This woman has told so many lies that you have no idea. You think Elvis fans are insane but we well know that what is shown in this movie is different from her book (who she herself admitted was overdramatized to sell copies at the time and be sensational) and from reality. A lot of people who lived there, those years at Graceland, and people who knew Priscilla in Germany all told a very different story. It's time for this woman to stop exploiting his name and be a total contradiction.👎🏻

Only people who do not know Elvis facts and believe this sorry excuse of a movie would call people who call out all the lies Beaulieu has been telling for decades now "Elvis fangirls" and "insane" on top of that. Having such a misguided opinion only proves you are ignorant on the subject and easily duped into believing fabrications in a cheap, manipulative, movie.

i only commented on what the film showed, which is contradictory to what she declares in the video. given that the film is made with her collaboration/blessing, it’s a strange thing, that could mean many things. that she’s lying, that she doesn’t have the courage to declare publicly that he was a paedophile(maybe because she doesn’t want to face backlash for saying sthg so grave about a venerated icon of global music), and so she says that through a movie, etc. the fact that he had plans for her after meeting her at 14, and the age of his subsequent girlfriends show at least that he liked younger, more naive than him women. it’s obvious grooming in priscilla’s case, in my opinion. other than that, it’s hard to know what actually happened. but again, i don’t get her constant “it was great at graceland, elvis was a gentleman, etc” when the movie shows what it shows.@@elvis78ale @Tyler2004durden

@@willee2409 Of course I have an idea. Like when she was quoted as saying that when reporters visited Elvis she was thinking, "what about ME, I can do things too." Or when she left Elvis, got her money and right away got herself a movie agent. Or when Mike Stone said "she wanted to be known for who she was, not for whom she was associated." Or the place on the divorce settlement where she claimed that Elvis had hidden his money, where Elvis said that she had always known how much money he made and that the movie offers were just because of his last name. So apparently she had been saying she got movie offers and Elvis wouldn't let her take them. I doubt that she really got any because she tried to get into the movies after the divorce and got nowhere until Elvis died and she got a lot of publicity by using him, thus getting her first tv gig, Those Amazing Animals.
Also there were blurbs in the movie mags when she was leaving Elvis, "Priscilla wants to go into show business".
No I can't prove it, but there were plenty of indications.

That is what you got from the movie? A love story that ended in heartbreak? This movie is the story of how a 14-year-old girl got groomed by a 24-year-old movie star. It's not sweet, it's the story of a survivor. Elvis was a manipulative pedophile, and the movie does a great job of displaying it. If you see this movie as "Elvis couldn't handle the stress" I'd suggest you do some moral questioning because your morals don't seem to be in the right place.

Priscilla's main goal in life since Elvis died has been to make herself look like his victim. In fact, it was just the other way around. She knew when she married Elvis that he did not want a wife who wanted to go into show business so she hid her show business ambitions from him. She stayed with him JUST LONG ENOUGH to get the biggest divorce settlement, (five years in California at that time) left him, got her money and got herself a movie agent. After that she did a number of things to break Elvis financially. Elvis LOVED Priscilla. Grief and financial woes caused by her and Parker, but mostly her, broke him. He started to have more and more health problems and started using more and more drugs and died.
Now she successfully fools the public into thinking that she was his victim!! She is the greatest con woman in the history of the world!!!!

The Elvis and Me movie i felt was enough. She already told her story and wrote a book. Lisa marie was against this film being made from the beginning. She read the script and was concerned about how people would perceive her father today. Times are different today than in the 50s and 60s , 70s era.

This is how the world of Elvis works. Pricilla owns Elvis and the name and rights and everything that is Elvis. She and her accountant got together and saved Graceland, FOR MONEY! What happens now is, because she owns everything Elvis. She decides what will be put out there and how her name will be used in the production.
And that is why you will see her name on the Elvis movie, that is why she said it was a great movie because of MONEY! And good on her I say.

I loved this movie, and the final scene was so perfect, bittersweet and full of meaning.
Elvis certainly exercised a lot of power over young Priscilla, and he definetly came across as a control freak. But I think he also really wanted to be Priscilla's dream guy - devoted, masculine, protective - but he just didn't know how. He tried to keep the noise and chaos of his life outside of Graceland and eliminate all distractions when they were together, but that wasn't the reality. It just wasn't his life.
Elvis also had a hard time asking for the things he himself wanted and he was always being controlled from the outside; by his dad, his manager, his fans etc. How could he have made someone else happy when he didn't even know how to make himself happy? I think deep down he desperatelly yearned stability in his life, but he was not ready for a real partnership with a real woman. Priscilla, a mere teenager when they met, could not have possibly challenged him or provide him with the kind of security he needed. I think the movie really showed the relationship for what it was: a dysfunctional yet sincere attempt of two people to be happy together.

Try reading some books instead of trying to gain truth and knowledge from movies.
Priscilla and Me by "Prissy" herself sounds bit too much like fairy tale but it's a must read. Then read Child Bride by Suzanne Finstad as well, to get another version of the life of Priscilla. Perhaps the truth falls somewhere in between the two.
The point is, you can use your own mind and discernment and decide for yourself what you think might have happened. You don't have to take some movie director's version of events as gospel because film versions of true events are always miles away from the actual people and stories that the attempt to portray.

And he's not even alive to defend himself. Why is that anyone's business? Elvis, Micheal Jackson, James Brown, etc. Are artists that have had such a huge influence and impact on music and pop culture... why not make movies that celebrate the legacy they left behind in music? Elvis is a good example. It barely touched on any part of his personal or married life because why should we see that? It's none of our business...
This movie seems like slander to me.

And it is slander. Ever wondered why they never gave the real Elvis a chance to respond, to tell his own story, or to defend himself? Well, supposedly who owes nothing fears nothing. And those who never give the accused their deserved rights to respond and defend themselves are either the epitome of cowards…or there’s something very fishy about their statements. And considering that Priscilla is not exactly known for being transparent, trustworthy, and constant with her claims, I like the second assumption a little bit more.

Let's be real, we never got to hear his side. I mean something doesn't sit right with how things turned out. If she was subjected to narcissistic abuse at his hands, why does she still have his last name and why is she still living off his legacy?

    • @deborahcurtis1385
      @deborahcurtis1385 10 месяцев назад +6

IT's not like she could ever get away from being Elvis' wife. So might as well get on board with retaining his name, working the positives and not being a loser out of the situation.
She is supposed to just fade out? How? She might as well try to make money and find a way out.
The whole Elvis mob was toxic. Priscilla realised she could never directly criticise Elvis so she never has. She just tells it as it happened and leaves us to draw our own conclusions. Even this isn't enough for the Elvis fans.

@@deborahcurtis1385 when a person is being subjected to narcissistic abuse. He/she immediately removed themselves from the environment. She left Elvis, yes. But she never really leave that world. She kept dragging him through mud. Lisa Marie said in an email that the script seemed 'vengeful". She didn't approve of the tone of this film before she passed. Elvis aside, Priscilla left out a lot of things that would have made her look bad. While they both had affairs and Elvis was obviously far from perfect but neither was Priscilla. Mike Stone her affair partner was himself married and had a pregnant wife. This wasn't in the movie. And her son, spoke ill of his late sister, Lisa Marie on an Instagram live, on which he defended himself by saying, “I didn’t talk trash, all I did was speak truth.” Priscilla went after her own granddaughter in court to contest the will of Lisa Marie after her passing. She also demanded to be buried next to the love of her life (Elvis) in the settlement but she also decided to further bury Elvis with this film.

Priscilla has changed her story so many times after Elvis passed away that to me this alone proves she a liar and out for herself alone. Granted times were different back then and women were more submissive to men than today.
If you were over 21, female and not married you were looked at as an old maid.
Most women were married right after high school.
Yes , Elvis met her at 14. She moved into Graceland at 17 .
Priscilla once said that she felt out of place because Elvis was around older, beautiful Hollywood actress. She ask Elvis to help her look older and more stylish. Which he did and now she states he was grooming her. Ugh.
Too bad everything is one sided. Her side.
Used to love Priscilla but over the years if you followed her life she’s not genuine to the story.

Í lost all respect for Sofia Coppola after she made this film. Elvis was an easy target for the kind of man she wanted to describe and she discarded that Priscilla is a narcissist who wanted nothing more than be portrayed as a victim. She persued Elvis until he finally invited her to Graceland and she made sure to stay on!
She was not an innocent 14 yo girl.
Her innocence was stolen by her stepfather long before rhat and he and her mother groomed her to trap a rich man. She honed in on Elvis and her parents let her do it!
They had already offered her ti an older and established man at that point so no wonder she went for Elvis when she got the chance. Shevwas gromed to be a child bride as we would see it nowadays.
I just read Lisa Marie's book and Priscilla was defenetly not the mothering type.
Why Coppola went with the version of the story she did nakes her a fake feminist in mt eyes as she just made a narcissist into a martyr instead of the horrifying truth of a child never having a morher.
I admire Lisa Marie for actually trying to be a good mother to her children despite her lack of a rolemodel.
I really wanted Coppola to be a role model fir women but after this there is no way back.
She could have researched the story better and seen Priscilla with more mature eyes but instead she went for the stereotypes she had already decided to in in her head and as such she got what she wanted.
