Yep. That water inlet is the first thing I look at when talking about a coolant leak on these engines. Funny enough, it was the turbo coolant hose leaking on that Cruze that helped me find your channel!
Just bought mine today. Lol same freakin issue little plastic thing broke. Coolant been leaking for who knows how many days. Glad I found out messing around with it. Then saw your video later today and yup. 😅 plastic just breaking off
If you pull the metal clip the entire piece comes out much easier. But make sure the little clip on there is actually holding the two part piece together. And but the aluminum replacement piece for the coolant distribution thingy.
I would just do that myself it's like one of the easiest thing to do on your car and it would only cost like $15-$25 or you can take it to a shop and have it done for like $75-$150 If you live around kc I'll do it for 75
@@deanfawbush9071 I'm not Alex, but are you serious? That seems ridiculous. I'm not sure about that specific car but almost all oil pans are on the bottom of the engine. All you need is a jack, jack stands, a rachet, and the new oil pan gasket. All you would do is jack the car up, put the stands up and take off all the bolts (watch a RUclips video to find the bolts you need). When you get the old pan off scrape the old gasket of the pan with a wire brush and razor blade or something don't really matter it's not to hard. Then all you have left is put the old gasket on the pan, put a few bolts back on to hold the gasket in place while you put it back on the engine, and then put all the bolts back on and your done

@@AlexTheCarDoctor I was born 87 too lmao 😂🤣 but I work on a lot of old school and it seems like the 80s was the last of the boats but the 70s Buick had everything!!
Why is the clip still in ? You know the one that holds in the coolant reservoir hose. Also it doesn’t look like you tried any harder to remove the coupler from the housing. Something smells like flat rate work😂
First of all I pay my guys hourly, so no flat rate pressure here. When I tried to remove it gently,it broke, so I secured the clip by pushing it back in to avoid loosing it.
Had the same fucking problem with my coolant reservoir and coolant housing, which is the two parts he’s talking about I had to get them both replaced on my 2017 Buick encore .
Wow designed to fail, GM finest. Dirty 🐀 rats. I'm still upset about my Traverse. My sister's Traverse and my friends Traverse. From new to used there trouble. I'm straight on them.
Out here helping the public . Alex is a great guy
Worked on one yesterday. Same bs. Did the Thermostat, and replaced ECT

Had a impala in for the same yesterday
YUP! Had to have mine replaced last week, along with two hoses. Same make, model, and year. Plastic deterioration in the housing.
Avoid GM garbage at all costs 😂
2008 was the last year for anything decently built by GM.

Replaced mine with an aftermarket aluminum outlet. OE plastic stuff is garbage.
That part is a common failure point. Had to replace the one on my dad's Cruze at like 36k miles. It's 11 years old though...they don't drive much.
👍🏿# 121! Replacing is a good idea but replace it with what? Most of the replacement parts are plastic too. 👎🏿
That hose is a bad one to break. I usually quote the tank hose and water outlet in one job
Same!
My car is at 91K miles. Good to know this ahead of time
Hey Alex, I have a 2012 Chevy express van with a 4.3 L Vortech V6 and how much could I expect to have an oil pan gasket job done on that vehicle ?

Thankfully those housings are like 50 bucks at dealer
On a drive home, my sisters Chevy Cruz temp sensor housing exploded right when we got home.
Jus an opinion but Buick hasn't been the same the 70s
I’m too young to know, as I was born in the 80’s, but I 100% believe it!

Born in mid 1970s. First car was a 1979 Buick LeSabre. Totally different engineering back then.
GM=General Mess
Thats why you ALWAYS just cut the hose when its on a pastic nipple. Easier to replace 1 foot of hose.
It’s like they design less important part, cheap parts to break when an important part starts to fail so you don’t fuck to your entire engine. Odd
I have the same car and model and problem lol
What do ya do when the motor is smoking 😂🤣
I replaced that part 4 times in 1 year 😒
