I so totally love going crabbing they are very fun to catch and they are very delicious to eat. I also love eating different other types of seafood as well. Seafood is pretty much better for you than anything else. I love eating crabs, shrimp, lobsters, muscles, clams, and any other type of seafood that's out there it's yummy yummy. By the way excellent fantastic video This is.

I need to try the fuel! I use turkey legs or mink and they work really good.

I don't know I think I saw some Fish Bait at 3:11 and not that "fuel" stuff, What you guys think bout this "shrimp fuel"?

They used one trap that solely had pautzke and one that had bait soaked in pautzke. The one with bait did 10x better than the one with only fuel. I bought some for myself and did the same exact experiment. One had a sponge/rag combo soaked in crab fuel for 24 hours. One had just chopped mackerel. One had mackerel and crab fuel. After 8 separate 20 minute soaks, the fuel had one small crab and the other two that had mackerel bait had 6-8 crabs for each pull. It didn't matter if the mackerel was soaked in pautzke fuel. Fresh cut bait works wonders. This stuff might work a little, but it's best not to waste your money.
Also, I tried it during lobster fishing too. Didn't catch a single lobster with this stuff. Again, mackerel worked its magic but this stuff failed.

Santa Monica bay is so polluted that I would never eat anything out of that bay.

    • @chrisizme2

I think it's cleaner the further out you go. Fishing and crabbing on the piers are horribly polluted. You can actually see the sewage dumps from the Santa Monica pier.

spider crabs are garbage...you cant eat those can you? You come across them all the time up here in NY while fishing during the ends of the tides when everything slows down, and they have no meat on them at all and i've never heard of anybody being excited about catching one. they're a trash species over here, you said you were hoping to find some spider crabs at the beginning of the video

I lived in Redondo Beach all my life and since I started fishing here at the age of 12 I was told the same thing and have always thrown them back. But a few years ago the seafood restaurant on the pier was selling them! A friend of my tried one and they did have plenty of meat in the legs but it just looked ugly with bumps all over the meat otherwise my friend said it tasted good.

They look like a relative of the long (spider) legged King crabs, bumps and all.

I like crab but these days I only eat if I'm somewhere with people who feel like paying for either dungeoness or Alaskan snow crab or king crab, because blue crabs and regular spider crabs are nasty and eat shit and garbage and can make you sick.
