This is the first time I saw that scene. It speaks volumes how Priscilla saw for the first time that Elvis lost his temper and it was difficult to realize he didn’t want her to have an opinion that was different than his. Also how he said he was sorry and wanted her to just immediately accept the fact he was sorry and just move on as if it didn’t happened. It did happen and she was not given time to cope with fear and realization that she couldn’t speak her mind and have her own opinion.

they have to walk such a fine line when explains certain things, even about the chair when Elvis throws it ,the three of them say" oh he threw a chair at the WALL and not pricilla". Stilll comes across as trying to defend Elvis. It has to be hard using prisscillas memoir and working directly with Priscilla and also trying to portray how icky Elvis really when, when even Priscilla really loved him and never wanted to talk negatively about him. When its so clear how tense Elvis really was.

I think part of the reason Priscilla doesn't want to is because she realized he was a victim of the times, fame, (this was a HUGE reason) drugs, and his dad. Don't get me wrong, he definitely did bad things but I can see why she would want to defend him.

    • @yernmoma5

considering she was the one experiencing abuse, SHE was a victim of those times, and many women like her. Him and the men that inflicted abuse are not victims of the times. Also this scene is really tense. here we are in a very dimly lit room, Elvis is obviously very tense, and here you have all of these MEN on one side of the room in a much darker spot where you have this tiny little girl on the opposite side who is clearly uncomfortable. Then The height difference between the two actors helps create this very large male- dominating presence that looms over a smaller softer female presence almost showing how predatory it really was.

Ela e a mãe conheceram versões bem diferentes do Elvis.

This one scene does NOT define Elvis.
To really evaluate this scene or any other scene in the movie we must contextualise the moments both before and after, in other words the reasons behind the actions.
When things are taken or read out of context then the actual scene can be totally void of any rhyme or reason.
Sometimes what isnt shown actually gives the plot more impetus and a believeable, empathetic and meaningful narrative.
To my mind this scene shows, by not showing, that something was clearly bothering Elvis at this moment in time , and sadly Priscilla or anyone around him received his wrath.
Elvis was human, very human, but way too often neither expected nor allowed to be. 😔

Shes is one Cailee Paeny. She’s a looker alright. 11/3/23 she was on the view speaking to “them”. You could see Sara Haines green with envy seeing how attractive Cailee Spaeny was. Lol 😂 It probably made her wish she could be 27 year young all over again? That’s the way I feel seeing these young men shredded with abdominal muscles visible. Yeah, I had my glory days with my 8 pack ripped. I’ve made the women swoon. Now it’s my turn to step aside. The glory days were great

Is this a joke? He sounds nothing like Elvis. He achieved exactly what Austin Butler was trying to avoid: becoming a silly charicature of Elvis. Also, Priscilla was very clear that he never hurt her or threw anything AT her, but they purposefully create the illusion that he is throwing the chair at/near her on purpose. Just like Lisa Marie said, a very dishonest and vengeful depiction of her father. I had high hopes for this movie, unfortunately looks like I won’t be seeing it.

yes I read the Article with what Lisa Marie said with the leaked Emails with Copolla or however you spell her name like who cares -- she said this is not my Father reading the script -- and she went against the movie and her MOM -- Elvis was never abusive even Zilla said that but they throw that iN!!!! Yes E had a temper that's well known but never have I heard Anita Wood Linda Thompson Ginger Alden in their books say Elvis did anything like that to them -- P is a liar and about money - and destroying Elvis!!!
