Fantastic documentary. I thank the Thai people for helping to re-introduce Buddhism into Sri Lanka. Thank you for showing the peaceful harmony of all religions, which is at the heart of religions. I have been removed from my home lands, for several generations. My pride and joy and humbleness (if this is not an oxymoron) in the devotion of my ancestors has really moved me. I wish I could go back as soon as possible to help my country of origin. Thank yiu.

Why should this narrator lie, about Sri Lankan Custom of offering meals. Do understand, there is no other country that enjoys offering food to anybody - particularly those who visit the country. This tradition was never "lost" but gained more and more and uptodate Alms giving, treatments meted out to the strangers without prejudice. It is a pitiy that the narrator failed to pronounce a single Name properly or at least nearest to those great names of Buddhist Shrines.
The narrator is most likely referring to the tradition of monks and nuns going on piṇḍapāta which is not a very common practice in Sri Lanka today. In Myanmar and Thailand this is a daily routine for most monastics. Of course Sri Lankans are very generous offering dana at the monasteries every day. I totally agree about the horrible pronunciation 😂
Good to see such sincere practice with asceticism, may these monks achieve enlightenment in this life and escape the rounds of rebirth once and for all.
