It was a pleasure to build this for you Richard and it looks right at home towering over New Junction Central. I look forward to what you do with it to finish it off and bed it in to it’s surroundings. There’s no stopping you adding to the backdrop now with your own creations 😉 Paul
Dear Richard from New Junction. Apon seeing this video I dont realise how small a british home can be. What is with the O guage dont you think you have enough work to do on the 00 layout. The O guage is realy impresive are you going to convert to O gauge in the distant future?
Andrew, I just fancied both, work will continue on both 👍🏻
That beginning scene, finish the building and the sky and you can fool anyone with a realistic shot!
Yep it's looking good!
One of my favourite channels now , up there with Dean park and Everard junction
Keep up the great work 👍
Cheers
Graeme
Thanks Graeme, very kind of you to say so!
I agree that this and all the other stations you listed are tops.
Loving the vids. As a 'returnee' to the hobby with my 8 year old son your videos are super informative, nearly watched them all now! Looking forward to my first 'Warley' trip with my lad in November.
You'll have to come say hi at Warley! 😁
Always nice to have a ride round the junction. Thank you for the trip.
Your welcome David!
Hi richard
Loving the premier inn building hope you will be lighting it up with the purple lights as in the picture.
And the o gauge is coming on very well looking forward to this part of the layout come together.
Peter
Thanks Peter!
A master builder came to your layout opening shot brilliant...... fred
Fred, Its nice to be schooled every now and then 😁
I love the RAF100 Livery, as a vet I thank you for a little thing like that! Great layout and content
Your very welcome Will!
That opening shot! Stunning. That building is simply cracking.
Cracking? That's because he sent it via pigeon lol
Damn, thought that opening shot was real until I looked at the background. Good backscene and something in the Premier Inn windows and it'll look fab
Very nice to see the DBSO running and dose look good on your network rail train
Pat
Stunning, thanks again! 😍
Yes Richard it’s pink! 😆😆
Wow, that building has really set the scene for the station side of the layout. I have some similar projects on the go, if I can get them looking as good as that I'll be a very happy man. The O gauge has come along well, I see you just managed to squeeze the curve in! Looks like good fun. Cheers
Its.coming together well, Paul's work is very inspiring! Looking forward to seeing your progress!
Thanks Richard
loving the terrier and saddle tank O gauge locos richard they look incredible love the update as well the layout looks incredible as ever
Thanks Pal!
I have had the dubious honour of staying in several Premier Inns (or "Chateau Purple" as they became known to some of us) a few years back. Weeks away from home in their cells. After a while all you can see is purple. I took some comfort from the fact I got free food and shelter while not working like a dog. Model looks distressingly accurate (in a good way!!).
Thanks, I love it!
the premier Inn looks amazing, it adds so much. Great Job
Thanks Will
Great job , premier inn building just brilliant
Thanks Nigel!
Another great video Richard
Thanks Daniel!
Nice update! wonder if I could stay at that Premier Inn overlooking New Junction Central?
If you fit you can!
Great video and update. You are really getting a lot in a little area, giving me some ideas. Love the o gauge loop, cannot wait to see it all completed. The new pieces look great. Thanks for sharing. Ken
Thanks Ken!
Nice Richard. I hope you are going to light the new hotel. It will look fab. Love the O gauge too.
Yes lighting is the next task.
Nice bit of filming of the trains running 👍
Thanks Mick!
I actually saw the RAF 156 doubled up with a Northern White/Blue 156 near Carrington, Greater Manchester the other day.
Nice one!
very nice update Richard layouts, looking stunning and a very nice running session to all the best al 😀😀😀👍
Thanks Al!
Nice to see a picture of Penna Lane tmd on your page lol
Another good update. If you ever want to come and have a go with N gauge . Feel free to pop in.
Thanks Ian! 👍🏻
City scape will be great and a classic premier inn, nice touches
Thanks!
Hi Richard. Premiere Inn adds a nice touch. Like the DVT on Dave's WAG, I missed it when it was released and they are hard to come by now. I have to make do with a beastie EWS one on my WAG. Looking forward to seeing progress on 'O' guage. Regards Bobby 'T'.
Thanks Bobby!
Nice one...have a good time in Lincoln.
Thanks Tim!
Great update mate looking really good o gauge looks fantastic cannot wait to see it
Thanks Mate, its stunning!
Hi Richard, Looking great, love the Premier
Thanks James!
Richard I’ve been going around all the major layouts I know and asking if you guys would produce a “Boredom Basher” just a simple running session that we followers can watch and escape this uncertain world for a while thank you for your time as always I remain a loyal follower sending you all my blessings to you and your family 👍
Hi John,
I do a lot of running sessions for 'work' on Hornby Magazines channel:
New Junction yep! I know but! I’ve viewed them all as you can imagine I’m not sleeping that well and watching your work and that of your colleagues friends and network members
Hi Richard, the premier Inn looks great. I like the Idea of the low relieve buildings as a back scene.....................John.
Thanks John!
The Premier Inn looks great and in just the right spot - wedged in near a railway station! I have checked the Hobbyzone catalogue but I think you're going to have to come up with your own O gauge tunnel - they don't seem to do one! Cheers
Ha luckily the track passes in front of it
Looking very good. Hope you put floodlights on your hotel.
That's the next step 😁
wow Richard the o gauge loop is looking nice
Its.coming on nicely! 😁
Richard. Hello, I’m going to Edinburgh on Monday with LNER. Also, thanks for showing how to make hedges as you helped me make some of my own!
Great stuff, hope you enjoy your trip.
Great video the layout is looking great keep up the great work
Thanks David!
Lots of great work happening Richard...looking forward to you tarting up Paul’s Hotel build. If you are doing the lighting as the picture, that will be awesome.., cheers, Chris
Yes some nice uplifted purple lights
V Nice hotel...can you subcontract Paul to do the building of the beds and the pillows....as I hope they're more comfortable than the last Premier Inn I stayed at! ooft….I couldn't do my usual 8 mile morning jog in the morning after sleeping there!!!
Paul is up for hire, he doesn't know it yet mind! 😅
Great Update Richard! I love the Premier Inn, it really gives the layout a modern feel. The O Gauge sounds like it’ll be great, great up the good work 👍🏼
Just need some overtime for some loco pocket money! 😅
I need to get chips now, I’ve got about 10 locos that need chipping :O
@@UrbanTransportVideography I'm sure Tony will do discount on 10 😅
New Junction, haha maybe. What about a auto coach to run with the panier tank?
@@UrbanTransportVideography you buying me one? 😅
Lovely
Thanks
LoL... So Paul at GH was making it for you! Cool. Just watched his video. Great view of all the work, especially underneath. Also enjoyed the look at some different trains you have either not run in a while, or not focused on.
Thanks Anthony, it's good to change up! 👍🏻🤣
Lucky guess by me on Galgorm Hall's channel!!!
Haha yes!.
Another excellent video, now where do I begin with my compliments? From the scratch built Premier Inn, to the Network Rail rake, and the RAF Centenary Northern Rail sprinter (which gets us ex RAF types get really excited [When it is not a jet fighter]) along with the Arriva trains. I'll have to award it to the camera work for bringing out some unusual shots from the station throat and the convincing intro where you felt you were looking at a real mainline station with the excellent city backdrop of the hotel. (Congratulations to Paul on a convincing scratch-build). I hope you don't mind me suggesting sticking either a grain of wheat or an LED bulb underneath shining on the track to replicate the track gauge measurement coach.
Thanks and I'll take your suggestions on board
Ah, it as a gimbal not a slider. Nice vid mate.
Yep haha non of this professional gear like you! 😉
Wait a minute I’ve just watched Galgorm Hall part 1 building this very hotel then immediately after put your next vid up and there it is. Before I let your vid run I had to go back and check I wasn’t confused.
Haha yep he is the master behind the premier inn
With all the arriva trains , it looks like Shrewsbury
Galgorm's Travel Lodge looks just great, look forward to the O gauge build, which I had to suspend building my layout, after moving onto a narrow-boat! just got mobile internet router far better than trying to view video's on the phone!
Surely you can have a thin but really long layout now haha
I agree with Graham Morrison here, imagine a layout produced by you, Richard and Dave - wow' ...loved this video' the opening shot, low level looking to the low relief looks real (bar the blue showing through the PI windows) superb Autumnal bushes. Just a thought, the O gauge, could that run behind the storage unis - close to the wall? maybe, boxed in with a tunnel and the storage over the top? ...keep up the Fab work'
Not quite as the curve is too tight, dont worry I have an idea... 😅
Rich, excitings times ahead with O Gauge i recommend watching a particular channel of the name Dave cooper who makes videos of pete watermans layout its amazing what they have made, The grass is actually Teddy bear fur trimed and painted/dyed will give you ideas if you do decide to scenic the area. The layout is coming on nicely keep it up. Pete
Thanks, I've followed that channel for a while now! 😀
@@NewJunction it's amazing ain't it the details they have added
Great update Richard I wonder where the new junction coach will end up next lol I too have stepped out of my comfort zone too and done some interviews coming up in my next video.
All the best for now .
Brian.
Ooo I look forward to that Brian!
Great stuff Richard, that 156 looks the business on New Junction.
That O gauge is looking fantastic, you'll need some bigger ballast lol
Can't wait to see how you solve that logistical problem with the hobbyzone sets.
It's going to be fun! 😁
With the o gauge, look up some of Ian feuters layouts as he produces very nice small o gauge layouts.
Will do thanks! 👍🏻
There's never enough smalls storage!!
If you add about an 18" deep table top extension in front of the storage unit & nove the storage toward you, you'll make clearance to run track behind the unit. Just a thought.
Good.idea!
Yes have a little tunnel at the back still put some storage on top of it I can see you busy working away with the O Gauge train going around, could use it to deliver food and drink to you from the hatch! Lol
I didn't realise that the hobbyzone drawers were that small!!!!
Just under and A4 face size
My new layout is coming together see you at the NEC 2020
Nice running session Richard. The jury is still out on the Premier Inn. I will wait until you have added the finishing touches. Why does everything modern have to be squares or rectangles? Just like most modern cars looked like Jelly Moulds and then Toyota brought back the lines and made the best looking car in Thailand. Bring back some style in model railway trains. But, then I am old school. Steam trains had it, they were living breathing smelly, dirty and unfriendly to the environment, but people loved them. Martin (Thailand)
Ha old and rectangle
Are you controlling the O Gauge train from the hornby controller?
Richard you know the Lincoln exibition there's was some guys had there layout vandalised don't know if you seen the news bout it I just wonder if they got it all sorted I was gutted when I seen photos in news just hope they got it back together 🤔😊
Which one was that Mark?
@@NewJunction there was a exibition layout by a time of blokes absolutely stunning some kids got drunk and broke in and smashed it beyond repair they did get done I think they had to pay some money or there parents but this was a 30 thousand pound layout think it was in the metro newspaper bet they was devastated seeing that it was bad seeming photos defo was Lincoln
Hi Richard I have had a thought for your hobbyzone storage boxes, what you can do is you can move them forward then get the rest of the o guage loop behind it
It's a bit tight like that, we shall see what works 😅
Arriva looks good on NJ, (I’m not biased because my logo is Arriva) ;-)
Guessing that 158 was DC
All DCC
New Junction Ok thanks for telling me, just the lights on the unit were triggering me ;D
Hi Richard I hope you will enjoy the Lincoln model railway exhibition I like the new hornby class156 dmu but I prefer being in BR provincial livery I also live about 30 miles from paul of galgorm hill I have been taking with paul in ballymena in the last couple of months ballymena is about 30 minutes a way by rail from me I do like the look of at premier inn model goodbye for now clive
Thanks Clive! I'll come see you when I visit paul 😁
Hi Richard yes that would be great Richard you could visit the Ulster model railway club which i'm a member of mate my layout does not have much in the way of scenery at the minute but plenty of action mate clive
Hi Richard, loved the layout update, the 0 gauge is coming on, we was just talking about that at Milton Keynes, i have a small idea for ya, you know you was saying your going to have trouble with your hobby zone units and the track, i was just wondering do you have enough space under the hobby zone section to lower the track under the baseboard? that way you wont have to mess about to much in getting the space, i know you might not be able to do that but its an idea for you to think on. keep up the great videos mate.
It's a good idea that, I'll look into it and see if its possible. 👍🏻
Hi Richard loving the channel . Just a thought for the o guage would it loop behind the hobby zone if the same was budged forwards to accommodate? Keep up the good work cant wait for the next update, cheers, Martin
Hi Martin, it doesn't quite fit however I think I've found the answer...
Hi Richard the hotel looks excellent will you be putting the leds in like the picture I like that network rail unit does your other half go to the shows or is she happy your out the way lol mine does go to the shops with me but I do ask her if she likes some locos cheers Paul
Mine does come with to some, she likes the trains tbf. Yes the premiere will have lights like the photo. 👍🏻
Great video, how did you connect the select controller wires to the 0 guage track. Thanks DB
Thanks for sharing - as usual. '0' gauge wagons are very good value when compared with '00' it seems to me.
Yes, sadly.the 0 gauge coaches not so much.
@@NewJunction You are not kidding!
The layout's looking great, as always, RIchard. Paul really did an awesome job on that building flat. (Haven't seen the premiere yet, but I will). Really gorgeous running shots (as expected from you) - thoroughly enjoyable! But I have to say, I really like the O scale stuff! My dad set up a massive O scale layout in our living room each year for Christmas. I mean, really massive! Your O scale stuff brings back very fond memories (even if the prototypes are all wrong, lol). Best, John
Its refreshing to to have to loop where I can run what I want. 🤣
Wow
Thanks 😁
👍👍👍LG Konrad
Thanks
Gr8 job as always really enjoy the channel will you be attending the national festival of railway modelling in peterborough december 4th 5th i think it is??
Sadly it's not penned in yet. 😭
Are you planning to have fun with figures in the Premier Inn windows?
It has been suggested 😅
I totally endorse the comments from Graeme Morrison. Cheers Greg
Thanks Greg, and thankyou for your continued support over the years! 👍🏻
Kindest regards
Richard
The scratch built hotel looks amazing... Have you got enough height to lift the Hobbyzone storage units up so the curve that end can go underneath?
Yes I think I do
@@NewJunction Worth seeing if it will work?
Awesome layout! What dimensions is it as I don’t remember hearing them through the vids?
It's around 11ft wide on top by 17ft long
Is the bachmann Arriva class 158 good
Great update mate, think the class 156 suits your layout 😉 love the workbench but for a solution could you lift up a bit and run the o gague underneath?
Cheers Craig
That's my favoured option currently 😁
Lower level looking awesome but didn't you say "just a track loop - no stock" a few weeks ago for the O gauge?
I knew you wouldn't be able to resist 😊
Gerry I have a problem 😅
Hi Richard i would be most great full could you please could you let me know where you got your clear plastic for you stn canopy from and what thickness is it thank you. PS great layout Richard
Hi Tony, it came from ebay and its thickness is 300.
Hi Richard- I watched Paul's video yesterday and I must say he is a talented guy and it looks really good on the layout also enjoyed your interview with Dave too and that must have been a hell of a long day !!! Whats your opinion of the RAF 156 I love the livery but have seen mixed reviews ? Cheers Kev
The 156 has a stunning livery but is a basic model, with some weathering and lights it could be superb for the money.
Yep that’s what Dave said . Looks like I am going to implement Rule 1 and run it Down South 😀👍🏾 Cheers Kev
hi Richard if you want cheap trains go to hattons pre owned
Definitely
@@NewJunction have a look at the website
Love the video, the layout is looking great! I can't help but wonder if you've been inspired by hornby magazine's test track, who also have a 00 gauge layout on top with 0 gauge below or if that's just pure coincidence
Busted! 😅
Would you like some off my class 91 LNER carriages
What DCC controller are you using with your O gauge trains please?
Guess what I just saw on a "Galgorm Hall" video ?
No idea? 🤣
Hi New junction. Will you be just running trains around the new o gauge track or do you intend to do some shunting? cheers david
Bit of both when funds allow some points! 😉
@@NewJunction Looking forward to see the build progress cheers david
Considered sides on that O gauge drawbridge? I know a derailment on a straight is unlikely but...
Yes it will have full sides asap lol
Hi Richard, great video. I love the sound of the trains running over the track. How do you make that happen?
Gaps in the track help. 😀
But not too big
Hello,
Great layout, keep the video's coming.....
Question for you, your one section, you have catenery, are going to add to the rest of the layout and how and what catenery did you get, use?
Keep up the great work!
Hi Dylan,
I will be adding it at some point, the stuff I've used at the moment is dapol stuff.
@@NewJunction Would you be able to do a video on that?
@@dylanheaton4055 oh yes! 😅
@@NewJunction Great, many thanks!
Do you use underlay underneath your track? If so, what type?
Yes I use cork. 👍🏻
i love your layout. i mena i love the class 90 too where did you get it from
correction class 66 freightliner
Rainbow railways
@@NewJunction thank you :)
I love the new premier inn building on your layout. But weathering it would make it look more realistic. Like the lower are of your layout, very organised.
Thanks Jamie! Maby one day I'll get the weathering brush out lol
Nice video once again mate, ending song name please?
Erhling - Typhoon
@@NewJunction Cheers my man 👍
Hi Richard, Where did you get your station Lights from, Cheers James
They're DCC Concepts 😁
Hi New Junction I was just thinking that for Christmas I might ask for a Bachmann Dcc ready or sound 00 gauge train but I don’t know if you can run a Bachmann train on a Hornby Dcc controller I was wondering if you know the answer? Thanks
Yes you can, hope that saves christmas!
Thank you that helps a lot
What's the matter with your hands?
Nerves
@@NewJunction it something you need to work on m8

Why keep using the word MY, we know its yours and in my opinion it is not good videographer skills to keep expressing that
I've lots of annoying ticks on camera 😅
