      @@123brosef The AVH-Z5250BT is not a US spec radio, and we were shipped the wrong radio from the seller. The US spec version is the AVH-2500NEX. Almost identical in build, but the Z version doesn't play media from the US region.

      Hi .. I've got a question.. Does that Pioneer play CDs? I've got two CDs stuck in my player .. can't seem to get them out .. and of course it keeps cycling and drains the battery.. I do want a CD player as well , but evidently the gmc factory stereo seems from what I understand, CDs get stuck .. and it's a spendy trip to the dealer that may , or may not be able to make things right .. So I figure get a new stereo that does not have this problem.. thanks Chris

    Pioneer does not require parking brake bypass as it is built in and accessible through a secret menu which you can disable no part’s required.

    • @Abyss0206
      @Abyss0206 Год назад +1

      Care to explain said secret menu?

    • @ssmith2980
      @ssmith2980 Год назад +5

      @@Abyss0206 Hit the home menu button > select AV > tap the OFF button. Now, about a 1/2-inch up from the bottom and 1/2-inch in from the bottom left you're going to press and hold for 10-15 seconds. You'll see it say "SET ON" which enables the bypass and you'll be all set. Now you can play videos on DVD, USB, SD, input navigation directions and more all while driving. No park brake, no wire splicing or anything. It's that simple.

    Just a heads up, most newer units have CarPlay integrated wirelessly so may not even need a USB flush adapter mount unless your head unit requires you to connect to your phone via USB connection.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  11 месяцев назад +3

      Well unbranded cheap Chinese units have wireless CarPlay, but it’s not certified. Big brand name units offer wireless CarPlay, but they are still 400-500 for a quality one.

    • @crimsontide1980
      @crimsontide1980 11 месяцев назад +1

      @ProvoBeastAudio Very true, they aren't very affordable to some of us. I ended up going with an Alpine ILX-W650 and paired it with the KTA-450 power pack. Couldn't be more happy with it. I know there's head units with way more bells and whistles, sharper display etc., but ran across a great deal on both together, brand new for right at 400+ tax, couldn't pass on it. For the price it works great, pushes my Alpine S2 6.5 coaxials just fine. Honestly I don't care about much of the extras, just wanted something I could stream music via Bluetooth with, eventually add a back up camera, and more importantly, have enough power to push some speakers without having to splurge for an expensive 4 channel amplifier.

    I have a scoche harness. The kenwood harness has a orange wire with a white stripe and blue wire with a white stripe that the scoche harness does not have. Any idea what these wires are for? I just wired mine uo but havent installed it in my rruck yet. The scoche does have a plain orange and blue wire without the stripe that matches the same with the Kenwood harness. Just wondering what thise other 2 wires are for on the Kenwood harness. Unfortunately the Kenwood radio didn't come with a harness as I bought it on clearance at Best buy as an open box. I had to order a harness that fit it online so it doesn't have any information on what wire is what.

    Why does the parking brake wire into the radio?

    • @crimsontide1980
      @crimsontide1980 11 месяцев назад

      It's some B.S. safety feature radio manufacturers are required by law to have. Basically they don't want you watching video while driving. I know, defeats the purpose of having a head unit that plays videos if you get one for kids or passengers, it's stupid, who's gonna put their car or truck in park to watch video?

      Ground the green wire to the radio chassis itself and then your kids can watch videos as you drive.

      You can connect the parking brake wire to the ground wire you don’t really need it

      Depends on the radio, if Pioneer or Alpine, it has to be connected in some way, and simply grounding it doesn't work as they require a double or triple pulse negative to properly work (which is why we used a byapss). Any other brand the parking brake wire can simply be grounded.

      There is an issue with your install. Depending on what brand harness adapter you used, i'd contact that harness manufacture tech support for assistance.
