I use the Prusaslicer with my K1. I figured out a way to get the side fan control using the custom g-code "after layer change". Here is the code I came up with and it works. M106 P2 S{(layer_num < 1 ? 0 : 204)} ; Side fan to 80% after layer 2 It will turn on the side fan after the first layer is printed. The 204 is the speed percentage (204/255) = 0.8 or 80%. Prusaslicer I think gives better results than the Creality slicer, but that might just be my opinion.
I agree! I also just purchased a k1 for my studio. It was really important to me that it was fully self-levelling and fully assembled. Very efficient. Hope to see more content from you!
Thank you very much for your honest review. I had the same concerns as you before, but it seems like the negative comments on RUclips are unnecessary. K1 meets my needs and the price is very friendly~
Great review but you missed the most important question, I don´t know if you forget to add it in the list or you needed more time, The question is, which has better print quality, P1 or K1? Thanks
The quality is very similar, both have vibration compensation, so until we are using default settings, they print great. The first layer is different, since P1 arrived with textured PEI and K1 with smooth PEI.
so awesome microcenter is price matching the deal crality is giving, a k1 for $350 is by far the best value for dollar printer right now, like out of everything, bambu, voron, annex, hevort, ratrig, dollar for dollar at $350 k1 takes thye cake by far... creality made so many millions of ender 3's that they are easily able to afford to flood the market with k1's now, creality is low key one of if not the smartest 3d printing company to date, people always write them off tho
I've successfully printed generic PLA and generic PETG on the "A" plate without using a bed adhesive. I've used Magigoo when printing generic ABS and generic ASA.
Well the price difference in € becomes even bigger if you add VAT and then you can find good deals on a K1, as far as I know there are no deals on the P1S. For me, it makes a whole €350 difference, in K1's favor.
I’ve seen in places you don’t need to glue the plate if just printing pla. Is that something you do or do you always glue the plate. Thinking of maybe picking up a k1 or p1p just not liking the terms and service of bambu
@@ClydapusGotwald Now that Creality has open sourced their Klipper firmware and opened up root access so you can control the printer at deeper levels via fluid or mainsail, I no longer see any reason to get the bambu labs. With direct access to Klipper you can now avoid the ads in Creality's software. While the build size on the K1 is a bit on the smaller size (the bed is actually 235x235 but they reserve about 15mm around the edges for nozzle cleaning and first layer testing, you might be able to over ride this somewhat with custom slicer settings and pre-print g codes) it's big enough for everything I'd do, except for certain cosplay items. At almost twice the price there is always the K1 Max!
I am also hesitating about whether I need the AMS printing system, but I am more worried about the unnecessary cost of waste material. so maybe k1 is better for me though
The spool holder looks a lot like the one from the Ender 3 V2; it would be great if it were standardized and one could upgrade to an already-available E3V2 aftermarket bearing spool holder. Also, it is just begging for a "CHT" style nozzle, since it appears from the "nozzle kit" pictures that the extruder already has a lengthened melt zone. Well I'm sure ~220 mm/s is enough for most people, but I like to find the limits of things... 😁
Still not decided yet. This one or the Bambu. K1 is definitely the first printer from Creality since long time that finally a big step forward. However some people complaining about quality issues, which is as far as i can see hectic. Some printer has no issue at all, some got plenty. That's not the case with Bambu. What i really don't like with Bambu its their closed system. As far as i know you can not even use third party slicer. Or am i wrong?
I bought a K1 a month ago. I was worried about the lots of negative RUclips videos as well. I think they managed to mend most of the issues RUclipsrs had. The Bamboo was not an option for me because of their closed system. I won't buy their shit for 4-5 times the money. I had no issue with the K1. I love the full auto bed leveling and the fast printing. (I started with a Tevo Tarantula a long time ago, so I know how to level the bed.) The 600mm/sec is just bullshit but it is twice as fast as an Ender 3 v2 for sure. It is a capable printer in my opinion. It is great to just upload your file from the computer using wifi and you don't have to babysit the first layer. You can use OrcaSlicer as a 3rd party slicer. It is a big step from Cura.
Early versions had some problems, they even delay the K1 for the review to me, they told me it will be from new series. So far I had no problems with it.
@@Hiberniust yeah... I really told this many people before or just when these printers came, that 600mm/s is probably good for competition benchy, but i don't think so its going to be something that people will use in real life situations. now its getting clear the normal speed of these printers are somewhere 200-300 if i am not mistaken. Still good enough to me though :D
I see in the table "generic ABS" at 9 mm^3/s?? can you check the claim? it should be faster than generic PLA! ABS always flows and heats better than generic PLA. This is a strange claim.
Prity much unfortunately, I was 1 of the first 100 to buy k1 max when it came out and it arrived in a flimsy damaged box that looked like it had been in bad weather conditions, with massive holes in it, unfortunately also a fried mainboard and a hot end that was already clogged. So spent months contacting support every single day having demand for replacement parts :/ but I know not all 3D printers are perfect when they first come out but it’s the customer service that really let it down the most, it felt like the lack of care in the support really put a bad taste in my mouth. So this k1 max is now up for sale as well as my old ender 3 due to I don’t want nothing to do with Creality any more, shame really as I used to look up to them!
Nice informative review, thanks. How annoying that you buy their machine and have to put up with bandwidth hogging ads that use up so much screen space.
