Sounds very Similar to my Daytona 1000 from 1992. Fitted with alloy REMUS mufflers. Sounds great without being overbearing. Of coarse mine revs harder being a short stroke version of this motor.
When it had stock mufflers, we put it on a dyno at a local collage (4Wd Dyno). Max power recorded was 98 Hp with a very flat torque curve (very under-stressed motor). In fact there were 6 cylinder (3.3L) Commodores put on this dyno, Producing much less power at the wheels.

+David North cool info, thanks..I did look into the REMUS pipes too...I too like the subtle extra roar of these slip-ons, with the nice crackle on deceleration....I read Triumph hooked up the 1200 engine to a test bench before finalizing the new layout and ran it full throttle for 24 hours, and the rev limiter was set ABOVE the recommended red-line. So yes, very under-stressed engine....very well built. I never heard from anyone with the early 1000cc version...nice collectible you have. Ride hard.......

My dad had a yellow 95 when I was a kid. I’ve been searching for one since I turned 16. Still no luck but I’m not going to give up :)

I have a Yellow 1996 Daytona 1200 with 37k miles. New tires, brake disks, pads and fresh fluids. Carbs cleaned, balanced, re-jetted, new air filter, fuel filter, coils and Dyno tuned at Ron' Performance Motorcycles. Upgraded adjustable mono-shock, carbon fiber rear fender, aftermarket exhaust, low profile dark tinted windscreen. I am the third owner ( second rider ) of this beefy British beast and I have been updating and upgrading it in effort to make it as safe and reliable as possible. It is incredibly fast and good looking. Dyno'd at over 130 Horsepower. 0-60 in about 2.3 seconds. I am about 5'11'' 240lbs and the bike is a great fit for me. Big enough to feel substantial and stable at high speeds. I love the way it sounds!!! I love the way it looks!!! I love the way it rides!!! I love everything about it, but I love my wife more. I am reluctantly giving up street riding in an effort to stay out of harms way. The power and exhilaration exuded by this machine is very tempting.
I am not desperate to sell it by any means. I would prefer it to go to someone with an appreciation for what it really is.
So, with all that said, are you really interested in owning one? It is near Portland, Oregon.

I have one as wel. now and then they come for sale in the Netherlands and other countries in Europe. I don't know where you live, but i'm sure your biggest chance to find one is in Europe.

There was a special edition Daytona 1200 that was black w/gold trim - still want one. My current '08 Sprint ST is supposed to consistently make 115 rwhp. Don't know what my incoming Trophy SE makes at this point.

.rare breed these big triumphs...people under-estimate their top end pull...... an 20 year old Triumph can run with almost anything under a 1400cc supersport........

On UK roads you'd be in a hedge on that thing as they do not handle or stop well. Too long and way too heavy.
You lot over in the states and Canada have roads that are "sweeping", not really twisty stuff like in the UK.
Don't male me LOL!!! My 2003 ZX9R would trounce your bus on our roads and on any drag strip too.
