Wow! Just nailed it. This video was excellent. I love MofW dioramas. Your layout, and channel is so genuine. I like how you "Bring it to the table",approach. Thanks for the channel, and your generous talent Sir.
Brilliant improvement!! You should paint the rails that are lying around to a rusty colour because that is how they are delivered to a worksite. They only turn silver on top when trains run over them :-)
That detail is excellent, you really can set a scene, and well presented video wise as well. On my layout, in one section that has been balasted, I have removed the track pins as they stuck out like sore thumbs on my track cam. I do intend to use coloured plasticine just to push in the holes as full camouflage. Barry.Devon
All looks good mate. Don't forget to add an important detail! The C, T & Temporary speed restriction boards. I bought some brass ones from Eckon signals a while ago. A must have for line side work sites. Very impressed with the lights. The whole scene is really coming to life.
Cheers Richard for a super video but best of all I placed an order with WWS for £94 but only paid £79 with your discount code, quite a saving, thank you, Bill.
Absolutely amazing scenery Richard! It looks amazing! You did it like an absolute pro. I might try something similar to this in the sealand central yard James
Hi Richard, It`s amazing what a little green grass can do to lift that section of your layouts. The lights for working at night are excellent......Congrats Cheers Greg
Hi Richard, great video and I like the improvements to the scene at the new junction. Any bits of detail always adds and make a scene look better, and what you added was just about the right amount. Regards George...
OMG them light units look awesome on your layout - very smart addition to assist the workers Now you can keep an eye on them when they’re making tea.. 😉 Great stuff 👍
Great video richard enjoyed the music in the back ground, the scene has made a massive difference the lights look really good cheers Beeton Hough Junction (Dave C)
@@NewJunction no problem richard, slow at the moment ive got my track plan down on paper just need to buy boards and some more track and points put it down loosely and runs stock to see if it all works once ive sorted it out i need to figure out the fiddle yard but the main layout hasnt started having to insulate the loft but will be putting up a video showing the project cheers Beeton Hough Junction (Dave C)
Richard that was awesome to watch ive now started to make my own bushes from foam pads put green in there looks great you need a tamper machine there now lol
Your have yo get the paint brush out now Freightliner has been taken over! great update, for a messy modeler your quiet tidy, The lights are great for the Junction, going through a few photos of Scotland last year (NC500 on a GS), I stopped by Ardlui station (near Loch Lomond). I realized this could be what I am looking for in modeling, Island platform with a short 3 road sidings, which I could model as station in middle with 2 shunt yards
May I suggest you watch a few You Tube videos first, & go West to East (wind will more likely will behind you). & enjoy also visit the Smoo Caves at Durness, Midge season starts end of May!
Looks nice, the only slight stain on it is the creased back scene. A completely flat back scene does wonders for the illusion of depth, creases kill it. 15:13, oh dear, one of your workers has keeled over, lol.
great details there, as someone who works on the track you've certainly captured the feeling of a renewals job. I like the idea of adding a ballast pile - maybe the old ballast which has been dug out so it has more of a browny colour as you have the autoballasters there to drop the fresh stuff. Have you thought about adding some temporary speed boards or a look out on the passing line too? Keep up the good work
You could fit a 10mph speed restriction when on your avoiding line to protect the workers. Normally you would have the 10mph speed limit sign with a 'fan tail' to advise the driver of the approaching TSR, then you would have another 10mph post showing the actual 10mph start, once the train passes the work area you would have a 'T' for Termination sign showing the line is now back up to normal speed limit once the last wagon/coach passes that sign. If you want more info www.railsigns.uk has a section all about TSR board. After a quick google there is a seller on ebay called jmupton2000 who is setting BR/NR TSR boards. If you have any questions about track engineering or renewals I'll be happy to help! Sorry for the long reply too!
Nice work there... it came out well. There's one thing that is missing... a manager on the phone! LOL! How many railway workers does it take to change a lightbulb? 4. One to change the lightbulb, two to hold the ladder, and a manager supervising while talking on a mobile phone!
Love the improvements to the New Junction. What about putting the guy with the Jack Hammer on an electric toothbrush and on a random timer. Not my idea, saw it done on that TV show Great Model Railway Challenge. :-)
Excellent video Richard, very informative. A little suggestion, if I may. I think the sound quality could be improved if you invest in a wearable microphone?
Fantastic video, I have a question about your overhead wires (catenary) . Are they scratchbuilt or proprietory? In either case are they operational or dummy. Fab layout by the way!
Ade Yes I have to agree about the music. Really distracting and quite annoying and it undermines the great work you’re doing on the layout. I’m sure you’ve watched some Everard Junction vids...he likes his rock music but only inserts it when he’s not talking. Keep up the good work!👍
had wondered if you or any of your subscribers have any thoughts on layout insurance as my fleet grows I am wondering if I should consider some it's not a subject that's been covered on the channels I follow could be a topic for future video all the best al 👍
