    When it comes to choosing UMA buffer size, results vary from game to other and also based on graphics settings and resolution used , comparing VRAM allocation from 3G to 8G gave me better understanding and i hope it helps others too.
    Is there any game you would like me to test with different VRAM options too ?
    PLEASE note that I used this BETA BIOS ver for testing purposes and I recommend anyone to wait for official version by LENOVO, it doesn't seem far away

      The options you already used gives a good idea of how much VRAM people should use.
      I think 3 and 4.GB seem to work fine overall.

    Everywhere I’ve read said set it to 6g but for most cases I’ve found 4g to be optimal. Glad someone else has come to the same conclusion

    25WW beta bios has lower boost clocks, so these results will be a bit lower overall.
    Big thumbs up for properly displaying your data!

    I have an idea for a movie:
    1: smt on vs off - on desktop cpu when off smt =more fps in some games
    2. Disable 4 cores cpu(and smt on) and check is more fps in games( because GPU have more power from available 30W?). Because as I understand it, the console has 30W Power and less power for the CPU means more for the GPU?? some games dont need 16 cores cpu .. in my opinion 6 cores is enough for legion go

    Since games mostly run at lower settings on new AAA Games and lower resolution, you never need to use 8.GB VRAM or maybe even 6.GB VRAM.
    I set my Lenovo at 4.GB and it worked perfect in all games i tried so far. I would will stick with 4.GB. Most games i play don't need more than probably 2.GB anyway.

      if you play older games- true. on new games 4,6 gb vram is needed.

      @@Pilociks I used 6.GB VRAM permanently last 4+ months as it's the sweet spot. 10.GB RAM have been enough for Cyberpunk, Robocop Rogue City etc.

    • @V3ntilator
      @V3ntilator 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Pilociks Yep. As for RAM usage. Many said for years you need 32.GB RAM which is only a myth as they didn't even bother to check. In reality very few games uses over 10.GB RAM on Gaming PC's.
      When it comes to video editing 32.GB is barely enough because video is uncompressed in RAM. ;)

    Didn’t watch the whole thing but if you don’t pick games with built in benchmarks later on then this video means nothing. You have to have something that is like for like. Gameplay means there are too many random variables that can affect results.

    @ReubensLair 10 месяцев назад +1

    So what should I set it too?

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  10 месяцев назад +2

      Depending on graphics settings and resolution, there's no one size fits all
      Better to stick with 4G for many old titles to keep more RAM, if you play mainly new titles, 6G is pretty much enough even at high settings
      I don't justify using 8G as performance could go down in games that are RAM demanding rather than VRAM and even at best case scenario it would be quite the same as if you were using 6G for example
      That's what I saw
      If they ever include 5G I think It will be my daily driver choice
      Note that in RDR2 you saw performance is best at 3G, the more I increased VRAM the worse the results became, it's a specific case
      you can understand VRAM usage by using tools like RivaTuner

    So basically vram doesn't matter

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  9 месяцев назад +2

      It does matter but allocating too much dedicated VRAM could hurt performance, it depends on resolution and graphics settings, ideally if you are going to use 800p with Integer scaling, I found 4G to be good, when they add Auto option I'll try it as well
      Also 5G
