Seriously, this is the FIRST blender tute where certain things just seemed to make sense to me. Especially the spacial elements of the light and camera Great stuff
i took three attempts at the blender donut and never finished but this one seems to be the first blender project ill complete, good job on an easy to follow tutorial.
There's A LOT inside this tutorial. Thank you / dankie baie, kindly. You move as efficiently in Blender as I do in a 5 liter chocolate ice-cream tub... so, efficient, Borg-style. 2 of 13 thanks you.
Just an amazing tutorial. Finally i got how to approach the camera and UV mapping. Interesting techniques. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience in Blender.
I did it!! It came out great. This video really helped me to learn a lot! This was my first project 😊 unfortunately I'm having trouble exporting it though..... As an fbx file, it shows as the original light Grey for the metal on build box and doesn't have the shine... For the obj files, it comes up as white in Adobe photoshop. Does anyone know anything about this?
very practical approach. I was doing something like this for my portfolio but wanted to research on a proper approach to modeling a chest. glad I came across this video. I work on maya, so this is easily transferable.
Hi, Im new in blender? I would like to ask if I could make that box open? I try to put armateur but the planks are not connected to the frame cover, i tried to different ways to connect them but some error occured, sometimes the planks dissapeared, 😂
very good tutorial. I just started blender and finished my second version of a chest two weeks ago. Could have used this for sure. Im currently working on msking s stylixed flas. Making ornaments that follow the curve of the bottle. I learned that you have to use a lattice on the curve and flask not to flatten the geometry of the curve depth. Do you know how to shrinkwrap curves around a cylindrical shape like bottle with complex curve geometry? With a lattice I can project a flat curve on a shape but not a shaped curve on a bottle.
hi why my bevel modifier dont effect the mesh in any way? i noticed that when i extrude and right click the extrusion show me the bevel on it, can u help me
How can I export all the textures into one single file? Im trying to import the chest model in tabletop simulator and I need one file for the model (.obj) and another one for the textures (.png)
Ok, found the answer. Duplicated vertices. In Edit mode, select everything. Go to the menu in the top left corner of the viewport. and hit Mesh > Clean Up > Merge by Distance. This will remove any duplicated vertices. Which, for some reason, I ALWAYS end up having. I'm probably doing something wrong.
the first ever creation i was ACTUALLY able to fully complete. THANK U

I gonna try this tutorial today.
Thanks!

I've learned so much more from this video than any other. You've got a very refreshing teaching style- Count me subbed matey.
Everything apart from the UV bit worked for me Blender 3.4

24:17 Я просто оставлю здесь для себя памятку.
Спасибо автору за урок
I love these videos so far!
Cool way of modeling it with loose parts for the planks and the outer cage instead of one part for the lid and the bottom.
Wow. It looks real to me.
Very nice tutorial😊 Now I have a chest of my own 😉 Much thanks
Really nice project. Thanks.

is that chest model can be opened ? i must make an open and close chest animation :(
aight, for those who have auto cut problems, you did fill with line and which is wrong. You should do it with vertex
THANK you
Tysm
Thank you!
Awesome tut! Thank you very much and ... you got yourself a new subscriber ;)
hi why my bevel modifier dont effect the mesh in any way? i noticed that when i extrude and right click the extrusion show me the bevel on it, can u help me
Looks nice!
The part you delete the face In x mode, I deleted mine but it not showing exactly like your's
The loop cut won't go around the entire chest, just over the curved part. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot!
First, thanks for the tuto. Second, in the 4:08 i got stuck cause the loop cut just affects the upper part. :C. Trying to solve it.
Nvm, got it. Idk how. xD Now i cant inset the 3 faces as one at the same time.
Perfect lesson, thx)
Okay so I figured out that I just can't export as rendered in FBX format. Is there a fix for this?
Great Video! I added the Mirror Modifier, but it mirrors on the z axis when I click the x axis button. Why?
The same thing happened to me...
Ahhhh I figured it out. You need to apply the rotation first.
Hey, I have a problem when I choose Bevel nothing happens
How can I export all the textures into one single file? Im trying to import the chest model in tabletop simulator and I need one file for the model (.obj) and another one for the textures (.png)
Not sure what control r is supposed to do but every time you pressed it yellow lines popped up. didn't do anything for me
same!!! i am having the same problem but dont know what to do.someone kindly guide us
😄hey! i found out how to do it. press the loop cut tool in the given sideways tools and click on the treasure box and it shows the yellow lines!
The bevel modifier is not doing anything idk why.
I have the same problem...why?

@@hubertzimnicki1770 Dont work.
@@tubaraon42136 Maybe you have inverted faces? and try to apply scale before.
I'm having a lot of issues and I have no idea why lmao I hope I can figure out and learn what I'm doing wrong
After restarting three times, I finally did it properly. I have no idea what I was doing wrong lmao
