Congratulations, out of the hundreds of RUclips instructional videos I've watched over the years, this is the most informative of them all. Thank you for taking the time and doing it right.
Feels very nice to read a comment like this. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, it is greatly appreciated. Putting this video together took so much time...
Was confident enough after watching the video and replaced my dash. Would never have attemped to do this without this video. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
Well im very glad the video was useful to you! Thank you for your positive feedback!
Nice job on the technical side of it still looks like a lot but nice job
Where did you get replacement dash I can only find slip on covers
Can you please tell me where you purchased your new replacement dash?
Where did you buy the dashvoard?
Watching this, I'm now a little more intimately familiar with my 13 Silverado 1500. Excellent video! It does give me an appreciation for how much work goes into this.
Haha that first sentence got me laughing! But thank you, yes it is a pretty involved project.
OMG! Thank you guys! Not many people take the time to explain how the clips work. Anyone who hasn't worked on cars too much, don't know how a lot of them work. I've broken a few over the years. :)
Youre very welcome. And my father says the same thing about the clips which is why I take the time to explain everything as best I can. Im sure glad It helped! :)
Great video guys. I just needed to get to heater actuator under the airbag. But I do have a crack in my dash. This really look easy once you know how to do it. Thanks for the video, Great work.
Awesome video. You have convinced me that me cracked dash on my 2008 Sierra really doesn't need to be replaced that bad. I have a greater appreciation for the cost charged by mechanics now. I would have never imagined this would be such an involved process.
Haha yes it sure is a long process to replace and we do a lot of work that sometimes people don't understand how much time goes into it like you said..
Lol same here I rather just pay
I think I might just put carpeting on top of my dash, this is way too much work for me
My windshield also needs replacing...wonder if dash replacement would be easier without windshield in the way
I’m not capable of doing this myself but understand the complex procedure with your very informative explanation & video. Job well done.
I really appreciate the good comment thank you
Nice video. Get under the replacement dash before install and take some epoxy and scrap plastic and gusset/reinforce common areas that crack before install, watching for areas that may be tight tolerance and prevent a good fit. May help prevent cracking in the future.
Absolutely one of the best DIY auto repair videos I've ever watched. You covered all the bases and gave solid helpful advice and explanations.
Really appreciate your comment🙏sure was a lot of work doing this video. hope we just earned ourselves another subscriber lol .
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations You have!
Earned another subscriber here aswell and maybe a customer you guys in Arizona?
I agree - dudes nice..
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations ok thanks
Thanks for the informative video.
Was able to replace my dash in my driveway. Saved tons of money by not taking it to the mechanic.
Keep up the great vids guys.
Very glad my video helped you! And congrats on your new dash!
Great job guys. I would had hired both of you when I had my mechanic shop some years ago. Y'all work great as a team. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much Fred. We appreciate that a lot. 🙏
After watching this it convinced me that I could do this.... I am happy to say that I found a good dash on EBay. Then I dyed it the right color with SEM product. It came out perfect. Thank Guys
Nice! Glad you tackled it on your own and were able to do so successfully!
Yeah I bought one of the replacement cover dashes, didn't like the way it looked and now its in my attic. Watched this video and that crack doesn't bother me as much anymore. Nice job guys.
Hahah yea after seeing this video most people rather not lol. But thank you very much for tuning in and appreciate the kind feedback. Thank you.
Thanks for your video it completely help me out I thought I was going to need a second person but I just remove the plastic steering column around the steering wheel and the dash slipped right in place thanks again
That is awesome! Glad the video helped you
This video was extremely helpful. The only addition I would add is to remove the metal U-shaped brace below the steering wheel. 4 nuts, easy to remove. It allows the steering column to drop even lower and makes getting the dash out and back in WAY easier than they show here.
Yea just didn't want to fully remove another item lol. But thank you very much for your positive comment Chad.
WOW ! You Guys Did One Heck Of A Job ! AWESOME Video. You guys explained where every single screw came out and went back in. GREAT VIDEO !!
Thank you very much! Sure hope we earned a subscriber lol. Trying our best to do the best we can to explain on some of these videos. Thank you for the awesome comment!
You fellas did an excellent teamwork project and very good explanation on the does and don’ts and on the tools used. Very good DIY RUclips! There are a lot of RUclips videos out there that could learn how to edit their videos, by watching Your RUclips channel!! Great Job!!!!

So glad i found this video. Removed my dash, but it got dark on me. I'll do my installation tomorrow. Excellent video. Thank you so much!!

This is probably the best DIY video on RUclips. Although you got this out of a crashed truck, maybe you could add a link to where we could find one. THAT would be going the extra mile. You guys make great videos.
best place to find used parts for my rebuilding is typically car-part.com and ebay.
car-part is essentially a search engine listing for multiple salvage yards. Very easy to search.
We got ours from GM. But I have seen them for sale online.
OMG, that is how tutorial videos are done. 👏👏 Excellent details, very informative and clear instructions. The only thing missing would be a link for the replacement parts. The internet is full of crappy dash covers.
Thank you very much, its comments like these that make our day. And the replacement dash actually came out of a used parts truck. Dash was intact. Please help us by clicking subscribe.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations - good find. those dashes are $500 new. :-(
@@nosonfontenot3072 unfortunately yes!!
Only available thru GM at local dealer. No aftermarket on this on boys. Dealer charged 600 for a new one 😬
Thank you guys for share this video I’m about to do the same on my Chevy Silverado if it wasn’t for this video I would be in a hard situation but now I know how to do it step by step thanks keep sharing videos about cars
Really appreciate the positive comment. You all views is what keeps my channel alive. And I sure will keep uploading more
Hands down the best video of how to on RUclips
I came here hoping that this would be an easy DIY process. I'm at 12:16 and I've already given up on the idea of doing it myself. I have great appreciation for whoever is going to go through this to replace my dash. lol
Lol yea its quite the process!
I gave up after 8:26
@@fredmertz8538 lol yea its a pretty long process
Probably the most thought out & thorough video I've seen. Great camera work & explanation. Great job guys!!
Thank you very much!
I know this is an older video, but this is the best step by step vid I have ever seen on RUclips. Thank you.
This video continues to be one of my proudest videos that we worked hard on making due to the time it took to edit it. I am very grateful to you for your kind words, thank you!

This is so insanely easy! We took apart my buddies bmw interior and it was a pain in the ass!
This is why I love GM the simplicity of working on them is about the best and you can't beat and LS motor.
Great video guys!!! This helped me replace my cracked dash and my driver side actuator for ac, figured I would knockout 2 birds with 1 stone
Always nice to hear that we successfully helped people on their projects. Appreciate the comment. Thank you.
Great job you two, that’s a lot of work...
Thank you...
This video helped me a lot..
I just replaced mine on my 2007 nbs.
Especially the tip about how to drop the steering column for more clearance.

I know it's been a while but do you have a link to were you bought your dashboard. I'm lookig around but I can find any or its a scam.
@@gerardorocha9145
I looked all over the place and like you I felt like some of the ones i found were scams. Only one preview photo and vague item description.
I ended up getting mine from the dealer.
Ill look for the part numbers and follow up.
JAY EFF thanks. I really appreciate it. Ya I ran into sketchy websites as well with prices to good to be true or just 1 preview photo.
@@gerardorocha9145
I found my receipt from the dealer.
For the main dash (panel) part # gm 19331340 $396
For the etension panel at edge by windshield part# gm 23224733 $ 244
These are part numbers for ebony interior.
Gray or tan might be different.
Bought them at GM dealer in California, price might be different elsewhere.
This is a very good informative video, keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the detailed info, need to get mine replaced before too long
We got this dash used from another truck

Have done so many under warranty I had it down to under an hour. 1 tip, remove the shifter handle. makes the job a whole lot easier.
What would constitute it being done under warranty
Thank you so much for this video. This is the very best video for this replacing the cracked dasboard.
I really appreciate that. Yea took a lot of time to edit this video and to make it happen. Thank you for your comment.
Where did you purchase the dashboard replacement?
Great video! Detailed and spot on. Awesome job guys

Thank you very much, I have a 07 and my dash is cracked bad and had thought of changing it. I have been a little scared I might create more damage than needed, thank you for the visual. I am thinking I can do this, now I need to see what cost it might be, it may be a while before I do it, but you have helped me for sure, thank you.
Yea I quite the chore but very doable by anyone.
Very well explained, thanks for the amazing video
OMG!!! and good Lord that's a lot of work. I'll bet that is an expensive job to have done at a shop just for labor..........I'll have to live with my cracked dash.........Thanks for sharing..........learned a lot.
Actually I typically bill around $300 labor for this job. And dash was taken off another truck so he bought it for $100
You can also buy a "dash cap". It's made from much better material (ABS PVC) and just adheres to the old one. Looks pretty clean.
Looks like a lot of work but it's a lot more if you need to take the HVAC box to replace the heater core :-(. Thank you for posting this video as it helped me with the two extra plugs I didn't know where they went (one was a dummy plug next to the air vent on the DL side and the other was the plug to the ambient light).
Great job guys and super explaining the removal step by step. 👍
Thank you very much🙏
Man, I was hoping it was just the plastic skin on the top that had to be replaced. I will just deal with the small crack in my dash. What a major pain. I will definitely save this video for when I inevitably decide to do it.
Thanks to this video and you explaining step by step, I was able to do this. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome 🙏
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I just replaced mine following this video! 👍
Thats awesome! Thank you very much! Where did you get the replacement from?
This very helpful and detailed thank you.👍

Did this entire process but it didn't fix my collapsed AFM lifters. Thanks GM!!!
Did you comment on the right video???
Lmao crazy how common it is and no recall.
Oh my God I would pay you to do this to my truck in a heartbeat, I was with you up until the airbag. Seen too many f-ups to be comfortable messing around with that.
This comment got me laughing lol but yea its a time consuming job.
Great video!!! Really helped tons and thank you for explaining everything so well

OMG, that's how tutorial videos are done. 👏👏👏. Excellent details. Only thing missing would be a link to buy the actual replacement parts. The web is just full of crappy dash covers.
Agree with the guy above great video but what is the part#?
@@fernandohernandez4406 I too asked and they told me it came from a salvage yard.
Is the replacement a delco part? Mine is cracked, but all I see are the ones that cover it up.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing.
Very informative. Thanks guys
Very detailed and yall did a fantastic job!!!
Thank you very much! Appreciate the good positive feedback. Hope it helped...
You guys are good, you make it look easy.... Thank you 😊
Haha thank you man!
Good job! I literally saw my dash crack today while I was driving. It's not as bad as the one you were working on but mine cracked over on the left side of the passenger side airbag. What was the cost on the replacement dash and where did you source the part? Also, about how much time, "in real time" did you spend replacing the dash? Once again, good job and really good video! I greatly appreciate you guys taking the time to do it!
Real time takes about 2 or 3 hours depending on experience and tools used. The dash was sold to a customer from another customer but you can find them on ebay for around 200. And yes it sure was a lot of editing for this video. Please subscribe, it will help my channel grow.
Can you help me find it on eBay? Dark titanium?
I have to do this to mine cuz it’s all broken also. If your that far into the dash already would it be a good idea to change the heater core???
Excellent video!
Now that was a detailed video bad ass guys great clip people need to do more detail clips like this once again bad ass ✌👌👍👍💪✌👌
Well I really appreciate your comment. Believe it or not, I get complaints that its too long but it kinda needs to be to actually show the complete step by step process.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Nah brotha the people who say it's to long are people who know how to day it but the every day person who dont have a clue greatly appreciate videos like this I have a 2012 with a perfect dash but i still click on clips like this just to learn never know I watch lifted truck videos all day but its frustrating when they never give full 100% detail like you guys did I watched every minute of this vid to me perfect content

Badass video man! Nice work
Thank you very much!
14:40 there’s 2 harnesses ones a small gray color and the other one is a bigger black color. Anyone know What the small gray one is? I took apart my dash and noticed nothing was connected to it ?
Nicely done. Very precise and thorough. I need a replacement for my 08 Sierra 1500. Where can I get a great quality dashboard?
Really appreciate the comment. Unfortunately to source a new dash is an answer I don't have...I got this one from a wrecked truck that was in perfect condition.
I went in for an airbag recall and discovered my '14 dash was cracking. The dealer even said it was a "poor design." I contacted GM directly to complain and they contacted the dealer and said they would replace for a little over $300. Not bad considering it's normally over $1100 and my truck is 7 1/2 years old.
Niiiice!!!
Great Video!!
Where did you get the dashboard from I'm trying to get one but I can't find it
Great video
Amazing video!!! Thanks plenty.
Thank you very much.
Where did you buy a replacement dash all I can find are covers
Great video, thanks!
Thank you very much! Hope it helped
If it does have a cab air filter can you do a video how to replace one
Thank you
pretty sure these don't. GM used some other way for filtration. Don't quote me on that, the newer ones might have a filter
Fantastic video and I will definitely be following it closely, but I have one small problem, I cannot find the replacement dash! All I can find are annoying aftermarket covers. Do you by chance have the part number for the OE replacement? I did not see it skimming the video.
No im very sorry but this dash was a dash that came off of another truck....im not even sure if they are reproducing the dash boards yet...
You guys do not dusted off before installing the new dash? But other that it’s a great video ! I’ll do the same on my truck
Thank you guys, I’m going to do my 12’ GMC Sierra. How much did you pay for the replacement dash, who’d you buy from? Ty. Ed
Im very sorry, I missed your comment but I hope you got your answers from the comments. The dash i got was from another truck that was in good shape. Not sure if they sell them aftermarket.
But thank you very much for your positive feedback
Great video!!
Thank you kindly
Excellent video.Where are you located? Close to Houston I hope.Thank you,Larry.
Hello, actually located near Mcallen Tx.
Hey where did you get the full dash assembly replacement? Do you have a part number?
If you figure it out bro please leave a link on here I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find it
I ordered mine from the dealership last it’s about 550
Was the replacement made out of the of the same material? I would hate to purchase one and then 2 years later it goes to crap
How did that truck it factory navigation
Nice video on step by step do y’all have the link where did y’all get the dashboard from?
Thank you for the positive feedback and unfortunately i dont have a link. This dash was obtained from a parts truck
Thank you. I’m on my way to replacing my own dash. Any idea where to buy a good dash?
Unfortunately I dont, this one i got it off a wrecked truck that had this dash in very good shape...
Excellent video all detailed but seen there's a lot a work

If i need to replace my dash where could i find it? I have looked o amazon and ebay but just find covers that go over dash, i have o whole on mine and need to replace it
Someone on the comments had posted a link for one at one point. I just forgot to copy it and is now lost somewhere within the comments...the one we got was off of another truck
Can someone please tell me what plug is being removed at 17:40? Thank!
What year is the truck in this video?
