I’m not pro. At all. Am a bit ‘pitchy’ on the Selmer. Had a Yani which I could keep perfectly in tune, but sold that and went with the open sound of this Selmer. Was the closest to my idol Branford that I could get. The Yani played in tune and was better ergs I felt, but long notes on the Selmer sing better FOR ME. Not everyone. In case it’s of interest, I was a trained classical trumpeter up until leaving school. Discovered jazz, not enough time to keep the embouchure up, took up sax as it’s easier to pick up and blow (for me). Fingering and lung work surprisingly similar to trumpet. I can open the card once a year and still have a great play (don’t ask the neighbours though). I personally feel that you need the sound in your head before you can make it come from the instrument. Listen to lots, memorise the sound so it is playing in your head, then reach for that sound. Close your eyes and try to only hear what is coming out and from the objective point of a listener. Then when it sounds clean and sweet, put your own soul into it.
I’ve played and watched people play this standard for hundreds of hours and I can confidently say this is the most beautiful one I’ve ever heard.
I cannot find who he is. Yeah, beautiful.
Love the soprano sax! Every time I hear one, no matter what the tune, I get chills running up and down my spine! What a neat instrument. USA NH
For some reason I want him to just explode into an unbelievably intense bebop solo.
Me too, but unfortunately I don’t have the skills. Self taught amateur. 🙂

@@1inoot you're too humble my friend, this was simply amazing
I love the decay on the sound of the horn. It fades away beautifully. I guess that's great breath control. Fab tone!
It goes deep in my heart. Some of the most touching piece I've heard through a long life with music as performer and listener. I wish I could play my soprano like that - then I wouldn't ask for more in this life.
I play this most days, beautiful tone and improvisation, one of my favourite RUclips videos, I play soprano myself but nowhere near this level. Lovely sensitive guitar accompaniment. Altogether a delight.
Wow I love your arrangements and improvisation on this tune called Autumn Leaves. Wow.
Intonation is impeccable!!! I love the style and vibe!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Nicely done! Love the simplicity of the duo on this...great improvisation!...soulful...not pitchy at all!
Sensational - greetings from Austria....
Magnificent tonal quality beautiful articulation. Nearly as sentimentally melencholy as Art Pepper baladry on Alto.
Belíssima interpretação de Autumn Leaves , a poesia musical que cura a alma.
What a neat and beautiful rendition of this tune, well done!
My favorite sounding instrument.
Yo dude
Your playin just fine! Beautiful sound, good lyrical phrases and nice melodic concept. I can “feel” you and your musicality . Very nice , very nice. Stay with God….
Damn he make it sound beautiful
great tone love choice of song one of my million favourites
Beautiful improvised
Great tones lovely johnD
That is awesome !!!🔥
Good sound
beautiful phrasing...like imagine Stan Getz on Soprano
Nice and tight. Loved it.
beautiful.
Heavenly
Lovely version and I can hear the Brandford Marsalis influence. That beautiful sweet round tone on the high notes. Reminds me a bit of his solo on Little Wing for Sting. This was a few years back though. What are you up to now?
Beautiful
Very nice!
Damn fine tone. The exact tone concept I have.
Soooo nice!
Beautiful tone and phrasing
Great job
Links can be pitchy. I have one. Surprisingly the very cheap Yamaha 4C 5C has better intonation but, sacrifices dynamics a bit. You sound great.
I have played a Yani 901s for 20 years. Upgrading to a Yani S0W010 in a few months to get the ergonomics of the bent neck.
Wow
Sounds great
soul ...................goood!
🎉🎉🎉 genial song feling powuer 👂👂👂👂👂
Good sound the Sop is not easy to play. 🐊I teach trumpet but won't perform with it but more power for the diaphragm and helps the the saxophone the harmonics. Cheers
I am floored. But I do not see a name for this guy. Anybody please give it up.
Belo som 🎉
Quel son. Bravo.
who performs ? you need to write names.
Thank goodness you don't have that IRRITATING and NAUSEOUS Kenny G sound! I have a series 80 soprano sax with a #6 Jody Jazz mouthpiece, but I would like to get the one that Steve Lacy used. Anyway, great job and beautiful tone!❤❤❤
Great sound guys
exceptional intonation, beautiful sound, dark, beautiful interpretation. Does anyone know the name of the saxophonist?
I'd like to know too!
harvey specter hahaahaha
Very nice
Belíssima interpretação!
Who is this soprano sax player? Such a great sound! Love it! (Nice guitar too)
What set up is this? Reed strength, type? Mouthpiece? Sounds crisp and soothing! Beautiful.
Hi. It’s a modern HR Otto link 6. Reed is probably a 2 1/2 Rico royale. I’m not a pro so my set up isn’t exactly the best one.
very nice. Did you write down the improv part in advance or just go with the flow?
소리가 옴팡지게 좋네 ㅋ
Superbe ! 👏 👏
Who is play sax?
très bien à part la guitare sur une autre planète . Sans soutien , c'est un exploit .
Beautiful. Do you have more performances in video?
It´s so funny to me that the guy in the guitar starts playing with the guitar turned off
Massa.
Bom demais slk
♥️♥️👏👏👌

💛🌾🌱🙄
More like a clarinet to my eyes.
maybe visit an optometrist 👓
Nice sop sound but not always in tune 🙁👎
He's more in tune than like 90% of sop players out there. He may be a few cents off here and there (the first phrase was a little rough), but I didn't find it detracted much of anything from this lovely performance.
I play soprano sax and it sounds nice and in tune to me.
He’s in tune, great playing
I am an adult learning the clarinet. I played the flute for years but not professionally. You sound great both of you. What are your names. Are you on instagram
Beautiful
