Trying again... Thanks to Abdel Elmasry for spotting a mistake with yesterday's version of the video! It was a minor mistake but the video has been re-edited and the mistake removed. Sorry for the confusion everyone! Personal note... Sorry I did not release a saVRee Nuggets video. I wanted to, but it pains me to release something that is not worthy of your time. I am planning on doing saVRee nuggets videos, it just takes a bit of courage to post stuff that I know could be better if we took more time to edit it and improve it. We will return to this topic though, promise!
I have a question about the bottom dead center. The blue line indicates that the bottom dead center is measured from the bottom of the piston head; the next diagram shows the BDC from the top of the position head. The second one makes more sense when calculating clearance volume. Would measuring for BDC be from the top of the piston head while at the bottom end of the stroke?
You are a Godsend. I'm nvr watching anyone elses videos abt anything mechanical or biological. You are like a school teacher that take the time to actually walk me through everything so that I have a proper understanding of how it works, rather making me feel so stupid that I wanna hop off a cliff. I am a new subscriber.
Thank you!!! This is exactly the type of content I've been interested in and explains engines better than anything else I've found. Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is a fun game that helps you learn how to take apart an engine and put one back together but it doesn't explain what parts do and the technical side of parts. This really makes a difference!!
I already knew about all of this, just came here to enjoy watching a video of subject i am interested in. Fact: This video is one of those videos in RUclips which explains I C engine very very very clearly and smoothly.
Very Knowledgeable Video! ♥️ Thank you and God bless you always Sir John! If you may, please make a video specifically on Diesel Engine. Its (Operation and Maintenance) as well as parameters to ensure a Safe and Efficient Engine. Again, Thank you so much Sir!
Did you check the diesel engine courses on saVRee.com? There are two courses, seven hours in total. You can access everything for 9.99, check it out. courses.savree.com/
Thank you, mark my words 2023 i will be able to fix my own car, I will make it my priority, all thanks to you, Yoh I never thought a car engine would make sense
Great video. Only issue is where bottom dead center is marked on the 3D model. The 2D illustration has it correct. The BDC should be the lowest point reached by the top of the piston, not the lowest point of the cylinder or the lowest point reached by the bottom of the piston.
You can have either conrod bearing journals or main bearing journals. Rod journals are offset from the centre axis and main journals on the centre axis. The journal is just the place where the plain bearing sits. This image highlights this point: images.app.goo.gl/SXV1b59EepMuMacR8 Engineering is a bit of a nightmare concerning terminology. Plain bearings are also called -sometimes incorrectly- sliding friction bearings, white metal bearings, babbitt metal bearings, friction bearings, and/or journal bearings. Not all of these names are correct, it depends on the material of construction. Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment.
Next one is probably a marine 2 stroke engine (a big one...). Steering gear is a good idea though. We would do the piston design first, as it is simpler.
@@savree-3d please do some video about marine engine for marine engineering students🙏, really love your presentation ✌, we need more videos about ships engine.

Great clarity in the information given, I was able to understand what you were saying.
This was an excellent tutorial, well presented in every possible way. Thanks very much for sharing this information.
brilliantly explained......... this video made me understand each and every thing in much detail... thx
Fantastically lucid…really well explained!
remarkable. please create more videos on these engineering topics.
This is invaluable !!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Update: i got the job! thanks Savree, keep doing what u do

Hi do you have any videos on hydraulics or can you do some ?
Awesome!!! Thanks a lot~~~
how is the spark plug at the same space as the fuel injector
love the video, know i now how the valves of the engines move

Sir please upload videos in Hindi also...it will help us to learn easily..
Great video. I swear!
Excellent!!!!!
Many thanks!
If I purchase the diesel engine fundamentals courses, will i be able to build an engine myself?
Is it possible to have only one cylinder in engine?
At 7:13, a few of the arrows point to main bearings rather than journal bearings.

fyi counter weights are on wrong side 180 degres out of crankshaft throw
what is the definition of stroke volume and swept volume?
Swept volume is the volume between bottom dead center (BDC) and top dead center (TDC). Cylinder volume is the volume between bottom dead center (BDC) and cylinder head.
