- Flying With Friends For Lunch
Once again this year I'll be flying in the Give Hope Wings fundraiser! Our June 2024 flight will see us stop in communities in Eastern Canada to raise awareness for this worthy cause.
Last year (2023) we raised over $27,000 towards helping our neighbours - we made a positive difference in the lives of many.

Great video, Glen, and it was really nice flying with you and Donat. Can’t wait to do it again!
It was so much fun!
I worked hard on my last vacation to "live in the moment", instead of having the best photos upon my return, so I applaud your decision to enjoy the day! You did have some great shots, anyway!
Yes these trees need to be cut : ) Outstanding You Tube Pilots Creators !!! Cheers !!!
I completely get the "living in the moment" and missing the "cool bits" with the gopro's and, at the end of the day it's all about flying the plane first, and the footage second!
Great edit Glen. It's nice to see how both Kamal and yourself went about the editing process. It really does show 3 different perspectives on the day. Let's do it again soon!
That was a pretty cool little clip. Nice to see Mike Victor Uniform from the other plane’s perspective.
Just realize I subscribe to all three of you guys
Hi Glenn. Great video. Have been following you since last year. I am also based in CYOO and am also a photography buff. Would love to connect some time.
Sounds great! Are you in the T hangars?
Tailwinds is such a great spot on a summer Saturday, with the float traffic too. I can't wait to someday fly in there myself.
If you don't occasionally have to pick the leaves and twigs out of the landing gear, then the trees aren't that tall! 😛😋😝 At the airport that I learned to fly at, we had two runways and both were about 1,800'/600m long. The approach to 18 was over I-95 (In Connecticut) and there was a hill off of the approach end on the other side of the highway. We didn't take off from 36 for obvious reasons, but if you needed to go that way, you could use 33/15. That runway didn't have a hill. But, the approach path, because of the shortness of the runway, put you directly within a couple of feet of the trees. Unfortunately, back then (mid to late 70s and early 80s) the safety concerns weren't expressed as much as they are today, and people tended to be a little more lackadaisical than they are today, and we didn't fly with the safety concerns that pilots would today. But, there were days when I picked a couple of leaves and twigs out of the landing gear when I taxied in.
That airport is long gone now, which is probably a good thing.
Been cooking with Glen for a while now, but flying for the first time, despite a bit of flying phobia. But hey - with Glen's signature "it'll be alright" I wasn't that worried 😊
Ya know, thats an easily fixed problem... stop turning the camera off! ;) 😂
Great filming of you all, you can see the fun flying with a group of friends.
Great video, as always. I cannot wait to get back up in the air.
I was waiting to hear "Too close for missiles, switching to guns"
Looks like a blast, Glen! I recently landed at Orillia for the first time.
Rwy 12 was a bit more fun than expected. I hope to run into you soon, around Edenvale or Oshawa 🛩️.
You did lunch at Tailwinds? That's one of my go-to restaurants. Like watching the zoomies land and take off, and I love the food and the ambience of the place with the airplanes hanging from the ceiling.
Yes - Tailwinds is a great restaurant.
when the wives are away the boys will play!
Happy St Patrick's Day everyone ☘️🍺
Ya'll need to stop at the Hangar Kafe in Miller MO! fly in and get a burger :) also there's Gaston's on White River in Lakeview AR!
Flew over Gaston's last summer when we flew down to the family cabin in Arkansas. Hopefully next time we're down we'll have time to fly around and visit some of those places.
Plane really does look good in base polished aluminum and red accents, but I bet it's hard keeping it looking that good.
It's difficult for sure, lots of time polishing.
you know, Trillium Aviators is looking for a new leader/coordinator. 😉
I know; if only I had the extra time to take it on.
It'll be sad if the group dies - maybe a group of us could take it on and split the work.
so confused about your audio in the plane, sometimes it's clear, sometimes it's distorted, sometimes almost incomprehensible--could you do something on airplane headset audio sometimes and talk about why it's so distorted sometimes but not others, or for some planes but not others?
I just haven't completely dialled in the audio yet - and frankly for me audio and camera is always forgotten about once the engine starts. Flying the plane is the only thing I think about after start up. So if the audio is set wrong or a camera quits, then there's nothing I can or will do about it.
Before I started this channel I flew with a RUclipsr who scared me with how much time he spent during the flight fiddling with camera and audio settings... Surprised he hasn't ended up as a topic on @blancolirio
Love this video!
Nothing against the other pilots, but you have nailed the cool factor with your plane.
what are fuel prices up there?
100LL is around $2.70 Canadian / Litre. Which converts to $7 US / US Gallon
Thank you for taking us on your adventures!
PLEASE NOTE: Unlike Canada, In domestic US operations, 123.45 is *not legal* for air-to-air chatter. The correct frequency for US air-to-air is 122.75. See AIM 4-1-11 table 4-1-3; Advisory Circular AC 90-50D; and FAA Policy 6050.32B Change 1.
Even in the airspace we were flying in 123.45 is the designated air to air for gliders / soaring.
@@GlensHangar Yep. It varies by country. In the US, 123.45 is supposed to be only used by civilian aircraft manufacturers for flight tests.
6:15, what is Air Work?
Practicing safety and critical maneuvers like slow flight, stalls, spins, high bank turns. The sort of thing that requires a little extra concentration, and in some cases things you hope you never need to in order to get out of trouble.
Practicing - stall, spins, etc.
