Not only the birth place of Theravada , this land is the actual birth place of Gothams Buddha. Yes we agreee at the mo there is no Theravada Dhamma ( still about 5%) , majority are Mahayana. If you truly a truth seeker, you just need to find the actual facts and confirm to yourself the truth, not in India, it’s Sri Lanka. The British Coloniser distorted our history .

This is a completely inaccurate account of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It is not a slight on the presenter. He is only narrating the version of ammended historic account. Buddhism was not brought to Sri Lanka. Buddhism and teacher of this path Lord Budhdha (yes ALL of them) were born, enlightened and taught this amazing dharma in this country, Sri Lanka.

Prince Siddhattha was not born in Sri Lanka. He was born in what is modern day Nepal.
And not all Buddhas could have been born in Sri Lanka, because the world has transformed so much through the countless aeons.
I'm also a Sri Lankan and a follower of Buddhism but I never knew tha the Lord Buddha was born in Sri Lanka. 😂
