In my 300RUM, I run 92gr of Retumbo with Norma brass, and Fed 215m, pushing a 200gr Accubond 3145fps with stellar accuracy, like .25 moa. This is from a 26” barreled Fierce Fury. It is an elk hammer.

Thanks Gavin and Guy for showcasing one of my most favorite go-to powders for my 28 Nosler. Heavy for caliber bullets and rutumbo get along very well in the 28 Nosler and puts more speed out of the muzzle than anything I've used. Keep up these great videos!

I’m using Retumbo in my 7mm Rem Mag Tikka T3X superlite 23.5” barrel. I’m using 72.5gn in Peterson brass shooting Berger classic hunter 150gn going 3122fps with an SD of 7.1
I’m finding I can get the first two bullets touching at 100m then the third hangs out there a little but still shot 0.58 MOA. Took it hunting and shot a red deer stag, a fallow deer buck, a pig and a yearling fallow spiker. I love it. 4 from 4 hunting.

I have been using Retumbo for years now. First in my Sendero 7mm Remington Magnum for lots of years, and then about 2019 started using it in my Savage 110 Tactical chambered in 6.5 PRC & also in my Bergara B-14 HMR chambered 6.5 PRC. Punching 20"x24" steel plate up to 1250' yards with .140 grain Nosler RDF's. Holding about 20 thousands from lands, loading 56.5 grains of Retumbo, I really like that Bergara!

Pushing 140's with 58.0 grs with a COAL of 3.045 gave me 3003 fps, ES: 9 and SD: 3.7 (Brass: Lapua, Primer: CCI 200). 57.2 gr. pushing the 153.5's to 2944 fps with COAL at 3.056, ES: 16, SD: 5.9 (Brass: Lapua, Primer: Federal 210). Good to hear. I've tried 8133 with 153.5 and couldn't get enough in the case. RL26 had plenty of room left. Figured Retumbo might be the Goldilocks powder for 6.5 PRC heavies.

Savage 110FCP HS Precision Bolt Action, 338 Lapua. 92.5 grains of Retumbo under a 285 ELD-M, touched off by a GM 215M primer. SD of 3 and ES of 7. 2798 FPS. The funny thing about the RUM is the heavier the bullet the better performance you get out of it. I have a 32” barrel on my RUM and I’m getting 3100 fps with the 245 Berger’s with no pressure at all. Awesome performance I use it in the light ELR class out to 2500 yards

It isn't funny, it makes common sense. There is more consistency in bullet weight with heavier bullets. They also have more bearing surface. It's a no brainer they will shoot tighter groups.

I use retumbo for my 7 mm rem mag and my 300 win mag , great powder 👍😊 I get a kick out of all these new cartridges coming out, I think they make them to catch the shooter, nothing new.. they already have old cartridges, that do the same thing.. 243,270 , 30-“06, 7 rem mag and 300 win mag.. it’s all about bullet placement and trigger control.. people get carried away with all the b.s.. there’s a lot to be said for flinch factor.. I use 7rem mag with Bergers and it will do for just about any game.. getting a gun with the latest greatest cartridge, doesn’t make you a better shooter, practice does..

I use Retumbo in my Nosler M48 rifle chambered in .28 Nosler. The preferred load fuels a 168 grain Nosler AccuBond LR tipped cartridge at well over 3200 fps. I tried force feeding it the same bullet with H1000, H4831, and US869, because that's what I had at the time. It refused to perform. Now it shoots flat and hard hitting sub half inch groups all day long.
I tried it in my .30-378 Wby with 180 grain AccuBond bullets, but wasn't impressed. It likes H50BMG much better. Just goes to show you, handloading is the only way to get the maximum use out of the big bangers. Just like a baby, you never know what it's going to like best until you try feeding it different food. I call it the Gerber Theory. [Laffin' 😄]

Excellent vid & review. I have only recently used Retumbo because I wasn't able to get H1000 for my 7mmRemMag. I am pleased & impressed with my load development & results. I have only used it with 162g. ELDX. Excellent groups & decent SDs. I have an interesting question for you gents. Over the years I have consistently observed H1000 apparently "heating" up barrel quite quickly. It is noticably heating up faster than the 4350 & 4831 powders I have used mostly. Accuracy seemed to be hindered after 4 shots with most charges.
Retumbo surprised me. My 2nd 5 shot groups were as good or better than the first. That has not been the case(for me) with H1000. I need to give the barrel a good bit of time to cool after first 5 shot group if I want follow groups to stay consistent & tighter. Any thoughts or suggestions? Well done men. Thank you.

I am using Retumbo in a couple of 338 Lapua's I have, both with 93.5 grains. One rifle with 300 grain Berger Elite Hunters going 2835 fps, kills moose dead from a long ways away and close as well, ask me how I know. lol. The other rifle shoots the Hornady 285 ELD-M at 2866 fps. and is also crazy accurate.

I’ve used reloder 22 as well in my 7 mag for years and get excellent accuracy at about 3040-3050 fps with 162 eld-x. Reloder 26 is my go to powder now for my 7 mag though because I’m getting right at 3200 fps with the same bullets and my accuracy is still excellent. I’ve used retumbo for my 7 as well and actually got the best velocity out of it compared to any other powder I’ve used. However, the accuracy wasn’t there in my rifle so that’s why I stick with reloder 26 & 22.

Why not get a muzzle brake? Large magnums really benefit from a brake more than other cartridges. You can get up to 60% recoil reduction if you choose the right brake. All brakes are not equal, so you need to do some research.
