      Also, wearing long and/or dark skirts is somehow better for me than short skirts. Wear a collared shirt and a sweater vest on top (surprisingly great for flattening, at least for me) for a devastatingly epic dark academia look :)

    Tipssss:
    1) wear white under shirts with unbuttoned button up tee shirts. It helps so much with chest dysphoria.
    2) swim trunks, swim shirt, and trans tape is the ultimate guide to summer.
    3) talk slow, it’s helps a lot with a pre t voice
    4) Tuck cuff of pant legs in your socks just a little bit to make pants a bit looser on your legs and reduce leg dysphoria.
    5) laugh quieter, and talk louder but don’t yell at the top of your lounges, it will make your voice higher.

    some more tips on passing (as someone who isn't out to anyone, with the exception two people):
    these all worked for me, so I hope they do for you all
    - if you have any tank tops from when you were a child, wear those, along with a non-padded sports bra. don't layer with more than two clothes, and not more than 8 hours. it makes a bit of a difference, if you don't have too big of a chest.
    - for me, I've found she/her pronouns give me more dysphoria than they/them. they/them pronouns are also more inconspicuous, so you might be able to get away with it around parents, teachers or anyone you aren't comfortable to come out to
    - when you're shopping, go for a fit that's one size bigger. if your parents ask, you can just say you like the fit better.
    - this might have already been mentioned, but ask if you can get a pixie cut. calling it a 'pixie' makes it sound more feminine and might make it seem more favourable to your parents. you can usually style it more masculinely later, worked wonders for me
    remember, that regardless of whether or not you can do these/want to do these/have done these, you are perfect the way you are, and you're just as valid as any other Mal human being

    • @JadeLikeJay
      @JadeLikeJay 2 года назад +4

      100% vouch the 'pixie cut' part.
      I once pointed at a picture of Whitney Houston at a hair salon and said "I want this. A pixie cut." Nobody questioned it.
      Then I styled it with hairgel when I got home lol.

    @ChaseFrances Год назад +11

    Have some random tips:
    Those chest bags or fanny packs worn with the bag part over your chest can be great for chest dysphoria! Also black caster oil rubbed into your cheeks/jaw/upper lip daily can work for growing a little facial hair - it only works over time slowly and might not be as good as medication/T, but it’s the only reason I have some facial hair on my actual cheeks rather than just on the edges of my jawline and I’ve been on T for a couple of years now lol
    Also, if anyone’s worried about going bald on T, the genes for that you get from your mother’s side of the family, so keep that in mind.
    Also also, T doesn’t automatically give you muscles, you still gotta work out 😭
    People will still wanna date you/be attracted to you, no matter who you are. Whether you’re feminine or masc or whatever, however you identify. You just have to find the right crowd, and you’ll fit in. Really.
    Button up shirts that have thicker material and are plaid/have some sort of dark pattern are good for hiding curves/breasts. Plus, your chest probably isn’t as noticeable as you think - it’s rare that cis guys are fully flat, and most cis people don’t notice. Same with packing - most people won’t notice if you’re just wearing regular clothes, if you’re not packing.
    Having thick/dark eyebrows can really help make you look more masc, and you can train your jawline to be a bit more defined with jaw exercises/clenching your teeth or something regularly, which can also help
    If you bind with tape (sports tape, KT tape or trans tape), then buy baby oil and cotton wool pads or something. Cover your nipples with the cotton, and when it comes time to remove the tape (because it can last a few days if applied correctly), use a LOT of oil and go very slowly. Use more oil than you think you need. Otherwise it can be really harmful, so be careful. You want to pull your breasts under your armpits with the tape, essentially.
    Also, I dye my facial hair lol. But I also dye my regular hair the same colour so it looks fine, and I apply the dye to my beard with one of those mascara brush things, so I comb the dye through my facial hair - if you just rub it all over the place, then you’re going to end up with a stained face. I use regular permanent hair dye (I’ve used Just For Men once before and that was fine but stained my face for longer than regular dye). It does stain the skin slightly but it comes off with washing and cleanser after a couple of days, so usually if I’m dying my facial hair I’ll do it a couple of days before I have to go out.
    Also, you can totally look up voice training on RUclips to get a deeper voice. It can take a while to get results but if you keep at it you’ll definitely get better

    I'm closeted nonbinary and most of my dysphoria comes from my chest. Heres some advice:
    You dont need to shave your legs. If you don't want to, then don't. If people ask you why, tell them you just don't care to shave
    Random t shirts are amazing. My favorite one is an old hand-me-down. Look for ones with more masculine or androgynous designs. Also, get men's t shirts rather than women's. Women's t-shirts highlight curves and shoulders.
    Some of my favorite outfits consist of baggy black jeans, platforms, and a hoodie with a big logo. It covers my chests really well. I got it from a school event
    It's okay to dress femenine. If you like the outfit but think it's fememnine, wear it anyway.
    Overall, you can slowly change your wardrobe to more androgynous clothing and excuse it with "a change in style" "I'm a tomboy" or "I like more comfortable clothes"
    Hope this helps! Remember, you WILL reach the point where you can come out!!! You WILL have a place. You WILL find people who accept you for WHO YOU ARE!! I accept you, love you, respect you, and am proud of you!!! Now go out there and do something to make YOU happy! 💙💖🤍💖💙 💛🤍💜🖤 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

    • @DrummerrDuckie
      @DrummerrDuckie Год назад

      Sadly we will sometimes outgrow people. Our paths reach a fork in the road, which, for you, would be whether or not to tell your extremely queerphobic friend that you're trans. Or, a third option could be to just never tell them but still cut them out. You don't owe others an explanation, especially in a situation where you know the likelihood of rejection and the spreading of information will be high. You are not obligated to share that you're trans to anyone, and no one is entitled to that knowledge. Do whatever you feel is best for yourself, keep yourself safe first and foremost as best as you can.
      Your toxic friend will have their own fork in the road to choose, too. They'll gave to choose if they want to shun, reject, and lose you, or if they instead want to grow and learn in order to keep up with you. We sadly can't fully predict or get the choice from them we wish they would take, to learn to be an even better friend to you and help you feel safer, but you can only decide what to do with the present knowledge of the situation.
      Just one more thing. Since I am a recovering people pleaser and still struggle with self-sacrificing, carefully think over how much this friend if yours means to you. Do you look forward to seeing them? Do you feel safe around them? Does hanging out with them or thinking of seeing them make you feel stressed, anxious, or exhausted? Do you feel energized and excited after talking to them? It's also okay and completely possible for positives and negatives to exist at the same time. Emotions are difficult to work through, especially when we aren't taught how to sort through them and self-regulate in healthy ways. I don't know any of the answers to those question prompts, and I can't tell you how to handle your own individual situation, but just heed a reminder and warning to not suppress the real you as to not hurt someone else's feelings, and don't let others only take and take and take all of your time and energy. Try to spend your time and energy in ways that makes you happiest. It doesn't even have to be with other people. Play video games, draw, hang out with your pet, spend time with yourself and love who you are and where your interests and dislikes start and end, and before you know it, you're going to find real, true friends who will love and accept you for who you are in the present and who you will become in the future. I know it's going to feel like it takes forever before you find new friends who aren't homophobic, transphobic, or generally queerphobic, but trust that you _do_ deserve a lovely social community and that you _will_ have one. You're already on the path, and you just have to keep moving until it comes into view.
      I know I rambled a lot at you, but I really hope that anything I said helped you even a little bit. I'm rooting for you, my fellow internet stranger, and I wish you much luck and happiness on your unique journey /)^v^(\

    Any tips for school uniform? Let me explain more:
    My family is a little transphobic (mainly my mum) and she probably won’t let me get any masc uniform and plus my school shirt is tight on me (not able to get another atm) and it’s mainly to hot to wear my jumper so any tips? (Btw last year of secondary not primary xd) and plus we aren’t allowed to wear hoodies and my pe kit is like that to (without a jumper or hoodie) and plus there’s only one set of bathrooms that are for any genders but they are quite far from my pe lesson and I’m not allowed to go to them (ik its bs) and I don’t feel comfortable in the female changing rooms but the teachers are gonna try to get me to get my pe kit and start changing.
    So ye any tips?

    • @SonicX-pd9kc

      You could try wearing the pe uniform underneath your normal uniform unless you get too hot. You said the normal uniform is tight, but maybe you'll be able to wear your pe uniform still? There's places that give away uniforms for free, i think. If there's a nurse's office bathroom, then maybe you can use that.

    I wanted to know if theres a way to still look masculine with shoulder length hair and curtain bangs (I'm a lover of the 70's look what can I say) Like- should I just wear masculine clothing and hope for the best? Also i'm not really trans more like genderfluid so- yeah idk if that adds anything.

    • @zanekrissoff2245
      @zanekrissoff2245 2 года назад +3

      My look is kind of similar, shoulder length hair at least (no bangs). One thing that helps is having my hair half-up half down, just a little ponytail in the back. You can still have the bangs loose in the front, but somehow the ponytail helps (at least for me). It might help to brush or fill in your brows a little to make them seem bushier. Make them look a bit scruffy, Han Solo style! If you're okay with makeup, try contouring for a more shadowed/dramatic jawline. One good contour trick is starting with a straight, diagonal line from just below your cheekbone to a point on the bottom of your face (hard to describe where, and all faces are different, but draw an imaginary line straight down your face from the center of your eye. The contour should end when it intersects that line at the bottom of your chin.) This creates that stereotypically masculine cheekbone shadow rather than a feminine "hollow", which is similar, but is a curved line AROUND the cheekbone. As for clothes, you probably know your preferences already, but stuff that emphasizes your shoulders can be great. I have a men's denim trucker jacket that's naturally a box shape, got properly gendered wearing that even with long hair :) Masculine clothing IS probably your best way to go, but there's more than one kind that'll help with dysphoria and/or passing, so don't give up if one thing doesn't work! Also, it's okay to ID as genderfluid and not really identifying with "trans", labels are your own to take or leave, forever and always. Final note, 70's bangs are awesome and no one will ever convince me otherwise :)

    fold it a little bit of the bottom of it over your breasts
    put another one on top of it so the one under doesn’t unfold easily
    ( optional: you can also fold the one on top just like the one under if that helps more )

      my dad's 5'4 lol so 5'2 isn't that bad,
      as long as you're able to do everything else, height isn't as big of a factor. but if ur still feeling dysphoric you can wear platform shoes
