Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky are the only Nintendo Games that have ever made me actually cry, on multiple occassions. God damn, do I love those games.
The plot, soundtrack, emotional power and design of Mystery Dungeon is one of the best ever in the videogame world. The most underrated games of all time, only because there's "Pokemon" in the title
Nukleòs The game even gets pretty damn dark at some moments, such as the guildmaster's assistant _literally_ getting critically injured and at one point your own damn near-execution followed by a chase in which you actually begin to question whether everyone will even make it (I am RARELY unsure of outcomes, I almost always have a prediction. It is rather uncommon I guess wrong, it is _rare_ I literally can't even make a guess). Now I'm unsure how much is changed in Pokémon sky's story from the orher counter-parts Time & Darkness, but I am pretty certain that the changes are largely gameplay.
FORMINCRAFTIA The main story in Sky is exactly the same, just with a few minor dialogue changes and an extra chapter in the post game focused on Sky Peak and Shaymin. However, the five Special Episodes give the supporting characters, like Bidoof, Wigglytuff, and Grovyle, a lot more time to flesh out their own stories. Some of these Special Episodes are just as heart wrenching as the main story, (especially Episodes 2 and 5) and I'd recommend Sky over Time or Darkness just for them.
ClefairyRox I already have time, so I don't really feel like replaying the game for only a few chapters, so Imma youtube that- if at the expense of some of the expierience, but for a story as great as this game- I can probably get just as sucked in.
It's honestly one of the few (Possibly only) games I've had to play in like bites because the story just wrecks me. To avoid spoilers I'm not gonna say which one, but I bought one back in September 2015 and have gotten about halfway through it because of the bite-taking. x)
rabbidluigi hell yes i agree with number 1. its still my favorite pokemon game and it totaly needs a sequel. we need more. plus you never even mentioned how long and expansive the post game is lol
rabbidluigi All very excellent choices. I was hoping pokepark would make the list. I think it's an underrated game. I also would love it if another Pokémon XD was made. That game shaped my childhood.
May I ask where Pokepark 2: Wonders Beyond is? That game, imo, is pretty good. The first Pokepark was, meh. But Pokepark 2 was a HUGE improvement. Better Battle Mechanics, 4 playable characters, more zones, a really good storyline, and lots of fun minigames!
Fun fact: We almost got a Pokemon and Fire Emblem crossover, but Game Freak told Intelligent Systems that they were already crossing over with Noabunga's Ambition to create Pokemon Conquest, leaving Fire Emblem to eventually cross over with Shin Megami Tensei instead. Thus, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was born.
truepixartronphan If this meant another SMT game, I'm happy with it. TMS might have a shit localization and a kinda bad story but the combat is fun as fuck
Conquest is perhaps my favorite Pokemon game ever. It's very different, has a very large postgame, and is much more fun than any other spinoff and maingame. Main games and Mystery Dungeon may have story, but gameplay goes to Conquest, no doubt. Shame how it didn't sell, though. The lack of comments talking about Conquest and instead talking about Mystery Dungeon makes me want a Conquest sequel even more.
The post game was an absolute quantity over quality, though. It's basically just a few different campaigns told from different perspectives, the gameplay's pretty much identical across all of them, and the special one where your own character gets to team up with Nobunaga was disappointingly devoid of plot for something with so much buildup.
I liked Conquest, but Once you finished your turns it always became a bizarre stalemate. Every time it was the enemy's turn he just took one of my kingdoms that had under leveled pokemon
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot: the AI is pathetic and level designs clearly weren't thought through. You can effortlessly defend Avia with just the weakest flyer you have just by running away for ten turns. They'll never catch you and it never dawns on them to maybe send more than one Pokémon.
You know I somehow predicted no. 1 given how Rabbid fawns over the Fire Emblem games (Still haven't forgiven you for the KH isn't an RPG line). For me though the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games will always be my top, at least of the spin offs I have played. Plus dear lord the 'ending' to the first arc in explorers of sky may have been sad but my god is the last special episode of the game even moreso.
the one winged angel Oh I can see that Chain of Memories isn't so much of an rpg as it more a card game since everything is based on cards. I'm more referring to the time he did a list of JRPG's and left KH off the list cause he and his buddy considered it a 'hack and slash' which I found bs to be honest.
I currently own a phone which I use to play GBA games on emulator, but I wanted to ask if Explorer of Sky is a GBA game.I know a mystery dungeon game is,but which one? Also,RabbidLuigi said WHAT about KH!?
Arashi Vallerioda Explorers of Sky is a DS game so unfortunately no. But the first of the series has a GBA version: Red Rescue Team. And yeah, back on his best jrpgs list he left KH off the list cause he didn't consider it a proper rpg and more of a hack and slash.
Explorers of sky was the best game ever and because of the last special episide, I legitimately felt sorry for Dusknoir in every new playthrough. I once found myself screaming at him to warn him about what was coming
Excuzzle you, but Ranger is awesome. It introduced riding Pokémon two generations early, SoA had the best enemy base infiltration level this side of MGS, and GS had you convince a rainbow duck into shooting down the Death Star with lasers.
I'm definitely gonna try to pick up both SoA and GS when i get the chance. I had the original (that I found out had a manaphy on it, since I got it on launch when I was a wee baby)
Linebeckable Only one I've played is Pokken Tournament, and I'm not the biggest fan of fighting games so I sold it rather quickly. Doesn't help that I suck balls at fighting games. Need to play more Pokémon spinoffs.
YES!!! Holy moly this was a perfect Top Ten, hitting every single sweet spot. Starting off with the Gameboy TCG and finishing with Conquest? Not forgetting Colosseum (MINIGAMES OMGGG) and SoA in between? PERFECT. After being a subscriber for such a long time, this just convinced me to FINALLY check out your Patreon. This was fantastic, GREAT JOB YO!
Got to number 1 and I was for sure thinking Conquest never made your top 10 and was about to flip. SUCH A GOOD GAME!! Where's this conquest sequel at?!!
Pokemon Colosseum and XD are still my favourite Pokemon games, mainly, because of the setting. It is so different and badass unlike the main games, I really wish, that the Switch Pokemon will be in style of Colosseum and XD. Mirror B and his catchy music must come back!
When I started hearing the XD gale of darkness song and Colloseum song, I was so happy and got thrown a nice bit of nostalgia! thank you for including them as so few people actually know of them when they were the games that introduced me to the pokemon franchise and I have wanted a new game in the series forever!!
Exactly! I cried for a while after beating the main story the first time and every time after. Even though I know what happens, it is just impossible for me not to cry at that part (and even a little bit at the part that involves Grovyle and Dusknoir right before it).
8:22 It is in the second game in the form of the Little Cup. In fact, it is arguably harder in Stadium 2, especially in 'Round 2' (R-2), the hard mode of the game. But by giving vitamins and the right moves to your team members for these cups could make the battles so easy.
Tristan Crawford I saw that in the Sun/Moon demo, that's pretty cool and maybe it could be a callback to that game. I have yet to play the full game though, I'm gonna be getting myself a copy of Pokemon Moon sometime this week or next week.
The Chaos Dragoness it's not as in-depth as snap was (usually you just see a single pokemon going through an easily memorized pattern), but it is quite fun as a small distraction.
I'll never forget the first time I played Pokemon Conquest, my dad picked it up for me as a Christmas gift because of the Pokemon label but I can't even begin to describe how addicting it was. For me, this game was the best thing to come out of gen 5.
I needed a video to watch while at work and came across this one. Pokémon Snap came up and a sequel was wished upon. I wish we could go back in time and tell our past selves that wish did come true
I was honestly surprised Mystery Dungeon wasn't #1. I've only played Explorers of Time, but Super PMD looks really fun and I love the gameplay of the series.
jedimasterpickle3 I know, and nearly the whole series is amazing too- and even really dark at times. I mean, they nearly killed off characters- not capture or separation, but nearly KILL- at some points.
FORMINCRAFTIA Time/Sky/Darkness had some freaking feels, man, and I've heard SPMD is up there as well. I mean, it was made by freaking Spike Chunsoft, and that *kinda* makes me wonder if any Danganronpa writers worked on the game.
Dude! Super MD is AMAZING! Literally made me fall in love with Ampharos! And Mawile! They're so awesome in that game! The ending is crazy, I won't say a thing, but...enjoy =D
When I saw you knock that charmelion into lava, I rejoiced because I remember always doing that with my cousin when we were really young, but I coulnd't remember the name of the game. THANK YOU!
I started grinning like a madman once I recognized the music in #1's entry. Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention the amount of content #1 has, as that's easily one of, if not the biggest selling points of the game.
I would pay SO MUCH MONEY for another entry in the colosseum/XD series. I love the story in both those games - and the music is one of the best in ANY game EVER, in my opinion.
You have no idea whow happy you made me with the placement of Conquest on this list. I poured so many hours into that game, the only game i played more of was HeartGold.
8:24 The Petit Cup was technically there, but it was renamed the Little Cup and was toned down to level 5 only. Unless you were thinking about the Pika Cup.
I've spent way too many hours on Pokemon Conquest, and I definitely have many problems with it, especially as you put more and more time into it. Just wanted to put that out there for all the wonderful people here in the day-old comments.
Pokemon Conquest is actually based on Dynasty Warriors. The characters, Nobunaga, Mitsuhide and pretty much every other warlord, including the hero, are in Dynasty Warriors. Nintendo later made a second crossover of the games being Hyrule Warriors
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series are the games I play whenever I'm too bored with the other games in my roster. It's just such a fun nostalgia trip and MD Explorers of Sky, whoo! The only one in the series which I have completed almost entirely, restarted with different pokemon and loved it as much as the first time i laid eyes on it.
I'll always hold the Colosseum games as an example of everything that the mainline games should aspire to be. Sure, they took out catching wild Pokemon, but what they gave us in exchange resulted in what I still consider to be the best Pokemon experience I've ever had. Especially the original Colosseum. Sure, XD may be mechanically improved in every way, but it lacked the grittier atmosphere as well as the absolutely badass protagonist of the original game.
I think I read somewhere that Japan actually got 2 Pokemon Stadium games first and then they localized their second one. Then they got Stadium 3, which was localized here as Stadium 2. That's why it said that Japan's Stadium 1 didn't have mini games.
I'm happy that Conquest and a Mystery Dungeon game were involved! I loved them both immensely. Including both Colosseum and XD Gales of Darkness kinda felt like a cop-out, but it's whatever. They're both great!
As soon as I heard the Pokemon Colosseum, I think it was Pyrite Town theme, I had shivers down my back. This was definitely a great game. Kinda wish you used Miror B's theme though.
on the topic of number 3. Yess is is so awesome. The best part for me was the after game where you find out the characters actually had lives afterwards. they didn't have that in the games that followed.
Yes! Finally! Somebody who gave PMD: Explorers of Sky enough credit! I love that game so much! Maybe a bit more than others since it did helped me discover my love for story writing coz of it's deep and well done narrative.
I find it funny that magikarp, of all pokemon, has the best theme song of all the individual species of pokemon that even have theme songs. Most of which are legendaries, I might add.
It's sad that I haven't played many of these pokemon spinoff games (only played pinball gen 1 and pokemon snap). Many of these spinoff games I heard were pretty good and I always wanted to play many of these choices especially the mystery dungeon series and Pokemon Conquest.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is a series that doesn't get enough attention, I feel, at least not where it deserves it. PMD2 was the first time I ever cried at a game's story, and that alone puts it at number 1 for me. I won't spoil anything but when that one track of music comes on at the end of the main story during that one scene..things get sad, indeed.
I'm probably one of five people here who played Pokemon Puzzle League. Sure it's literally just a reskin of Panel De Pon, but I'll be damned if it isn't fun. Also, Pokemon Snap was pretty awesome too. The various different ways of thinking outside the box in many parts of the game was incredible.
I'm very happy with the number one pick. While I do love Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, I happened to love Conquest as well. Of course, playing all of the main stories were a bit tedious in order to unlock a second campaign with your main warlord.
My top ten (one game per series): 1. Pokémon Trading Card Game (GBC) - Perfectly captures the card game while giving an adventure similar to main series. Nintendo should translate the second GBC game for eShop. 2. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (DS) - I love Mystery Dungeon games. Unfortunately, the later games went downhill from here. 3. Pokémon Pinball (GBC) - I prefer the original. It doesn't have the greatest pinball physics but the gameplay is so fun, it doesn't matter. And you can actually see Mew without glitches. 4. Pokémon Snap (N64) - Classic. Everyone loves it. Needs a sequel. 5. Pokémon Conquest (DS) - Great strategy game. I should go back and play more since I didn't do much after I completed the main story. 6. Pokémon Picross (3DS eShop) - I love Picross games. Has a great variety of puzzles. There are some annoying things thanks to being free to play game but you can complete it without ever paying money. 7. Pokémon Shuffle (3DS eShop) - I've been playing since the launch of this game. Almost every day. I'm addicted. Haven't paid anything. 8. Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (DS) - The best game in Ranger series. I loved the game when I first discovered it. I haven't gone back to it though. 9. Pokémon Puzzle Challenge (GBC) - I love my puzzle games as you've probably noticed by now. 10. Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare) - Sure, it's a stupid game where you just mash buttons but it's a multiplayer game. I had a lot of fun playing Rumble with my family. I don't enjoy Colosseum and I don't have XD: Gale of Darkness or Pokkén Tournament.
Conquest was awesome. I remember when I heared that they were making such a game I didn't believe it because I though that Samurai Warriors and Pokemon? Yeah sure. But man it is good!
Explorers and XD:GoD are among my fave Pokemon games. No other PMD compares to Explorers (there's not many to pick from, but Gates and Super took me a week tops to beat. There's hardly any postgame...), and I always wanted a sequel to XD. Ardos tried to have you killed, long before Ghetsis was even conceived, and is explicit about his plans to resurrect Cipher in his note to you after you face him n Orre Colosseum. How has he not gotten his chance to shine as a main villain in a spin-off yet? (There's also so many cool opportunities for Shadow Pokemon, like Hydreigon, or even, Shadow Megas? I mean, there's that one dude from the movies who forcibly evolved a whole shit-load of Mons to Mega, so why not?)
The R/S version of Pokemon pinball got me through my senior year in college. I'm pretty sure I got my old GBAsp out of the box, it would still have that game's cart in it.
Conquest is surprisingly deep. I've beaten all of the side stories which is fun enough but I'm yet to come close to picking up all of the legendary Pokemon or Warlord "evolutions". That could take a lifetime.
Oh, my goodness, Pokémon Conquest. I still remember just happening across it at a GameStop and thinking "What in the world?" I had some money to spare, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'd love to see another game in that style. Pokémon's mechanics translate really well into a FE- or FFT-style strategy game, and it really bugs me that we don't see more games like it. I can see why the developers might hesitate to try another Pokémon strategy game, though, let alone the kind I think could really do well: it's kind of hard to have a real war in a story or game without touching upon the topic of death, which is something Pokémon Conquest only managed to avoid by having the battles really be more like regulated games.
Two thoughts about Stadium. First, I'd have rated it much lower. Second, the best part of those games was the minigames, and I have to wonder why Hudson never took a break from Mario Party to give Pokemon the same treatment.
Everyone says that the final special episode of PMD is the saddest part of the game. You know what's sadder? I can't beat it and will never know how good it is
I'd add in Pokepark 2 somewhere aswell. It's a really cute and fun game that at the same time manages to be varied, different and at times both heartwarming and depressing.
Japanese "Pokemon Stadium" is not the American version, the one we got is "Pokemon Stadium 2" in Japan, the Japanese "Stadium 1" doesn't even have all 151 Pokemon like our "Stadium 1" does. And there's a 3rd one in Japan which is our "Stadium 2" with Generation 2 Pokemon. Just wanted to clarify that.
Pokken Tournament, Super Mystery Dungeon, and Pokémon Snap are the best Pokémon side games ever! Good to see them getting some renown! Will have to check out XD and Explores of Sky
Top 5 pokemon side games that can trade with the main series games: Stadium 1: generation 1 "battle frontier" Stadium 2: generations 1 and 2 "battle frontier" Coloseum and its bonus disc: can trade with generation 3 and the bonus disc has jirachi XD: can trade with generation 3. Ranger: gives you some event only pokemon. I also like that pokemon conquest, but it is down on my priority list.
Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is, and always will be my favourite game of all time.
Shrek The Ogre I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with Shrek
Shrek The Ogre Mine too
Shrek The Ogre I played Red Rescue Team for years and it wasn't until last year that I started to play the second one. And I'm 20 now.
ayy
Shrek The Ogre Honestly, that game has the saddest but at the same time best ending of any Pokemon game. It makes me love it even more :)
So glad Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was in the top 3. It is in my top games of all times for simply making me care enough to cry.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky are the only Nintendo Games that have ever made me actually cry, on multiple occassions. God damn, do I love those games.
Yeah it is arguably the best spinoff.
Theinsanegamer10 Crying intensifies as love for Conquest is nonexistent.
catbus176 Not arguably, factually
Nils Peeters Crying intensifies even more.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky...one of the most fulfilling games I've ever played. It is truly a masterpiece.

And that f***ing Dialga fight music! God, that soundtrack!
I didn't know other people knew what Pokemon Conquest was
I didn't know that a second version was hinted at, now I know it was (despite being 3+ years ago) I'm actively waiting for an announcement.
I was surprised at TCG.
ITS THE BEST POKEMON GAME
Grayson Newman I agree
I know right
Intro music is the boss music from Learn with Pokémon: Typing Adventure. The whole soundtrack is way better than it should be, check it out sometime.
rabbidluigi hell yes i agree with number 1. its still my favorite pokemon game and it totaly needs a sequel. we need more. plus you never even mentioned how long and expansive the post game is lol
That moment you said "can't believe two things so different could work so well together" made me think of Kingdom Hearts.
rabbidluigi All very excellent choices. I was hoping pokepark would make the list. I think it's an underrated game. I also would love it if another Pokémon XD was made. That game shaped my childhood.
Yeah but when's Mother 3
Bee-Zee Soul yeah, y u no PokePark

Pokemon Easter Eggs.
/me runs
***** I HAVE NO REGRETS!
I agree with you wholeheartedly on the Mystery Dungeon games. First handheld games to make me cry...
And thanks to Mother 3, not the last.

truepixartronphan If this meant another SMT game, I'm happy with it. TMS might have a shit localization and a kinda bad story but the combat is fun as fuck
SMT style storytelling with Pokemon/Demon fusions? fuck yes
Didn't watch yet. Mystery Dungeon better be here.
It is but not as high as it should be ;_;
It's as high as it should be. What's not though is pokémon ranger.
That moment when I realized I was in a Rabbidluigi video 10:40
I have no words
still no terraria though...
Floris Lans Ikr! :(

Actually I prefer Mystery Dungeon's gameplay to Conquests.
They're both difficult and strategy, but I prefer Dungeon Crawlers gameplay.
I liked Conquest, but Once you finished your turns it always became a bizarre stalemate. Every time it was the enemy's turn he just took one of my kingdoms that had under leveled pokemon
Yellow Diamond the swag lord Well that's where the strategy comes in even when not in battle, doesn't it?
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot: the AI is pathetic and level designs clearly weren't thought through. You can effortlessly defend Avia with just the weakest flyer you have just by running away for ten turns. They'll never catch you and it never dawns on them to maybe send more than one Pokémon.

13:23 This edit brings me joy and I love you for making it.
oh TY for picking Explorers of the Sky. Best mystery Dungeon game ever!!
pichugirl6 *Best GAME ever
+Nils Peeters the other day and night and day, I
Alright, question time! What's your favorite pokemon spin-off game? Mine is pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of time. I just love the story rhere.
Linebeckable Same. With honorable mentions to Picross, PSMD and Ranger: Shadows of Almia.
PMD: Explorers of Darkness, Shadows of Almia, and Pokemon Conquest!
Linebeckable Only one I've played is Pokken Tournament, and I'm not the biggest fan of fighting games so I sold it rather quickly. Doesn't help that I suck balls at fighting games. Need to play more Pokémon spinoffs.
Stadium 2 needs more love and also a sequel.
Same! That game is soooooo good
mystery dungen not at the top spot.....fucking riot!!!
Fat Boy Conquest is better, tho.
Goomtrooper No, its not
It really isn't
I love me some Mystery Dungeon but wasn't as fun as Conquest. I'd have put PMD at #2
Conquest is amazing
No PokePark?
Davey Lieftink Ah man, Pokepark 2 was the SHIT!
these people know whats up
I feel like no one else truly appreciates the greatness that is Conquest, and I'm so happy to see you put it at number one! Great video, as always! :)
That fucking Pokémon Typing Adventure boss theme is glorious
Ah, my sister and I LOVED the Pokemon Stadium mini-games! Good times :D
Conquest at number 1 was perfect, and I really *REALLY* want it to get a sequel. It's really got potential to be the next big thing for the franchise.
JCBro2014 Wanna make it better? Add Miror B!
Awesome Videogamer Ooh, that would be cool.
BJGvideos NO ONE MATCHES MIROR B. TIS IMPOSSIBLE!
Finally someone agrees!
When I started hearing the XD gale of darkness song and Colloseum song, I was so happy and got thrown a nice bit of nostalgia! thank you for including them as so few people actually know of them when they were the games that introduced me to the pokemon franchise and I have wanted a new game in the series forever!!
For anyone interested, the intro music is from fucking Pokemon Typing Adventure
Dude I love Guardian signs! It was so much fun and made me fall in love with pichu, making it my favorite pokemon.
Not to mention the fact that Poken Tournament has very high quality models and textures for the pokémon.
Finally, realistic pokémon
Just saw number 8. If Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky isn't at least in the top 3 I will probably die.
SPOILERS:
Oh, thank Arceus. I would personally put it at number 1, but thank you for at least putting it in the top 3. :D
That was the first pkmn game to make me cry
And the only one.
Exactly! I cried for a while after beating the main story the first time and every time after. Even though I know what happens, it is just impossible for me not to cry at that part (and even a little bit at the part that involves Grovyle and Dusknoir right before it).

#1: YES. SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS THIS GAME EXISTS.
I need to finish it. Maybe now I have experience with Fire Emblem I can do better.
I've been meaning to get my hands on it for a while after seeing some Conquest stats on Bulbapedia and reading the game synopsis.
Jack Stevenson The game is amazing!!!!
Jack Stevenson I agree
BJGvideos The two Off-Brand Pokemon games that need revival are Conquest and Colosseum/XD.
And the main antagonist of both of them HAS to be Miror B
Pokemon Snap desperately needs a 3DS remake, it would make great use of the system's camera and gyro controls.
The Chaos Dragoness I mean, Pokémon Sun & Moon basically has a new Pokémon Snap built in to it.
YOU PREDICTED NEW POKÉMON SNAP
I'll never forget the first time I played Pokemon Conquest, my dad picked it up for me as a Christmas gift because of the Pokemon label but I can't even begin to describe how addicting it was. For me, this game was the best thing to come out of gen 5.
Thank you, thank you so much for putting conquest as no. 1, sir.
I really hope they remake or at least make a sequel for. Colosseum and gale of darkness
God I freaking LOVE Conquest. I want another one of those so badly. Played the hell out of it. Mystery Dungeon games are amazing too.
***** Yeah I am partway through SMD, I got stuck on the damn volcano though.
THANK YOU!
Yes! PMDEOS is there! New fav RUclipsr. literally my favorite game of all time.
Even just mentioning Explorers got me to cry
DAMMIT POKEMON YOU'RE SO GOOD AT TELLING STORY WHEN YOU WANT TO BE
You have no idea whow happy you made me with the placement of Conquest on this list. I poured so many hours into that game, the only game i played more of was HeartGold.
Seeing Explorers of sky and hearing the conquest music made me stupidly happy. Oh god it's beautiful.
I love the clip of Game Grumps between every game
I could tell from the start that and game that allowed you to have Salamance battle Chandalure would instantly become one of your favorites. ;)
Woah, Explorers of Sky/Gale of Darkness/Conquest as the top 3? That's a solid list right there. Props.
Pokemon Conquest was amazing it's a shame it became an opportunity gone to waste but there's still hope
What about Poképark Wii or Poképark 2?
I'm happy that Conquest and a Mystery Dungeon game were involved! I loved them both immensely. Including both Colosseum and XD Gales of Darkness kinda felt like a cop-out, but it's whatever. They're both great!
I totally forgot about Pokemon conquest. I remeber reading about it in Nintendo Power and thinking it sounded really weird lol
The only spinoffs I know are Shadows of Almia and Mystery Dungeon but I love both of those games so much and I'm happy to see them here
As soon as I heard the Pokemon Colosseum, I think it was Pyrite Town theme, I had shivers down my back. This was definitely a great game. Kinda wish you used Miror B's theme though.
I am VERY pleased to see Explorers of Sky on here. I've played that game more times than any of the main series games.
on the topic of number 3. Yess is is so awesome. The best part for me was the after game where you find out the characters actually had lives afterwards. they didn't have that in the games that followed.
Yo I'm fucking stoked that Conquest was #1. I had been hoping so before I even clicked on it. So many cats don't even seem to remember that game
TY SO MUCH FOR REALIZING HOW AWESOME CONQUEST WAS
Yes! Finally! Somebody who gave PMD: Explorers of Sky enough credit! I love that game so much! Maybe a bit more than others since it did helped me discover my love for story writing coz of it's deep and well done narrative.
I remember playing Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness A LOT when they came out and loving them both despite the flaws.
I find it funny that magikarp, of all pokemon, has the best theme song of all the individual species of pokemon that even have theme songs. Most of which are legendaries, I might add.
"I have no Pokemon Sun and Moon to play"
this is one time i feel like i relate to a poketuber
I guess the Primal Dialga battle theme from last week was to prime us for this week's countdown. Well played Rabbid.
Nearly at 250k, Rabbid. You deserve every one of them. Love your videos
I want to play Pokémon XD so badly, but I've never been able to find it...
Then unleash the power of Emulation! (If you have a good enough PC)
I'd rather actually play it legit so I can trade between it and my other Gen 3 games.
Well there's always ebay, if you're willing to pay 40$-80$ for a copy.
I'm very happy with the number one pick. While I do love Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, I happened to love Conquest as well. Of course, playing all of the main stories were a bit tedious in order to unlock a second campaign with your main warlord.
never got to play almia but guardian signs was one of my FAVOURITE games as a kid and its still quite good
My top ten (one game per series):
We need more pokémon conquest. Ransei isn't going to save itself anytime soon.
I was hoping Pokemon Conquest would be on this list somewhere and I was NOT disappointed
Funny thing about Colosseum and XD, they are technically in the main series. They exist in within the same world as the main series
So glad Sun and Moon implemented the pokefinder, its as close to a sequel to Pokemon snap that we will get
Love the game grumps in the transitions rabbid XD super saiyan voltorb pretty great.
Really hoping we get another Pokemon Conquest game - I'd actually buy that :d
Pokemon Conquest is actually good? I never heard much about it, but I may have to try it out now.
Pokémon Conquest at the number one spot? Heck yes! ^w^
Top 5 pokemon side games that can trade with the main series games:
Stadium 1: generation 1 "battle frontier"
Stadium 2: generations 1 and 2 "battle frontier"
Coloseum and its bonus disc: can trade with generation 3 and the bonus disc has jirachi
XD: can trade with generation 3.
Ranger: gives you some event only pokemon.
I also like that pokemon conquest, but it is down on my priority list.
