I can't say enough about how good this pork chop turned out. I had two bone in chops about 1 in thick. I didn't follow the recipe exactly but I tried. I did the brine as described and put it into the fridge. Then I watched the video again and realized I forgot to heat the brine first. So after a day of sitting in the brine, I pulled it out boiled, simmered, and cooled the brine and did it again. Then I made the marinade according to directions and painted the chops. Due to my schedule it sat there another day. Then I cooked my first chop in a cast iron skillet on the stove top, pretty much according to the video directions. It was very good and I was happy with it. But here is the rest of the story. I put the second pork chop back into the fridge for one more day. I had wanted to cook my chop either on the grill or in the oven but didn't. So for the second chop, I had a little more time. I seared the pork chop in cast iron on the stove top, 3 minutes per side, then put the skillet and chop in the 375 deg. oven for 15 minutes. At 10 minutes I stuck a thermometer in the chop. Oh. It was already at 150, so I pulled it out and let it rest 4 or 5 minutes while I continued to monitor the thermometer temp. It got to 155 and stayed there, so I considered it done. I sliced into my pork chop and could not believe that first bite. This was the best tasting and juiciest pork chop I have ever eaten. I could not believe I made this. I think it was restaurant quality. If I bought this at a restaurant, I would be very happy with it. All the brining and marinading time was unintentional. I just had things going on and couldn't get to the chops when I wanted to, but boy was it ever worth it. Best thing I ever cooked. Thank you, thank you FoodNatics.

Have made this recipe around 3-4 times now, and it's become an instant favourite at home. The only thing I do differently is cook the final chops in butter and keep the garlic from the brine to add to the pan while frying the chops. Thank you so much. This is amazing!

Was a little hesitant to try this, but let it be known that this is one good recipe. Followed instructions and instead of the fry option, the grill was used. Seared the meat 3 minutes per side and indirectly finished them until the temp read 155 F. Covered and rested for 6 minutes and sliced them. Chops are moist and flavorful. Will definitely use this recipe again. Thank you kind sir.

What appealed to me with this recipe is the brine & the simple marinade. However I condensed the soak time for the brine to 30 minutes, and the marinade to 40 minutes since I used small pork chops that were 1/2 inch thick. The results were delicious! This recipe is definitely a keeper, thank you for sharing it!

I made this for brunch and had it with scrambled eggs and an english muffin slathered with butter and Bonne Maman Sweet Orange - Passion Fruit Spread. The only thing I did different was added butter to the skillet and basted the chop after turning it over. It was freaking delicious! I haven't had a pork chop in decades but grabbed a couple at the store on a whim yesterday. I'm so glad I chose this tutorial. Bravo! Bravo!

Great video! Just a note of caution for those out there with stainless cookware: putting salt, especially course salt, directly onto the bottom of the pan and letting it sit can pit your stainless cookware. I pitted my brand new saute pan the first time I used it as I did not know that salt could do that to stainless. Most cookware companies warn against using salt unless the liquid is first brought to a boil.

Did this recipe just now, very good dish. Easy to follow for a unexperienced 18 y/old to cook, 💯.

Brining for 24 hours was the best outcome for me. 30 minutes wasn't enough.

i literally made this for dinner tonight and i had to come back to comment. i hate pork in general but my bf loves it so i’ve never made pork anything before - but i made some for my bf and i and it was actually really good. the pork was beautifully tender and the marinade added so much flavor. thanks for the recipe ! can’t wait to try some more. 😄😄

Well I feel like I’m continuing on with the trend but I have to say it as well. These pork chops had the family chanting my name tonight. Thanks for the help in making me look like the cool husband who can cook a mean pork chop. Gained a sub.

I follow this w/o using paprika and just added garlic seasoning turns out really good. Just marinated it 10 minutes but believe me!!! I Punch the pork many times that the sauce can absorb. 😍
