    8.11.2021.

What an amazing interpretation by this amazing pianist. It's so sad to hear that he passed away. I was only introduced to him a couple of weeks ago and starting listening to his incredible recordings and then to wake up in the morning and hear that he had died. RIP maestro.

Hehe, Bruce Lee :-) yes, Zoltan always had this hair as long as I remember since I was little (grew up in Budapest) - and was just as accomplished and composed - a BORN pianist .. who obviously brought much knowledge into this current lifetime .. the type who already sounds refined at a young age.. a machine of perfection ..

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but at the start of the 5th page where the tune goes into a minor key, there is a turn on the note c, and the note after the turn is a Dflat. Should I play a Dflat in the turn or not? I think it sounded like he played it as a Dflat in the turn in the video. Thanks

Don't kill me, but i'd like if he were a little bit slower...specially at 8:44, my favorite part...too fast

@Esmeraldaviolin: Yes, I hope to post the D. 960 soon. A great recital, and an almost-great DVD that's let down a little by audio problems. I've tried to improve the audio a bit, but as you will notice there's still an annoying distortion at higher volumes. Unfortunately the distortion seems to be mastered into both audio tracks on my copy of the DVD. Thanks for your comment, and best regards, G.W.

GWM: the two composers are not that far apart anyway. The early Beethoven sonatas sound rather classical.

Beethoven was the last great flowering of the Classical era who took us into the Romantic era, as did Schubert. Some of Mozart's last works began this journey already, such as this fantasia or the "Sturm und Drang" of the Symphony in g minor...
