- I recently got the iPhone 13 Pro and have been roaming around the North Cascades in Washington to see what this phone can do. As a minimalist, I love the idea of simplifying my setup and using my phone to vlog. Like they say, the best camera is the one you have with you…thanks for being here ♡

Hey :) I’m Christian Schaffer, and I’ve lived on the road full-time since May 2018. This journey began in 2013 when I left the corporate world to build my career as an outdoor adventure & travel photographer. As a semi-minimalist, I eventually decided to donate/sell most of my belongings and move into my 4x4 Nissan Xterra. After 14 months of SUV living and falling madly in love with the open road - I bought a van and hired a team to build it out. Van life enables me to experience and document the beauty of our natural world on a whole new level, all while having my home and office nearby. My hope is that by sharing my own personal highs and lows along this (sometimes) wild journey, you might be inspired to hit the road or spend more time outdoors. Maybe one day I'll see you out on that open road 🚐

I enjoy following your story quite a bit but, the main reason I watch your videos is for the natural scenery you provide with every video. It's absolutely stunning! I really enjoy your videos, and find them so fun and relaxing to watch. My husband and I are going to travel around full time in a year in a travel trailer, so I'm loving all of your organization idea / safety idea? and so much more. On a side note, I think the travel channel should give you your own show. You speak so well, and bring us all on your adventures with you so that we can all see things that we may not otherwise see. This is such a valuable resource for anyone who wants to start a RUclips channel and thinks they need to get a fancy camera. So many ppl are going to have this iPhone just because that's how it works- and it truly is all about using what you already have! I am not a lover of Apple, but back when I still had an iphone, that's all I filmed with and I know lots of other content creators do the same. Technology is crazy!

First time I have checked out your travel vlog, I normally watch Kara and Nate (which I still enjoy watching). As I try and begin my own journey their equipment is out of my budget range. This is why I was searching on how to use my iPhone13 Pro Max and other freebie type stuff like iMovie etc. RUclips brought your channel up as the first recommended source to watch. I’m glad I did! Truly enjoyed this video. Keep this type of stuff coming, I am subscribed now. The more details from filming to sound to editing etc. much appreciated.

It’s amazing how far mobile phone camera technology has come. Obviously it can never compare to a dedicated camera and lens kit, but to be honest, for a device that can fit in your pocket and doesn’t feel like carrying a brick, the images are wonderful.
You definitely have an eye for capturing beauty in landscapes and nature. The iPhone seems to keep up with that talent. Beautiful!
Switzerland and Austria?!?!? The hiking views were incredible and I can't believe how sharp they were on this phone. Loved the macro and zoom up to 9x too. Crazy good. Share everything-mountains, food, accommodations, fun times, mountains! Switzerland and Austria?!?!? Safe travels!

Have to love the Cascades, especially during the Autumn. Looks like the iPhone 13 camera is a worthy opponent to the majority of other choices out there right now...albeit, a pricey one at that. Makes my old iPhone 7 plus look as thought it's due for an upgrade! Living in the southwest portion of British Columbia, our weather is much like the Cascades, or generally the same as Washington state, so as you probably know, we get what we get, and live with what Mother Nature hands us, and glad where given the privilege of seeing the 'next' day, after sleeping the night. Live every day to the fullest, and we appreciate you sharing, realizing the time and effort of getting the video and the editing process! Stay safe, and look forward to your next video!
