    I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago as i needed something cat proof to replace my prusa mini with a revo micro hotend and I absolutely adore it. Being able change nozzles quickly and without tools meant that i wasn't losing a key feature my mini had and it's been really pleasant to use so far. I'll give it a few more months but assuming it doesn't have any problems i think it'll become my go to recommendation for an entry level machine.

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Cat-nr7il I believe the Flashforge GitHub upload is for a "vanilla" Klipper implementation that you can now use and modify like any open version of Klipper. I'm not an expert on Klipper, but I'm hoping this will get more in depth coverage from reviewers soon. My understanding is it's sort of like the situation with the Creality Nebula pad. It ran a locked modified version of Klipper so you couldn't use any of the typical open source utilities. As soon as it was rooted and basic Klipper was implemented, you could use Fluidd or Mainsail or whatever you wanted to control it. So this is like Flashforge giving a rooted version for the 5M series. I could be wrong on some details.

    Hi Igor, I enjoyed this review A LOT! Actually, I am very impressed with this printer - it prints VERY FAST! This printer looks A lot like the QIDI x-Plus 3 (only smaller) - I wonder if FlashForge is making printers for other brands 🤔 I LOVE when we can have a clean view of the nozzle. Also very good this trend of “Turn On: Full Calibration”.

    • @GeekDetour
      @GeekDetour 6 месяцев назад

      Oh, moving completely down before starting printer is a way to completely lubricate the LeadScrews and avoid the extremes to be dry if you print mostly shorter parts - then you might have a bad surprise when you eventually prints something taller.

    I'm looking into getting my first 3D printer. I'm between the Flashforge 5M pro and the Creality K1C. I do like how the filament on this printer just pushes the old color through. Yes it waist a little bit but it stops the retraction issues that I've heard about on other 3D printers. It loos like the software is kind of garbage but at the same time the K1C has Creality's garbage advertising. The decision is getting harder. Thank you for the well done review.

      I have this one since December. Excellent machine, you won't regret it. The wasted filament is like 2cm, so it's kind of joke to consider it as waste, and it helps to avoid getting clogs. The software is no joke, it' Orca slicer, fork of Bambu slicer and Prusa slicer, giving you the best of both worlds. Ah, you were talking about Flashprint? You don't event install it. The only feature it has it wifi file transfer which you don't need as you go to your printer anyway to change the material, so plugging in a flashdrive is like an additional minute. You can watch the camera with any browser typing in the URL and a command to display the video stream. You can also have a UI for setting camera parameters like gamma, brightness, color, etc. Don't even compare it to K1, that printer is a joke. Flashforge make industrial grade printers, too, this is just a 'side hustle' for them. They know their trade well and has been around for a long while.

    Was the leveling issue fixed at this time?
    I'm happy to hear that the adhesion issues that everyone mentions are mainly down to temperature configuration (which one has to keep in mind but also ... one can adjust).
    This puts this printer into my closer focus again.

    • @jakabgipsz4788
      @jakabgipsz4788 6 месяцев назад +2

      It is extremely large, but 250x250x250 is much more usable.
      The increase in size really increases the production costs. Longer rods, longer straps, bigger bed, bigger bed heater which needs a bigger power supply, bigger object plate, bigger frame and bigger enclosure.

    • @MyTechFun
      @MyTechFun  6 месяцев назад +5

      For 300mm you need much stiffer mechanics, 10mm belts for printer to work correctly for longer pheriod..

    Its a sad printer. As usual it have good bones but its braindead.
    Im a owner of two Flashforge IDEX printers. Dreamer is complete crap, Creator Pro 2 is anything but PRO.
    At least Creator pro 2 is nice printer after I completely redesigned extruders and moved to Klipper.
    Firmware side of Flashforge - I like to say its below average but in reality its below everything. They will never ever fix the software shortcomings, that is really sad.
    I would get this printer, for 200 - 300 and change controller and install Klipper 😁For 500 its not worth it, as from my point of view its another hardware platform that comes without working software

      There were masses of printer manufacturers that made printers that look pretty much like this for WAY longer than BambuLab even existed. Seems to me that BambuLab fans believe that BL invented the enclosed CoreXY and everyone else is copying them, when all BL did was borrow/take fairly commonly available technologies and package them nicely with a decent user experience, and suddenly we get all these ridiculous comments that everyone's copying BL. Flashforge have been iterating on the same designs for the last 10 years or so, but sure, they're copying BL who didn't have a released product until 2 years ago.

    • @jakabgipsz4788
      @jakabgipsz4788 6 месяцев назад
