Thank you for this open and honest review! You've made me feel more comfortable ordering from them and making sure I follow their formula to provide accurate measurements for the perfect jacket. You are fantastic at providing all the pertinent details for the review!
Congrats on your beautiful jacket! I bought my Langlitz jacket (and pants) in 2001 and rode with them until my first child was as born in 2007. Ended up giving up my vintage British bike collection after the kids came, but held onto the jacket and still love it to this day.
I remember, my dad had a riding jacket for nearly his entire life. I never knew who made that jacket. I remember when I first purchased my own jacket. He gave me some great advice for breaking it in. He told me to put it in the dryer on tumble. Zip all the zippers up and put a piece of tape on the zipper to keep them all closed and let it go for about an hour. When I removed my jacket, it was fantastic and broken in. I can’t think my dad enough for his advice, and I’ve done this over and over again.
Yeah man, I have not done the tumble method but I’ve talked to some who have. Sometimes folks will put some bulky stuff like sheets and then sneakers or tennis balls to be agitators
We are so focused on making custom jackets all the time. It’s refreshing to hear a customer perspective on ordering and the process. We really enjoy getting to know our customers on the phone. I’m working on some new stuff for the future to make it a little easier to order all the “secret menu items”.
Interesting order process. Not sure if I’d want to go off course like that. I’ve ordered jackets before and usually pretty simple and got what I wanted. I’ll stick with Aero or through Thurston Bros. Thank for the info Del👍 Not nuts over the collar. I like the Cafe style but it looks stiff to me.
Yes I wish I could just order a standard size, perhaps with an adjustment for sleeve length? As to the collar, yes it’s stiff and perhaps slightly taller than I’d like. The wind flap also tends to keep it up. As it breaks in it stays out of the way more
Hi Del. Another very helpful video. I had planned to get myself a custom Langlitz Cascade jacket for myself. Then I found a Langlitz Colombia advertised for sale locally at a price I could not refuse. To my utter surprise, the jacket was a 99% fit (slightly bigger in the bicep areas), otherwise a great fit. I’ll be using it on my motorcycle so it’s an absolutely perfect find. What’s next in line for you? Keep up the great work and content.
So this is not a type of jacket that’s mass produced and ready to order. I can definitely see why there would be some reservations getting a jacket from them. But the trade off is simply beautiful pieces of leather that will probably last longer than we’re around 😂
@@AVEXentSUCKS yes it was the same folks at Langlitz. My first jacket with them was a Columbia. I felt that it was too large. They did some work to reduce the size, but ultimately I decided it wasn’t for me. Because they already had my measurements and preferences from the result of the first jacket, they were better able to make this Timberline. I know some folks have had a great fit on the first jacket, and I think doing the video conference really helps with it.

Of course! Because the measurements are so important, it’s worth doing the video conference even if it’s not convenient. Best of luck to you!

Thanks Jon! Yeah I have kids and don’t ride. But I still appreciate a fantastic jacket 😀

Now that jacket is so cool
Thanks man! Very happy with it
Great review and perspective!
Hey Bennie I appreciate it. An earlier and lower quality video in my opinion but I think the facts are still good!

Thanks R G. Working on my video skills, got a lot to learn
Weird. I'm watching your video and just saw your post on The Fedora Lounge. Man that guy really looks familiar..haha!
Haha it me!

Thanks Rick. Looking to mix reviews and other content. Next up is a video about getting a great fitting jacket without trying it on first
I would like to know where and how you were able to sell your Langlitz? I have three, but no longer ride.
@@stevenschwagel8029 hey Steven. I ended up selling it on eBay. You could also sell at FedoraLounge classifieds section

Yes exactly! And certainly the risk goes down with each order as you and the makers get to work together more
@@DudsByDel Did you work with the same artisans for your second order?
