And remember that gender expression and gender are DIFFERENT. I was uncomfortable at first wearing funky earrings because I was afraid not to "pass", but seeing Frederic Chen's channel and his amazing looks made me more confident to express myself however I want. Remember, you do not HAVE TO pass to be considered transgender. If you feel like something feels uncomfortable for you, don't do it.
yesssss someone mentions body language!!! great video dude! only thing is im pretty sure youre not supposed to wear the tape as long because it has less room for movement and breathing. in cosplay we call it open chest binding, and we only do it when the character had an open shirt because binders are safer and can be worn longer
Tip for dudes with a femme voice, hum with your head going up and down until your vocal chords don't feel tight, then open your mouth. Feel how your throat kind of opens too? Close your mouth, but keep your throat open. Relax your shoulders, and talk. That should make your voice sound deeper.
Thanks for this video ! I'm a trans guy, and I'm pre T, I need to get my hair cut differently, because mine is feminine even though I go to the barber.
I recommend Spectrum Outfitters for Binders as well. They are UK based. Although at face value the look more expensive with the shipping you’d pay for GC2B it works out at around the same price. They also only have the compressing material on the front meaning less strain on your back.
Thank you so so much I’m a trans boy here and it’s been hard for me most people around me don’t support trans people. Only a few will call me by Onyx which is my preferred name, I will definitely try all these tips like packing and making my own binder! Thanks a lot, your one and only, Onyx
This guide is very helpful! It looks like I'm already on the right track with a lot of these. I cant help but feel a little bitter at how we have to do all of this analysing and tweaking just to be perceived as who we are while others don't even have to think about it, but I try to remember that things worth having don't come easy.
Jasper Rose 1 year ago Fair warning for the minoxidil, please be very careful if you have pets. This is very poisonous to cats and even kill them, please if you have animals think about this. Along with that please try this on your wrists before putting it on your face, you could be allergic. My personal use, is it helped a bit, but I was unbearably itchy after five days and had to rinse it out and throw it out so no animals can get a hold of it.
Good news, this video helped me build up the courage to tell my dad that I want to wear a binder and stuff so as to pass as more masculine! Bad news, he was talking down to me the entire time and didn't listen to what I was trying to say.
hey man, at least you tried! imho a "no" is better than a "what if". at least then you have the closure to move forward. it SUCKS, but it'll pass. (and so will you 😉)
@@ConnorShankles-zd3fu weird mix of both, also cus this was so long ago I don't actually remember it, but i have binders now! I don't think he was trying to talk down to me looking back but yea
U can use binding tape when ur bigger than a c cup u just need to do it a little differently (cross the strips slightly in the bag and put one vertically over the horizontal ones to secure them because u will need at least 4 strips per side which is a lot more than a small chest needs but except for that the picture used to show how to tape shows what to do pretty accurately but u can wear tape for a lot longer because it doesn’t compress ur rips and if done correctly won’t stretch ur skin too much so you can just wear it for 1-2 days (please don’t prolong showeringbecause of it because u need to wash it throughly afterwards to get of the glue so just plan ahead)
look at what the boys around you are wearing and copy them what the boys around me wear: adidas pants, supreme shirts, and soccer socks with white sneakers what if i want style tho.
I feel you. I dress femininely, but not the way that girls at my school do. I like to be ~fancy~ The thrift store is your best friend. Almost every article of clothing I own is second hand. If you are on the larger side, it will be harder to find great clothes, though. There are simply more clothes in smaller sizes. Maybe you can wear suits. Like, generic teacher suits.
I’m a woman I don’t want to be a man but I want to be a masc woman for my future girlfriend this helped a lot thank you Edit:I commented this 9 months ago and I’m trans now lol
These guys from my old school used to say "are you a guy" as a joke, mainly cuz I have a kind of deep voice. I guess they knew I was trans before I did
I do the slow talking all the time, it helps with my voice a lot, sure it makes me quieter but it makes me more comfortable, I also found working out can decrease chest size, and there are certain workouts to help get a smaller chest, doing basically any arm workout can help
one note, you did recommend trans tape, but id like to say that you should NOT use trans tape if you have sensitive skin!!! i tried it once having eczema and it definitely scarred 😕
On my first day of going out for shopping groceries after coming out and being confident with it I still was insecure about my walk. Because I have really obvious feminine hips and legs and I have to wear heels due to knee problems I automatically was swinging my hips a lot. A lot. So I spend an hour walking with my hands down my pockets because that would restrict me from swinging my hips freely if I forgot about it and I had such muscle strain at the end of the day just from walking like a normal person. 10/10 would do again.
I know you posted this so long ago but I hope you’re doing good! I’ve never heard about wearing heels to help with knee pain. Do you still have to wear them? Also, have you tried those kinds of mens shoes with hidden height added to the heel? I don’t know if those would be high enough to help, but I thought I would mention it, in case you haven’t heard of those before ❤
I dunno if I can ever do the surgery part as I have an intense phobia of hospitals and specifically medical staff and surgery. It makes my transition a LOT more difficult
Great video for Trans men :) , Im a Pre T trans man & I been sitting like a man since i was a kid & and fighting with myself 3 years ago trying to see what was wrong with me.... Started wearing clothes from the mens section & was comfortable for once in my life. So picking mens clothes come natural to a trans they just pick what they like on them. Already people think im a boy for thats great for me :D , and body shape not much of a choice people have depends on your bone structure too & Body fat. Im im hoping for Inverted triangle.
Also another tip if you dont have money and are mostly flat chested I highly suggest sports bras! They've always worked for me and their a much more affordable option
Recently I saw a Reddit thread that asked how trans men feel about being treated as a threat the way cis men are. My answer was "We generally understand why, because we've experienced what is making women react that way, and don't take it personally. I advise this mindset, as much as you can achieve it, for all men."
one tip for walking to help your hips sway less is imagine a line on the ground from where you are to where you're going and walk with one foot on either side of the line, instead of walking on the line. walking with your feet directly in front of each other reads more feminine, so avoiding that can be good ❤
remember passing is not a necessity, people who don't pass are just as trans as people who do and looks are not the determining factor of your gender identity and passing is not the goal of everyones trans journey.
WARNING FOR MINOXIDIL: it is VERY fatal to cats. If you have cats I wouldn’t recommend using it, because if it even touches them they will lick that area, ingesting the minoxidil and it will kill them unless you have a very good eye on your cat/cats so you can get them to the vet asap.

I have been struggling with my gender for years now, and as an afab this feels like a really safe place for me, so firstly I'd just like to thank you for making these videos. secondly I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me a little more about trusting myself? because I've very recently decided to go with genderflux as my "label" because I go though so many phases with gender. though the times I feel most feminine, I tend to convince myself I've been faking everything else. idk if I'm the only one but I just needed a place to get this out and here seemed like the safest.
as an afab? u mean arab? if u did mean arab im a trans arab too! ive only realized like 2 weeks ago so i have no idea what i am tho im kind of scared to know what i am anyways, i watch all these videos yet i dont do anything 😭

"To give you sort of a Dorito shape" 😂 I'm not hatin btw im trans that part just made me laugh😂 but yeah passing is hard af especially since i don't want to go on T or anything if anything i get seen as a 12 year old boy😭
Wow, that was really well put together. I agree with everything you mentioned. You were respectful while you were at it. I have seen a few transmen complained about not being able to pass...while they're wearing a dress/skirt with makeup on. The reality is...if you want to pass as male but leaning towards feminine looking.....you're going to be mistaken as a female. Those who tend to pass really well as men tend to do all or most of everything you had mentioned in this video.
Thanks! I’m still tryna convince my mom to get me a haircut (I haven’t come out to her and prob never will), I’ve already been confused as male quite a few time despite not being out yet (prob cuz I dress pretty masculine and hide my hair w a lot of beanies lmao) sooo I can’t wait to see how much more I’d pass when I do cut my hair
I kinda am a pioneer in this cos when I tried to pass or just started wearing men's clothing (cos thats what suits me and I dont want female accents anymore at all cos I never liked them in the first place) I had to try over again to see what looked and felt good and I noticed, when you have hairy legs and wear shorts, likely people gonna be unable to call you a 'she' or they gonna be very rude and call you out for having hairy legs which is redicilous for both genders anyway (groom it, clean it, make sure it doesnt get out of control and what makes you feel confident and sexy), but yeah, I always had nike or addidad anyway and hoodies of which one really makes me look more masculine with shoulders and I seemed to have gravitated towards 'good' clothes since most of which I kept seems to fit these passing tips. It's cos I just tried and tried and took notes of what my environment did or my reflection and confidence. Even before I came out as trans, I was called a boy sometimes cos of wearing sweatpants and boy ish T shirts (having short hair) and honestly, looking back on, go me! :D I was almost kicked out of the women's restroom tho so I had to... expose myself.
I'm able to pass now after following tips from this vid after seeing it a few months ago and tysm dude. really highly appreciate it. any tips for a haircut for someone w a round face shape who doesn't like to style my hair/has no time to? I'm kinda lazy lol
once I get a haircut I will probably pass because I’m 13 and I already kinda look like a boy with long hair so SIDKWODJSKA however it’s hard to find a hair style I want because I’m asian and I have thin straight hair, there’s no volume whatsoever. And most pictures have the hair styled in them, I can’t find any with just normal hair. no hairspray, no rearrangement, just clean and brushed.

Thank you bro. You’re a lifesaver. 👍🏻 This Channel deserves more supporter.
Okay but your accent is amaazing
Mendon Elm thanks 😂
i think makeup actually helps me pass if i contour my cheekbones and nose but that might not be for everyone!
Yessss the nose contouring really gives me euphoria
Contouring Does There’s A RUclips Video For That I Tried That The Cashier At Wal-Mart Called Me Sir
What’s Euphoria?
This is incredible! Congrats dude! I know a lot of guys will be able to benefit from this.
Elliot Jean tysm!!!!
This helps a lot. Thanks for putting your time into making this
Alex Yarke you’re welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Found this in my recommended, really helpful as a masculine nonbinary!
Are You Non Binary And Trans Masculine Or Demi Boy?I’m Non Binary And Demi Boy
The walking tip is a lifesaver I've been trying to find out a more masculine way to walk and this is perfect thank you bro
I'm so happy I have a deep voice FoR a GiRl although I'm not a girl lol
What Do You Mean A Deep Voice For A Girl I’m Not A Girl?
Tip for dudes with a femme voice, hum with your head going up and down until your vocal chords don't feel tight, then open your mouth. Feel how your throat kind of opens too? Close your mouth, but keep your throat open. Relax your shoulders, and talk. That should make your voice sound deeper.
Thanks for this video ! I'm a trans guy, and I'm pre T, I need to get my hair cut differently, because mine is feminine even though I go to the barber.
“Don’t get involved in girly drama”
My drama obsessed self:
I recommend Spectrum Outfitters for Binders as well. They are UK based. Although at face value the look more expensive with the shipping you’d pay for GC2B it works out at around the same price. They also only have the compressing material on the front meaning less strain on your back.
Thank you so so much I’m a trans boy here and it’s been hard for me most people around me don’t support trans people. Only a few will call me by Onyx which is my preferred name, I will definitely try all these tips like packing and making my own binder! Thanks a lot, your one and only,
Onyx
Amazing video. I love that it's very well explained and organised. I hope more people discover your channel because it's very helpful for trans guys.
Thanks so much :)
This guide is very helpful! It looks like I'm already on the right track with a lot of these. I cant help but feel a little bitter at how we have to do all of this analysing and tweaking just to be perceived as who we are while others don't even have to think about it, but I try to remember that things worth having don't come easy.

Fair warning for the minoxidil, please be very careful if you have pets.
Hey man, brilliant video! Can I ask, how did you get a little avatar of you & sync up with the narration?
Thank you! And it’s an iPhone thing called Animoji but you can get apps for it on other phones :)
(and so will you 😉)
Talking Down?Try Telling Your Dad Again
@@ConnorShankles-zd3fu weird mix of both, also cus this was so long ago I don't actually remember it, but i have binders now! I don't think he was trying to talk down to me looking back but yea
I Support You 100% Non Binary Or FTM Trans Guy?
Love this!! I'll have to use these steps
Noah SkyR 💓💓💓
look at what the boys around you are wearing and copy them
what the boys around me wear: adidas pants, supreme shirts, and soccer socks with white sneakers
what if i want style tho.
I feel you. I dress femininely, but not the way that girls at my school do. I like to be ~fancy~
The thrift store is your best friend. Almost every article of clothing I own is second hand. If you are on the larger side, it will be harder to find great clothes, though. There are simply more clothes in smaller sizes. Maybe you can wear suits. Like, generic teacher suits.
I’m a woman I don’t want to be a man but I want to be a masc woman for my future girlfriend this helped a lot thank you
Edit:I commented this 9 months ago and I’m trans now lol
damn ur trans now :0
Congrats
girly gossip? Sweety I may be a trans man but I am still gay🙄💅🏼
I have.... I hate to say but c cup and I’m like 5.2 in height... -_- sometimes I wanna die... *siiiiigh*
Same bro
one note, you did recommend trans tape, but id like to say that you should NOT use trans tape if you have sensitive skin!!! i tried it once having eczema and it definitely scarred 😕
this is so frickin useful! especially for teens thank you!
I don’t know if those would be high enough to help, but I thought I would mention it, in case you haven’t heard of those before ❤
Love this alot..This made my passing a bit..Thx for the help :)))
Justaboy NL any time man!
You see, I wanna look masculine, but I don't wanna look straight
Sammme lmao
Tehee my Bi/gay trans ass like fool wdym deep voice
Exactly
Also another tip if you dont have money and are mostly flat chested I highly suggest sports bras! They've always worked for me and their a much more affordable option
pretty good tips overall, working out can do a lot for body shape and you can socialize with gym bros which are the most manly men
im not trans but these videos help me to do vocal impressions so thank you a lot :)
Recently I saw a Reddit thread that asked how trans men feel about being treated as a threat the way cis men are. My answer was "We generally understand why, because we've experienced what is making women react that way, and don't take it personally. I advise this mindset, as much as you can achieve it, for all men."
i got referred to as a boy by mistake but they never bothered to fix it and im feelin really good 😌✨
one tip for walking to help your hips sway less is imagine a line on the ground from where you are to where you're going and walk with one foot on either side of the line, instead of walking on the line. walking with your feet directly in front of each other reads more feminine, so avoiding that can be good ❤
Thank you so so much for giving me those guys accounts you don’t believe how that helped me
I'm struggling sooo much with my voice, it always gives me away because I have such a high voice 😢
remember passing is not a necessity, people who don't pass are just as trans as people who do and looks are not the determining factor of your gender identity and passing is not the goal of everyones trans journey.
okay but like i really love this. omg you're so underrated. 💕💕
Hey, I’m coming out on October 14th in honor of national coming out day. I will update once that happens!
Good luck king 👑💖
WARNING FOR MINOXIDIL: it is VERY fatal to cats. If you have cats I wouldn’t recommend using it, because if it even touches them they will lick that area, ingesting the minoxidil and it will kill them unless you have a very good eye on your cat/cats so you can get them to the vet asap.
I just want to say this to yall:
WELCOME TO THE BOOOOOOOOOYS!
Cries in parents who don’t let me cut my hair
I feel like rapunzel-
put gum in ur hair lol
I have a hard time passing bc my family all ways tell everyone I am a girl even if I tell them I'm trans and my family make me were girls clothes till even though I been out for more then a year as trans
“I don’t recommend any crazy hair colors”
Me, a trans male, about to get my hair dyed rainbow: O_O
(Still gonna do it tho. Anyway, that’s as far as I’ve gotten in the video. Awesome tips so far!!)
I bet it looks (or will look if you haven't do it yet) so cool and handsome!
Why do you need to watch videos on how to act and walk like a man? If you're a man it comes to you naturally
Youll look like a clown
@@thegovtdoesntcareaboutyou
…I’m sorry but you’re kinda stupid
I cut my hair and I thought I passed but today I was giving money to charity and the lady said I was such a kind pretty generous girl, and I was stupid enough to not realised she said this until after left, so I couldn’t correct her. (Cut my hair three days ago)
Him: to pass with height you can get platforms to be taller
Me who’s ftm who’s taller then every girl I’ve met:
I have been struggling with my gender for years now, and as an afab this feels like a really safe place for me, so firstly I'd just like to thank you for making these videos. secondly I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me a little more about trusting myself? because I've very recently decided to go with genderflux as my "label" because I go though so many phases with gender. though the times I feel most feminine, I tend to convince myself I've been faking everything else. idk if I'm the only one but I just needed a place to get this out and here seemed like the safest.
as an afab? u mean arab? if u did mean arab im a trans arab too! ive only realized like 2 weeks ago so i have no idea what i am tho
im kind of scared to know what i am anyways, i watch all these videos yet i dont do anything 😭
Thanks i haven’t had surgery and this is amazing
Honestly I didn’t know a lot of the stuff on this list and I really needed this so thank you!(Gonna send this to my friend who recently came out to me as trans ftm hehe)
*SOBS IN CLOSETED* (literally im crying rn)
"To give you sort of a Dorito shape" 😂 I'm not hatin btw im trans that part just made me laugh😂 but yeah passing is hard af especially since i don't want to go on T or anything if anything i get seen as a 12 year old boy😭
Holy shit, this is a lot more than expected. This is really nice, thank you for your info. :)
A few girls in my class “mis-gendered” me as male and thought it hurt me, little do they know it was validating me and fueling and self esteem 😈😈
accidental ally
Thanks for sharing buddy
:)
I'm able to pass now after following tips from this vid after seeing it a few months ago and tysm dude. really highly appreciate it. any tips for a haircut for someone w a round face shape who doesn't like to style my hair/has no time to? I'm kinda lazy lol
1:18 this is actually so cool! my hair has gotten darker with age, i feel more masculine now hahahsha
I’m a cisgender female. I know I’m a girl but i hate being called pretty and i so badly want to be fucking handsome so here i am
once I get a haircut I will probably pass because I’m 13 and I already kinda look like a boy with long hair so SIDKWODJSKA however it’s hard to find a hair style I want because I’m asian and I have thin straight hair, there’s no volume whatsoever. And most pictures have the hair styled in them, I can’t find any with just normal hair. no hairspray, no rearrangement, just clean and brushed.
If you (like me) are not allowed to get a binder, you can get a bra that is too small and put it on a other bra that is more comfortable and it helps
Thanks for the tips I got called sir for the first time:)
