I didn't know much about TJ until I saw him on Critical Role. Loved the line, "I'll say a prayer for you...Toll the dead." Now I love him, can't wait to watch and see more! Awesome talk!
So true. I've run 4 or 5 different groups of players through a Waterdeep/Undermountain campaign since the early '90s and they have all been *very* different.
Great conversation between two DMs! Love how shamelessly you admit to borrowing from other IP for ideas. To borrow from other ideas should be seen as the ultimate flattery.
A League of Legends themed D&D campaign is really unique! That's a pretty cool idea, especially if the players are roleplaying actual League champions.
Yeah I love the characters from League of Legends, even if I don't like the game as much anymore. Now I'm just left with the burning question of how did his group build Braum in DnD?
I've been watching monsters and fables and tj storm is an amazing dungeon master. He really gets into the characters that interact with the players and it's really amazing. He really keeps the players attention which I've always though was a challenge.
Here's a question I have for TJ Storm: He DMed a game where he had a deck of Magic: The Gathering cards for Crits and Fumbles. I'd like to see how he does that!
It would be interesting that in the description of the video had the subjects covered and the moment, so people who do not have a lot of time (like me) can watch only the part that interests them...
they are getting braum's roleplay wrong. he is the massive dude who laughs at danger and tells everyone to get behind him. just watch braumix on youtube to get a real good feel for his personality.
I could not play in a game where everyone was screaming at me to do something. I would have to stand up and walk away. There is drama and then there is frenzy and as someone with anxiety disorders I could not handle the "Prove yourself or die" games that require you to be actually clever or eloquent. Matt does that in some battles too and I cringe every time someone is flustered and brain locked and obviously IRL struggling and he starts in with the "what are you going to do?" as if to say "hurry up we don't have all night" when the table is having a nervous breakdown. I guess that's on the DM to know their group well enough to know how far they can press without breaking their will to play. But I would have to tell the DM up front I'm not someone who handles pressure well and not to push unless they want me to have a RL panic attack.
hummm .... it kinda hurt just extending leveling up for 15 years .... that must hurts I mean .... people dream about using higher level stuff ... ouch .... I can understand the words and the reasoning ... but still .......... OUCH !!!
TJ Storm really out here being the coolest person on the Earth

Joan Dudley I was brought here by Luci-us Lorelei as well xD
I wish I had the DM stamina TJ has. This guy runs on pure passion for the game.
Damn this dudes enthusiasm is so cool to see. I am going to see if I can find more on him!
Love you guys on "Heros Of The Vale". Can't wait for the next episode. Cheers!
Now I'm going to watch monsters and fables again. You guys are so full of information and so much fun to listen to.
Love tj, wish he was on more online stuff love how he approaches the game
TJ's enthusiasm is so infectious and views being a DM 'correctly'; taking into account so many factors, and I applaud him!
Wow TJ Storm is so cool!
Happy to hear TJ does multiple parties in the same world its how I do it. Its amazing to see how different parties effect the world in different ways!

2 minutes in...and it is now my favorite Todd Talks!
Amazing stuff. And I completely agree with Ravenloft being the Cthulhu of D&D
Can I just say I love TJ so much.

P.I.C.K. your battles:
Plagiarize. Improvise. Compromise. Keep the game moving.
I have so many ideas for campaigns from this. Thank you.
Have to say that Mr. Storm seems like one of the best people ever.
This was so fun to watch!

Bayu from Conan the Adventurer (1997 TV series)
I want to play in TJ's campaign as Nunu.

Am I the only one wondering how suggestion comes before stinking cloud?
Big fan of the mentor archetype. Prime NPC to kill as a storyteller.
The quest for a new mentor.

And that's the magic of the session zero.
GTA VI Protagonist
TJ Storm = Matt Mercer
him - "you're running 3 games?!" , me - "only 3 games?"
"but it was for 15 years" ,. "ooooohh"

WRONG, Conan, what is best about Dungeons and Dragons? "Crush your players; see them TPKed before you; and hear the lamentation of the men-children!"

Edit out the non campaign stuff
Nothing against Adam Bradford, but Briv is the reason I can't watch Heroes of the Vale anymore. He's just too irritating, and not in a charming way.
Cuts so deep...
