    Yep. That water inlet is the first thing I look at when talking about a coolant leak on these engines. Funny enough, it was the turbo coolant hose leaking on that Cruze that helped me find your channel!

    Just bought mine today. Lol same freakin issue little plastic thing broke. Coolant been leaking for who knows how many days. Glad I found out messing around with it. Then saw your video later today and yup. 😅 plastic just breaking off

    YUP! Had to have mine replaced last week, along with two hoses. Same make, model, and year. Plastic deterioration in the housing.

    If you pull the metal clip the entire piece comes out much easier. But make sure the little clip on there is actually holding the two part piece together. And but the aluminum replacement piece for the coolant distribution thingy.

    That part is a common failure point. Had to replace the one on my dad's Cruze at like 36k miles. It's 11 years old though...they don't drive much.

    Hey Alex, I have a 2012 Chevy express van with a 4.3 L Vortech V6 and how much could I expect to have an oil pan gasket job done on that vehicle ?

    • @shakinbottles
      @shakinbottles Год назад

      I would just do that myself it's like one of the easiest thing to do on your car and it would only cost like $15-$25 or you can take it to a shop and have it done for like $75-$150
      If you live around kc I'll do it for 75

    • @shakinbottles
      @shakinbottles Год назад

      @@deanfawbush9071 I'm not Alex, but are you serious? That seems ridiculous. I'm not sure about that specific car but almost all oil pans are on the bottom of the engine. All you need is a jack, jack stands, a rachet, and the new oil pan gasket. All you would do is jack the car up, put the stands up and take off all the bolts (watch a RUclips video to find the bolts you need). When you get the old pan off scrape the old gasket of the pan with a wire brush and razor blade or something don't really matter it's not to hard. Then all you have left is put the old gasket on the pan, put a few bolts back on to hold the gasket in place while you put it back on the engine, and then put all the bolts back on and your done

      @@deanfawbush9071 but yeah dealerships are thieves that's how they make enough money when they aren't selling enough cars that month or whatever because cars always need fixed😉😂

    • @shakinbottles
      @shakinbottles Год назад

      @@deanfawbush9071 and it would probably take like 3 or 4 hours absolute max you could get it done in 30 minutes if you know what your doing and have decent tools but I would take it kinda slow and look over everything if you don't normally work on your own cars but it can be really peaceful and kinda relaxing expecially if you don't have alot of rust on your car and it makes you feel like a man when your done and if you got a wife she would prolly like it too just sayin homie😂😎

    Why is the clip still in ? You know the one that holds in the coolant reservoir hose. Also it doesn’t look like you tried any harder to remove the coupler from the housing. Something smells like flat rate work😂

    • @AlexTheCarDoctor
      @AlexTheCarDoctor  Год назад

      First of all I pay my guys hourly, so no flat rate pressure here. When I tried to remove it gently,it broke, so I secured the clip by pushing it back in to avoid loosing it.
