Yes, I'd love the finance comparison video - apartment versus van etc. I love that you're able to find a really comfortable space to lay low for awhile and have a cute companion in the process.
I just enjoy being able to watch others living 'alternative' lifestyles like this. I guess I sort of live vicariously through you! Glad I found your channel. :)
I would love to hear about all three of your next video suggestions. Finances, parking and staying safe, and an updated van tour. Keep up the videos Christian!
Appreciate the honesty about needing a break from van life. Is the piece I think most fellow vloggers don't share. For sure would love the update on van builds. I would love to know what you wish was done different (added), and what you don't even use, and thought you needed.
Thanks, yeah I don't think I would love van life so much without the breaks here and there. It keeps me in adventure mode when I'm out there on the road 🤓
I’m so glad I found your channel! I am almost 60 and have been a professional pet sitter for, right at, 16 years. During these years of pet sitting, at different times, I’ve been watching videos on becoming a nomad when I retire, so to see I could still do some pet sitting gigs later in life and not be stuck in the southeast is VERY encouraging to me!! God bless you!
You are highly skilled at producing very interesting content. You have a gift at putting a storyline together with many scenes, camera angles and music. Very professional and intriguing to watch. Always anticipating the next episode. Thank you.

Stunning as usual. I didn't know van life, was a thing till recently, now everywhere I look I see sprinter vans. funny how that works. Great work Christian keep it up.
These videos are super helpful and very candid about the reality of VL. I just began my VL journey on May 1st and the first 3 weeks were hellish as the transition was brutal on me. I am just now feeling better about it all and settling into it. The thing is, doing VL is such a learning experience about yourself. Thank you C!
Congrats on making it through the first three weeks! It's definitely an adjustment but as time goes on, things will feel more natural. And I couldn't agree more - it's an amazing way to look inward and grow as a person. Cheers 😊🙌🏼
"campervan sitting" is an awesome way to travel and enjoy new life experiences. this is the best "campervan sitting" channel by far...lots to enjoy here
I'd love a video about food shopping and cooking in a van! And this may seem random, but I'd also love to learn how to caulk well (since you mentioned that in this video)-it seems so hard to do flawlessly (or even near flawlessly). And oh my goodness, that dog is SO cute! God bless you!
Small opening on your nozzle head. Many make the mistake of making it too big. Even pressure on the trigger, don't go too slow...want a nice steady pace.
Food shopping and cooking would be a fun video to make! tbh I don't know much about caulking...I just watched a YT video and then gave it my best shot. It really helped to put down some tape along the edges. That's how I got the clean lines 🤓
@@ChristianSchaffer It looked so beautifully done in your video clip (that's a great tip about the tape)! Can't wait for a food shopping/cooking vid! And I absolutely loved the shots of the Tetons in your most recent video. I've never been there-it looks so beautiful.
@@ChristianSchaffer Unfortunately when you use real tile on walls, you have to caulk. It's too bad the person who designed your van just didn't use a plastic tile backer. If everything is level, caulk wouldn't necessarily be needed with that. Just something to think about if you ever remove the tile.
Jackson Wyoming what a beautiful place , grand tetons love that place , it has the most amazing views, such variety, hot springs, waterfalls , sulphur pools and guisers, lots of them hahaha , great choice to settle and chill , well after the list of van things maybe chill 🤣, 2 months of home life and that cute lil dog as a companion , love the hair colour , great video 🤗👍
Great to see you "Making it work for you" Christian. That is super cool. One of the few people with a truely pragmatic approach to the reality of this kind of lifestyle. Love the videos and how you share. Thank you.
Jack is one gorgeous, well, handsome, dog. My cocker passed away last week and I was looking forward to at least one more road trip with her again. We've crossed the U.S. coast to coast four times. Gracie was 14, living longer than expected. I may look at another dog and Wheaton Terriers are pretty cool pets. My van life begins the first of September and my brother, Joe, has already asked me to housesit while he and Dana go do mission work in China in October. So, it'll be a short beginning for my van life. However, housesitting on a beautiful lake is a nice trade-off and with use of his Harley Road Glide. I'm really happy to have found your channel, Christian, as you put out the information we need to know and not what we want to hear...that van life is all rosy and peachy keen.
I admire how strong you are! And the balance that you have. I was lucky enough to be married to someone with those qualities, it was amazing to watch her grow every year with each experience. I hope to find that again someday. I am converting a sprinter van now. Thank you for the videos.
Your photography is amazing in the way you shoot the film. I love everything about the filming. I'm speechless with the talents you have. I know you learn from other photographers as well. Great clip and I love your video. I can understand that when you get burnt out being on the road, but you still love living on the road of adventures. You have a lot of good connections with good people. Keep doing what you love. It's the only happiness you can strive for. Great job, Christian.
At the risk of being redundant 18 seconds into your video is another fine example of the Converse "Outdoor Adventurer" high tops hanging out over the canyons. ;) I'm still getting caught up on your vlogs. Although some of them I've watched several times because they are so full of priceless content. Thank you for sharing. 😷 Safe Travels 🙏🏻
Greetings from Alabama. This was a well-crafted video: wonderful clips, great editing, personal storyline and the victory of finding the sweet spot between traveling and recharging. Fare thee well, storyteller…
There is lots of upkeep on vehicles - and like you said always keeping tabs on levels ... Great plan get a reprieve and house sitting! Another beautiful area.
I really enjoyed the video shots of scenic wonders in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I am an amateur landscape photographer and have shots from 2001 and 2003 of many of these same locations and was able to recognize many of the places in your video immediately, like Oxbow Bend, etc. Thank you for sharing your work. 2 things that may make your van life easier ..a 40 gallon water tank and a 2 way drain system (valve) so if you use biodegradable soaps you can drain your water on the ground ...you can also put a bucket of any size where drains out if u don’t want a puddle under van and just empty it 10-20 feet away occasionally ..or the valve could drain into 5 gallon container if in city or not biodegradable.. I saw this in another video and the guy had a small hole in floor of van for water to drain ..he loved it ..changing 5 gallon clean/grey seems like a pain .. :( But all the joy is more than worth it :)
Thank you Christian. Two years in a real commitment to the van life style. That doesn't mean that time doesn't change your needs or wants. I've been blessed to share your journey for about a year and a half. I've enjoyed every moment. If you decide you're done some day I hope you don't disappear. Hope you would give us a chance to say good bye, wish you well and give voice to what we have received from you. Ciao.
Another great video, love your lifestyle, energy, enthusiasm and outlook on life! Beautiful inside and outside for sure.. Thanks from London England 👍💪❤️🙏😎🏴
I dig it! To be honest, I don't know if I would be happy with *just* Van-Life: The ability to "debrief" and "recharge" at a more traditional domicile, from time to time, helps bring "Kimi" (focus), and that "Chi" (energy) back into one's life. It's why I still keep a house, tbh. But I enjoy the Hell out of the modern frontier living of Van-Life, and try to fit it in with a sense of balance. :-) And yes, the pet-sitting, I imagine does help add to that sense of balanced grounding; your personality and attitude on these videos, show with those pets. They enjoy you, just as you enjoy them. And it's awesome. Stay Awesome, Christian!
You are doing such a great job with video and documenting your Van lifestyle! BRAVO! I admire your spirit and energy and the drive to keep doing this, which I am sure has it's challenges but also many very incredible moments! You probably have experiences and see nature in such a way which others may never experience in their entire lifetime! Way to go! Keep it coming! :-)
Balance is good and doing a bit of everything but still committed to your dream is what matters. If it is good for you then so it is. Love your footage. Great to see some more of your resources and van tour. Thanks for sharing. 🙌👍
Outstanding video, seeing the large moose in his natural habitat, they are awe-inspiring animals, the amazing massive bison, interesting thermal geysers and the snowy grand teton mountians :-) Thank you for bringing us astonishing outdoor videos and your hard work and effort is greatly appreciated !!!!!!!
Nice video (subscribed), great ideas and good points on needing to keep balance in life. Amazing footage of my two favorite places, especially the Tetons. I just love those mountains and that region, and try to swing over there when ever I'm in that region. Hopefully this summer I will make it out there again. Some of the shots looked like they were from the Upper Teton View camp area, an amazing spot for sure. The fall colors were amazing in your footage. Took a look at the photos on your site, amazing! You have skill, talent and creativity. :-) Safe and joyous travels! -John
I spent some time in Jackson and the Yellowstone as well and was just blown away by the nature. I live in Germany so I was not used to such an intense experience, even though I was hoping for it when I planned the trip. Wyoming started my desire to visit one breathtaking place on earth each year and I managed to keep that up. I know you have your van-life in the US, but if you ever make it to europe again, consider traveling to northern sweden and norway, especially in early or late winter. It is a true adventure with lots of snow, auroras and wonderful people.
Thank you so much for the video good suggestions! One for you, most cities have drive-up recycling center to get rid of that unwanted packing materials.
Great shots - and when I live in a van I’m going to do it your way with the occasional house/dog sitting. Thanks- a video on unexpected expenses during van life. Your photography, editing, and aesthetics is much appreciated. Thanks again.
Ciao Christian! I love all your videos, but this one in specific is very beautiful, what a beautiful place you are staying now, and Jack is just frigging gorgeous haha! I'm a fan of your artwork, it's just amazing, thank you for sharing Christian and please give a kiss and a big hug to Jack for me 😘❤
Well I must say your looking refreshed. Hope you have some fun travels scheduled. Keep up the van life. My van made it's first week get away. It was a lot of fun tripping back up to Washington and seeing friend in Crescent Bar and Issaquah WA. Around Bend Oregon out!
I'm starting my TruckLife journey at the end of this month and Jackson has been at the top of my list forever! Love the videos and thanks for all the ideas and information. See ya out there
Definitely the finance comparison would be informative. Always look forward to your vids it is like an update from a long lost friend. Scenery is always gorgeous and it was nice to see the Tetons again, been awhile.
Thanks for another great video! I totally dig your gear recommendations. Your simple SUV conversion page was particularly helpful, as I'm kind of doing what you did by starting out in a Grand Caravan, rather than a full size van. I felt like I struck gold when I found it. It is replete with gear wisdom that I either wouldn't have thought of or would have spent hours and hours researching or tons of headache and trial and error. You have saved me a lot of time and money. You are the best! And I would find either the finances or the parking, etc. video equally helpful. Thank you so much!
Thanks Erick, I'm so glad you found it helpful! Starting out in a smaller vehicle has so many advantages - one of them being that if you ever decide to get an RV/Van, it will feel like a mansion haha.
@@ChristianSchaffer Agreed! I used to deliver freight in a ProMaster hightop... that disco-party-in-an-empty-van feeling after dropping off load and finding a good parking spot for the night... lol
@@ChristianSchaffer The van is so much more stable to drive and has much more ground clearance for getting off the beaten path. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it a lot. Now I just need a curtain for behind the drive and passenger seats :)
Thank you for your amazing videos! Yes like and subscribed! Finances while on van life please! I love how you shared the responsibilities of living a van life and taking care of it to dos. Not a walk in the part. Thank you for keeping it real. 1. Finances 2. Parking 3. Updated van tour. I love how simple, minimal and fresh/zen like your van is!
Lovely to see all the beautiful landscapes of the Western states! Thanks for sharing , you've given me wonderlust! You are now one of my cyber-friends love your videos, Christian! Jack is so sweet in these takes!
Hi Christian, so nice to see you. I have always liked your stills and videos, but this particular time, wow! Just gorgeous landscapes and drone shots. And to see Bison and Moose roaming free like that was really wonderful. Wyoming looks like heaven on earth. I live in NYC so anytime I can get a dose of beautiful nature like this it makes me yearn for it. On a separate note, I am so glad to see that you are taking care of yourself by taking some breaks when needed. I think it's important for one's mental state. So I am glad that you are willing to take stock of yourself and doing what's needed to recharge. There is no shame in that. I look forward to your next video.
Thank you so much - yeah, Wyoming is just gorgeous. I saw two baby moose roaming around yesterday and thought, what is this ...narnia?? Definitely worth the trip out here 😊🙌🏼
Hello Christian, I am just watching this vid now in July 2023. I just, adore you photography and Videos. Cannot believe you are a Home sitter/Pet sitter. Its what I do, over in the UK. Keep up the great Videos and enjoy the sitting. From London, England.
I think vanlife looks amazing and like a lot of fun at times but I know a lot can go wrong and not be so fun. I think having a plan b is always essential I definitely would get burnout plus driving around constantly for places to sleep, washing clothes, and the maintenance of the vehicle can be overwhelming at times I'm sure I love how real and honest you keep it good tips.
You and I are on the same page. I also figured this out after ~a year of full time van life. I’ve been a full time nomad for a little over two years now and I too for various reasons periodically get Airbnb’s or motel rooms. And you are beautiful.
Thanks for posting another great video!!! 😊 The scenes are amazing!! Reading the comments you will be making a finance video!! Looking forward to it!! 😊 Ya looking amazing as always!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊

I know you have your van-life in the US, but if you ever make it to europe again, consider traveling to northern sweden and norway, especially in early or late winter. It is a true adventure with lots of snow, auroras and wonderful people.
I would love to see Sweden and Norway, hoping to make it over to Europe this fall 🤞🏼
Love the footage from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons!
Always enjoy your videos!
Thanks James!
Thanks Robert! I'm a numbers nerd so a financial video will be fun to put together 🤓
Love all your videos sharing the life style I can’t make with kids! Hopefully I can be on road on day 3/4 time!
Ciao Christian! I love all your videos, but this one in specific is very beautiful, what a beautiful place you are staying now, and Jack is just frigging gorgeous haha! I'm a fan of your artwork, it's just amazing, thank you for sharing Christian and please give a kiss and a big hug to Jack for me 😘❤
Thank you, Zeus 😊 Jack is such a ham, going to miss him for sure
Yes to a monthly finances video! Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I must say your looking refreshed. Hope you have some fun travels scheduled. Keep up the van life. My van made it's first week get away. It was a lot of fun tripping back up to Washington and seeing friend in Crescent Bar and Issaquah WA. Around Bend Oregon out!
Nice! those are some beautiful places
All those ideas for videos sound great
I'm starting my TruckLife journey at the end of this month and Jackson has been at the top of my list forever! Love the videos and thanks for all the ideas and information. See ya out there
Hell yeah, a 4x4 out here on the forest roads is the way to go. So many beautiful views
Wow, what a great gig!
Yes to the parking video!
Your Videos are awesome Christian !! Being on the road looks tough !! 👍
I'd say it's only tough 20% of the time 😉 Like most things, you just get used to it
@@ChristianSchaffer I notice you eat veggie or Vegan !! How do you get protein ? Powder I guess I know a lot of people go Vegan !!
OMG Love your work!! Your photos are just amazing. Your photography skills apparently translate to video very well. And, cute dogos! 🐶❤
Thank you Erica 😌💕
Definitely the finance comparison would be informative. Always look forward to your vids it is like an update from a long lost friend. Scenery is always gorgeous and it was nice to see the Tetons again, been awhile.
Thanks Jim, love hearing that 😊
Love your videos and the honest approach to van life. Definitely an inspiration to me as I plan to do what you do.
Christian I really like your content. Thanks for sharing the ins (house/pet sitting) and outs (being on the road) of Van Life. You rock!
Thanks Shane 🙌🏼
I used to deliver freight in a ProMaster hightop... that disco-party-in-an-empty-van feeling after dropping off load and finding a good parking spot for the night... lol
Sounds helpful-- which video?
Gorgeous photography
I updated the van shocks and wheels based on your suggestions and it’s amazing!! Thanks so much for your help!
Oh nice! They make such a difference, especially out on dirt roads
@@ChristianSchaffer The van is so much more stable to drive and has much more ground clearance for getting off the beaten path. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it a lot. Now I just need a curtain for behind the drive and passenger seats :)
Fantastic way to make that lifestyle sustainable long term!
I love everything about your videos 😌
Aw thank you 💕💕
Photography and Visuals are amazing and love learning about this way of life
Thanks so much Leo ☺️🙌🏻
Thank you for your amazing videos! Yes like and subscribed! Finances while on van life please! I love how you shared the responsibilities of living a van life and taking care of it to dos. Not a walk in the part. Thank you for keeping it real.
1. Finances
2. Parking
3. Updated van tour. I love how simple, minimal and fresh/zen like your van is!
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate your input too 😊🙌🏼
Lovely to see all the beautiful landscapes of the Western states! Thanks for sharing , you've given me wonderlust! You are now one of my cyber-friends love your videos, Christian! Jack is so sweet in these takes!
ahh I miss Jack - he’s such a ham 🐶
All great ideas for future videos, also maybe nomad etiquette in terms of trash, noise. Thank you for sharing your gifts :)
That's a great idea. Thank you 🙌🏼
Hi Christian, so nice to see you.
Heyyy fellow housesitter! 👋🏻☺️
Thanks Lisa! Yeah, there are for sure some downsides to living on the road. But so far, the pros definitely outweigh the cons 😊
You and I are on the same page. I also figured this out after ~a year of full time van life. I’ve been a full time nomad for a little over two years now and I too for various reasons periodically get Airbnb’s or motel rooms.
And you are beautiful.
Yeah, the pet-sitting and occasional stays make such a difference! Congrats on two years - that's awesome
Thanks for posting another great video!!! 😊 The scenes are amazing!!
Reading the comments you will be making a finance video!! Looking forward to it!! 😊
Ya looking amazing as always!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks Jonathan - working on the finance video this week 🙌🏼
Great decisions to create balance. Good on you!
Great idea to do house&pet sitting amidst the photographs and videos, mixed in with mobile van lifing here and there
Yes to all those video ideas!
thanks Patricia 😊
Nice video! Keep talking about vanlife! We need more of it 😅 it’s addictive 🤣

The Jack break was really great 😊
