At times, obstructions move, high tides, storms change as you noted. Watch for crawdad traps, commercial or recreational. I troll and close to the levees, and occasionally snag up. There are many old landings especially in the old river, sometimes submerged. These old landings supported agriculture in the old days, hay for horses and food for down river communities, including San Francisco.
Nice video. Here is a hazardous spot for everyone. Going north on white slough right before you approach the crappie bridge where a bunch of people fish. On the east side of the slough about 40 feet from the bank kind of at the point right before the bank turns back in towards the bridge, there are 3 submerged cars in the water. It's a tricky spot because if you go around the area towards a little tule, it gets really shallow. So to safely get threw you have a small avenue. I see tons of people blow right through there which is nuts on low tide
Great job, Nick! The delta is such an immense area it can be overwhelming if you are not familiar. Learned a lot from this and will definitly use for future reference. Tight lines bud!
I fish piper on that little franks spot frequently. There's some crazy stuff going on right there. Passed it a few times slowly in a 14ft aluminum. One day tide was low I saw birds standing on a row of big boulders. Haven't crossed there since🤣🙏
There is a wooden structure. Maybe an old dock, with long bolts sticking up on the east bank of old river about half mile south of Frank’s within sight of the first island. Fun rip rap bank for squarebilling on windy days but those bolts could put a hole in the hull even at trolling speeds. At high tide with stained water you can’t see it.
Over at Mildred - PG&E sunk the pipe after many people hit it and complained. Anyone going to Orwood at low tides is careful had a few spots at 2ft. I hot a ding on my prop that needs to get fixed.
Appreciate the heads up! We just started fishing on our tracker! Definitely doing my homework now! Is there a list of lakes we can drop our boats in here in California
Great video very helpful I’ve been out of Big Break and Sherman island area seen many hazards and ran into a lot of shallow water that was before I bought my hummingbird with navigation chip I go out in that area a little more now but it is still spooky to me. Is that map available for purchase. Thank you so much for the information
Whole bunch of pilings that are just below the water coming into big break on the left hand side splitting that little island. Bent my prop shaft on one

Wow what an awesome video! Great info!
You need to post info regarding the post 3ft apart

Yes!! Thank you, Bass Hookup!
Awesome info 👍🏽😀
Great idea. Maybe go a step further and start a face book page and call it something like “ca delta hazards”.
That would be something really good

Could you help me with mildred and little Mandeville hazards?
Is this a trick to get me to spill the beans on my secret log spots?
Lots of hazards unfortunately.
Don't worry about it, Newsome is going to drain the delta anyway
Like a 7 min intro of repeating before any actual advice.
