      @@Gabe_Dewey yeah, after acquiring more watches and learning a lot more about watches, I appreciate this piece even more now. A very attractive, simple, versatile watch with great specs and movements. Always on people's best watch for value list. I don't like the strap it comes on very much however, but love it on a variety of other straps, particularly black suede, blue canvas and a bunch of natos. Switching out keeps the original strap in perfect condition as well, helping maintain its value. Good for people with smaller to average sized wrists I'd say.

    Great Review as always! I think You missed to capture how beautiful this dial is, though. I went for this version over the black one since this one is easier to dress up but equally easy to dress down. I use mine on a leather nato which is kind of Brown and gray and it's just stunning. This dial really comes to live with different lights and straps

    My wife bought me this watch for Christmas and I love it. Just wanted to mention that, if you're a big guy like me with an eight inch wrist, the stock strap will not fit you. I bought a long black leather strap to go with this and I think it looks better than the brown strap it comes with. Also, it looks good on a milanese mesh bracelet if you want to change up the look a bit. Wears very comfortably and it's a Hamilton, so of course it's awesome.

    High quality, easy-to-read, no frills. updated free-spun movement, 80hr PR, reasonable price. Maybe not your style, but hard to fault the Khaki line of watches. (Well, maybe the lack of AR on the sapphire. Not sure why Hamiliton eschews AR on many Khakis)

  • @andywilliams4887
    @andywilliams4887 2 года назад +3

    I have the black (with red tip) dial 42mm case version on the brown leather strap as I found the 38mm a too small for my taste, but each to their own. Either size or colour are great choices at what I would call a bargain price (£365 from Jura Watches in UK in Sept 21), when one considers the overall accuracy, genuine heritage, Swiss-made build quality and useful 80 hrs power reserve. It's what I choose when just knocking around the house, doing chores or when slipping on my Hunter wellies and getting out into the countryside.

    I bought mine some 2 years ago from eBay as a fantastic 2nd hand model! Only one minor scratch on it. Honestly I wasn’t really sold on it having the silver dial as I have a very good collection of military vintage watches, with dark dials. But the price was too good to pass on. More than happy I did buy it!😎👍🏼

    Love this watch. Also have the silver dial as the lack of AR on these on the black version made it a little too reflective for my liking. On this though it’s really not an issue. Legibility, honestly is not the greatest at quick glance, but then I’m so used to wearing my SPB143 most of the time which has ridiculously good legibility. In terms of wearability though, and also accuracy(!) I’ve been super, super impressed. The dial is very pretty, it goes so well on so many straps.. I wear it often with an army green Barton’s silicone strap and it looks and feels amazing. It’s so light and slips under sleeves really easily. And genuinely this watch is running at +/-3/4 seconds per month! Very impressive and it’s surprised me on that front hugely. Can’t fault it to be honest. Lume’s shite yeah but really, so what!? For the money, this is by far the best value of all the watches I have.

  • @anthonystevens8683

    I'm certainly looking to add another Khaki Hamilton to my collection at some point to add to the 'Murph'. There is so much choice within the Khaki line that a decision is not quite as easy as it seems. I like the manual versions as it adds that little connection to the watch but the automatics cannot be ruled out. This silver dial version is very tempting though, if there was one improvement that I could think of it would be to use black hands filled with lume. This would increase readability but I guess might loose a little bit of the minimal glamour. The brushed case is also my preference so as you say points towards and automatic. As and when I'm at the AD I could be their sometime. In summary this is certainly one of the front runners.

    I am torn between the Tissot Chemin des Tourelles and this watch. Both are about the same case diameter, both are autos with hacking second hand, exhibition case back, leather strap, both have Swiss movements, and both are suitable as dress watches and as casual watches. I might be leaning toward the Hamilton for its military heritage (I'm a veteran) and Lancaster origins (I live in Southeast PA).

    I have this watch and really enjoy it! It wears incredibly thin and is super versatile. One point of contest: do not agree with the ‘comfort’ of the strap… it is simply too thick, feels plasticcy and is not comfortable at all it really hurt my wrist bones on the side and was too stiff. Looks great but awful quality imo. I wear it on a 30 dollar grey suede leather strap which is waaaay more comfortable
