Subscribed great job well done .I love using my hands without gloves.that connection with gardening gives joy
Thank you!! Absolutely!!!
Amazing work ! Love the tips and advice on screen !
@@CountDownRecords210 thank you!!!!
Mr. Bunny is sitting there dreaming of his new food supply?????
I thought the same thing
@@Nanasews4 lol, right!
Arborvitae are frequently planted WAY too close to homes because they look great when small. Some get 8 feet wide and 15 feet tall. So you want to be sure you pay attention to MATURE size when doing foundation plantings. Things look dinky when small plants are appropriately spaced. Within 5 years, you have a filled-in bed though. Photos of mine are funny-looked pretty sad, but now it is filled in and lovely. The Azaleas are an A+ choice-love what you did with them!
That sod cutter would be awesome for some projects. Didn't even know it was a thing!
Ha, definitely! It's s heavy beast!
Excellent video . Learned a lot
Thanks for the great tips! Thoroughly enjoyed watching your planting
Bunnies are so precious ❤ made the video 10x more good I enjoyed!!!
Thanks. You showed all the steps through to finished project. Off I go to do mine
Nice!!! Enjoy!
This video really saved me alot of anxiety. I have been pushing this back for years. I’m ready now.
Coming from a landscape, if your tryna make a bed/beds, u can user a shovel, it’s honestly not that difficult at all
U do not need that machine
That machine is more for like ripping up the grass and putting down seed/ and or sod
Well done. Looks great, thanks for sharing ❤👌🏾😎👍🏾👍🏾
Beauriful Well done job. You mind listing the plants and flowers you used. Thanks for uplifting and motivating us!
Nice job man!
Definitely helps to be in some sort of shape, the more, the better, in my experience.
Doing similar now...👍
Thank you! And, agreed!!
you did a great job with this. you look great too, that chest and those arms are NICE !!!
Why thank you and thank you!
Why didn't you water each root ball and add in fertilizer when planting?
I’m jealous!! You’ve nice dark soil and even earth worm!! My soil is hard and rocky, very hard to dig. Using a pic ax is a great tip, don’t know why I didn’t thing about it yet ?! Tku for sharing!!
I save all worms too. Beautiful job!
AMAZING JOB ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@straighttalk4988 thank you!!

My best friend, that's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
Beautiful landscaping!! So neat!!👍
Thank you!!
@@BMSwisherhey I am in the process of removing grass for a veg garden, I took grass top layer off but underneath is a whole bunch of red ants , any help on how to get rid of the ants pls ty
I know this video is two years old now but what did you do with all of the sod you removed? Did you have a company come take it?
I'm currently in this conundrum trying to figure out where to put my bulk sod once I'm done with my garden beds.
Wow, nice....really enjoyed the upload! Thank you for the ideas. 👍
I found this video at the right time! Just had a fence put in and was wondering how to do this type of thing!
Sweet!!!
That’s awesome but you didn’t put anything down to minimize weeds later?
@@SilverPanther000 so mulch BLOCKS weeds now? lol
@@Given2Fly7173 Certainly hinders weed growth. Do tell what BLOCKS weeds?
@@Given2Fly7173as long as you put enough down to block sunlight.
Beautiful 😍 can you please give the name of those beautiful flowers?
Great job! That downspout needs to be extended bc a heavy rain will push out that mulch.
That job is well done. Thanks.
Wow great job my friend
Looks amazing 🥰🥰🥰
Greetings from Pacific
Greetings! Thank you! Happy gardening!!
Awesome job! I love the way arborvitae complements the azaleas and verigated liriopes 👍🏻
Thank you!!
Yes. I love using no gloves. I was here to learn how to avoid grass into my garden beds. I saw the way you cut into the grass at an angle. I thought border/bricks were necessary.
@@teresaschmitt3441 a border of bricks, pavers, or small retaining wall blocks definitely last longer than a cut in edge like this. Doing this type of edge look nice and sharp, but you do have to redo it again each year when you mulch. After you get it cut in nice the first time, it's much easier to touch it up each year with the edging shovel or spade. It's a little cheaper this way but the hardscape way definitely lasts a lot longer!
Awesome landscaping 😊
Thank you!!!
What kind of mulch was used?
Thanks for this video
@@MrsNewtonsBigFamilyBigNoise You are most certainly welcome!!
That last azalea gave me OCD, best side faced the house. Apart from that nice job 👍
Good job n neat n tidy.
It's my pleasure 😊
the arborvitae is way to close to the house. The roots are no invasive so it will not hurt the foundation, how ever if the doesn't get much sun the house will turn green from lask of sun ight. I think a lot of people plant too close to the foundation. You have lots of space. it's ok not to have plantings to close to the house.
What if my area looks like yours against the house but it’s mostly weeds? Can you just spray it and then cloth it and mulch? Do you have to get rid of it that way or can you just kill it off and then cover it up and then Mulching at is what I’m asking
Absolutely! Nothing wrong with doing that!!
@@BMSwisher I made a trench around that area I kind of went too far up toward the house so I had to fill that in but I’m gonna work on that before I put the cloth I am gonna spray it today later today if we don’t get any more rain here. I did dig that little trench around the area and I think I got a little too deep so I’m gonna fill that in a little bit but that’ll keep the mulch off the grass and it’ll hopefully keep the weeds from coming over there. Do you think spraying that in the cloth and it will keep the weeds out for at least a season or maybe I guess depends on the weather here.
For sure! The cloth will last a good long while. It's just after a few years when the mulch breaks down on top, the weeds will grow on top of the fabric and sometimes even root into the fabric.
@@BMSwisher I have a retaining wall in the backyard because I wanna Terrace property and it’s about 4 1/2 feet wide almost 5 feet wide and I had that cloth and it’s the real thick stuff which I’m not using the same in this area but that Steph still there but there is weeds growing at times on top of the dirt from that. So they’re easier to get out but still have to deal with it. This one should last a while I think. Thanks for the information I really appreciate it
No weed barrier?
Very nice!
remember to use your safety glasses
uhgm, looks good including the no shirt 😉
Yeah lol. He's got a damn great upper chest, I'm jealous 😅😂
Awesome work, man! Where can I find a sod cutting machine?
I rent them at any local rental place because they are over $6K for purchase vs $80 day rental!
@@BMSwisher makes sense! Thanks man!!
no weed fabric?
Looks really good. Do you have any recommendations for weed control or grass creep? Or does the mulch cover and the deep edge you made across grass line keep it under control? I was thinking you had to lay a weed tarp down to prevent weeds.
Regular till with a hoe works, but cats poop in loose material. So I am putting down plain felt-tough stuff. Buy whole spool of it. Weed fabric is flimsy. Then put decorative rocks, pine needles, branches and cones. It looks really nice!
Weed tarp works for about 2 years. If you want to plant annuals its a super pain. After 2 years the roots of the weeds seem to grow super powers and penetrate the weed fabric. Pull weeds out that have rooted into the weed fabric from above it a nightmare. "Snapshot" or "Preen" helps to minimize weeds if you spread the granuals down before you mulch, a little $13 gallon of roundup spot-sprayed bi-weekley on non-windy/non-rainy days will make you a very happy person.
Subscribed!!!
Thank you!!
What about the watering?
New subby here, what I liked most is that you rolled the grass, do you reuse it in other ways? Thanks for sharing your skills.
Sometimes the grass falls apart, but if it has healthy roots and holds together, absolutely it can be reused.
