  • This video explains about the types of Cell Surface Receptors. There are 2 structural classes of Cell Surface Receptors 1. Single pass receptor 2. Seven pass receptor. Cell surface receptors may also be classified as 1. Enzyme linked receptor 2. Ion channel linked receptor 3. G protein linked receptor (G protein coupled receptor)
    Ion channel linked receptor can be subdivided into Ligand gated ion channel, voltage gated ion channel & second messenger gated ion channel

    Sir, what is the difference between permeable ,semipermeable and selectively permeable?

      Semi-permeable membrane allows certain molecules to pass through but not other depending on size & charge of molecules, while selective permeable membrane chooses what to pass through or what not to (for example, it has ion channels which are specific to particular ion)
