Today is the day when I get to explore the sacred and historic city of Anuradhapura. The history of this place goes way back to the 3rd century AD. I tried my best to interpret the history to fathom why Anuradhapura became one of Sri Lanka's important cities.

    ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and RUclips creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on RUclips, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on RUclips.

Why do people draw upon the negatives when videos of religious Icons and sites with historical value are presented in a beautiful light? What happens in Myanmar and other countries around the globe belongs to those countries. Keep it in perspective! There is no need to trash religion. Learn and appreciate the beauty of history being presented.

The tooth relic is an important relic that decided the royal line of SriLankan history. It was a belief among SriLankan citizens that you should protect the tooth relic inorder to claim the crown. So it was moved around a lot around SriLanka with the main kingdoms to keep it closer with the king. This tooth relic caused clashes between clans of india and SL kings. Therefore it was provided with the maximum security. I reccomend you to read about the history of tooth relic because I find it very interesting. Thank you again for doing this amazing imforative v log.

the eight elements of the noble eightfold path are:
    1) correct view, an accurate understanding of the nature of things, specifically the Four Noble Truths,
    2) correct intention, avoiding thoughts of attachment, hatred, and harmful intent,
    3) correct speech, refraining from verbal misdeeds such as lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and senseless speech,
    4) correct action, refraining from physical misdeeds such as killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct,
    5) correct livelihood, avoiding trades that directly or indirectly harm others, such as selling slaves, weapons, animals for slaughter, intoxicants, or poisons
    6) correct effort, abandoning negative states of mind that have already arisen, preventing negative states that have yet to arise, and sustaining positive states that have already arisen,
    7) correct mindfulness, awareness of body, feelings, thought, and phenomena (the constituents of the existing world),
    8) correct concentration, single-mindedness.

God is universal if you say god is limited to one country then the world religions would not spread to different countries so stop saying buddha is either nepal or India, his teachings are important not his nationality...

Awesome Video Syifia. As a foreigner the way you explain the history of Sri Lanka is wonderful. Non English words you pronounce are slightly difference than original , but your beauti add another level of attactive throughout the video till last.

I was at this site on a very holy day. Thousands of people. They were so calm waiting to get in and no pushing. Very respectful of others. Very different from India. Loved this beautiful country.

you are the first of the travellers to do a piece on Anuradhapura. and your history is spot on. Most others just do the regular tourist places. I hope Sri Lanka Tourism is sponsoring you.
