It’s funny that we Filipino we like to say guisado which is in English it means stew, but technically what she was making here is sautéed bitter gourd (ginisang ampalaya in tagalog, I believe) now if we will say it in Spanish this will be Called calabaza amarga salteada.

I always add curry powder to make it smells good and a lot tomatoes will also make the bitter gourd less bitter :-)
