other wood I'll just make a new one for drinking coffee or something. I'm Harry's had worse in his mouth besides a bit if spalting.
... отличная получилась работа!-, только непонятно, что это получилось?-, ложка или куску,если кружка, то ручка у неё другая 👍😜🤭😁🤫😉👌👏🤔🥣☕🧉🥄🇷🇺👈?!!
I’m in a dire need of wood and am currently surviving on spare plywood 😭
Oh that's miserable! I've been lucky finding wood on Facebook marketplace a few times. Where are you located?
Poor Harry, beaver poops sounds awful. 🤣😂🤣
Poor Harry...poor me if I have to clean it up!
Since mineral oil is a natural laxative, I am curious as to why you have such a large jug of it….
Too much fiber and Harry gets backed up.
We love Robert.. don't know where ya found him but he's perfect. What's your address if we can figure out the best way to send your little buddy a fresh snack..😉🤤👀
Haha, my mom got me that beaver back when I was in middle school about 20 years ago. If you want to send me a message on Instagram, FB, or email I can give you my address. My email is hodgepodgeww@gmail.com.
Is this or is this not the most straight forward method of turning a kuksa. 👊
beaver poops are the worst!!!!!
