Everyone's karma is different. When conditions ripen, individual consequences come. Thus, commendable that you have a good intention in life to look forward to. Nobody (no human) actually knows what will happen to you and speak for you or about you in twenty year's time. Importantly, you know a positive seed is already planted in your mind, in wanting to be ordained. "Sadhu" [Factually, one of Buddha's disciples was ordained when he was aged.] Thus, do not be disheartened by the opposing views of others. Take care of your health now, make plans and take actions as you see opportunities coming.
Do it now, maybe for a week or a month or so, to try if you enjoy or not because it is not easy being a forest monk and especially nobody knows how long they will live. We like to think that we will still be alive until we get old and frail and will die in old age. But, nothing is certain. Life is unpredictable. So, take some time off from work and family, then go and do what you want now. Wish you the best.

Forest monks got a thing for pogroms too, they’re not all flowers and bunnies. I doubt this group in the video were involved in the slaughter of a Muslim village that happened a few years ago but it was Theravada monks that did it. They killed everybody.
I don't know... I was getting a certain strange vibe from these monks, like they are simply living their lives in a rote manner, rushing through the paces of their routines without much stopping to appreciate the moment. No warmth, no smiles, no real interactions even with each other, much less with the people in the lay community who they depend for alms. I'm starting to research where to study meditation and perhaps receive ordination in Thailand. I was already ordained as a Zen Buddhist monk almost 30 years ago, but stepped away from the life in the temple to create one in society. Now after all these years I'm revisiting this calling I feel inside to meditate and live a quiet life of contemplation. The life of a forest monk is attractive to me, however some places resonate more than others. I understand it's not about the ego, yet finding a place and teacher that resonates in one's soul is important. This would probably not be the place for me . . .
@@branonlamphere9624 Ok, I read about it in Myanmar. That's been an ongoing problem there, of Buddhist led resentment towards Muslims and specifically the Rohingya. The situation in Thailand seems to be quite different.

I am food alergic person thats the reason i could not decided to be a monk. If you want to do it Pls do it. Being a forest monk is kind of searching for peace that Buddha showed us. Wish you good luck Sir.
You can most likely be a layman practitioner.

This video is pleasingly informative, and the effort to have produced it should be greatly appreciated.
There are as many videos on RUclips as there are sands by the sea. But this video is something very special. It stands out in terms of meaning. I consider myself lucky to have seen this video.
Buddhism is the true understanding of yourself, your mind and where it leads to and where it ends. It's truly unbelievable!
I am so lucky to be one of a Thai Buddhist.

Forest monks got a thing for pogroms too, they’re not all flowers and bunnies. I doubt this group in the video were involved in the slaughter of a Muslim village that happened a few years ago but it was Theravada monks that did it. They killed everybody.

This is too beautiful. What a lovely lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.
This would probably not be the place for me . . .
Forest monks murdered an entire Islamic village in Myanmar several years ago.
@@branonlamphere9624 Really? Why? I'll have to research that...
@@stonew1927 Myanmar 2013, not Thailand. I was wrong but it was close to Thailand.
Myanmar is mostly Theravada Buddhists.
@@branonlamphere9624 Ok, I read about it in Myanmar. That's been an ongoing problem there, of Buddhist led resentment towards Muslims and specifically the Rohingya. The situation in Thailand seems to be quite different.
@@stonew1927 To me it just seems that all religions are stained in blood. Before I found out about what happened I used to believe than Buddhism was beyond reproach. It’s not, everything made by man is dripping in blood😞
Wow this video is so peaceful.please make this type of video more.🙏🙏
Yes, don't worry for tomorrow because it has not come
But we need to plan for tomorrow in this world😊
“To rid worldly desire is purified one mind” so a monk life is good to find oneself in this life👍👍👍
