She was one of the greatest Chopin and I this case interpretation of Mozart...such depth of understanding musically. May she be playing in heaven before God almighty. Although this piece was for harpsichord harpsichord 6:09
Haunting piece, and a magnificent performance. I consider myself truly fortunate for having had opportunity to see her perform live in Jones Hall in Houston, TX.
One of Mozart's most stunning works, the fantasia an homage to Bach but also adding a warmth and emotional depth, and then the sonata, drama, excitement, unlike so many of his other chamber pieces and a forerunner to Beethoven.
I always loved Bach. Some years ago I discovered this piece, written by Mozart and played by Alicia de la Rocha. It is absolutely beautiful ,misterious, remarkable, deep. I didn't know it is an homage to Bach. I listened to other great pianists but this is the interpretation I like most.
I have listend to tens of performances of this coupling and I have to say that imho Ms de Larrocha's delivery is the most convincing and least affectatious of all the pianists I have heard, with F Gulda's coming a very close second followed by Ms Uchida''s, but of course, each to his taste.
She certainly brings forth an elegance and repose to the piece (k457). She's not without affectation though very subtle and sparce. As Donj Cohn says below, try Afred Brendel. I think I've listened to his rendition about 5 times today. It just rings true for me. (I'm working on the piece now).
My favourite part of this piece is the transition from gloom to sweet at ~40s and i'm afraid, for my taste, this pianist is much too mechanical, too staccato and too precise....very little emotion even in this simple to play part which really rewards thoughtful expression inc rubato and dynamics. You can't please everyone some of the time......
You might like Valentina Lisitsa’s interpretation of k475. It’s so versatile and can be beautifully played in a traditional classical style or a more emotional romantic style.
This runs through my head all the time, not note for note but THE SHAPE of it moving like a murmuration of starlings: it seems like a living creature.

Interpretation beyond human understanding...
I remember hearing her debut in NYC in Carnegie Hall. Memories for living so long at 88
What a relief to hear beauty amidst our country's sad disarray politically.

A beautiful and deep interpretation, presented in a joyous bravura spirit.
Brilliant!!

Listening to this a second time on 17 December 2017
Excellent very idiomatic playing
Un' intelligenza e raffinatezza interpretativa unica
Brava!
Wonderful touch ~ thank you !
One of my two favorate interpretations of Mozart's fantasies. The other is by Maria João Pires.
excellent description!

TRY Brendel please.
Tried and much prefer Larrocha.

oh viche mon dela pa funtastic!
A great cmposition, though not easy to play, by Mozart.
Rien n'est facile à bien jouer.

Yes, for example, interpretation of F.Gulda is more emotional.
Noacks Tegrinde Well this is Mozart not Lizst.
