if there's something hard in my life, I can't stop crying listening to noel's tunes... there magic in his music that moves a 17 years old girl who weren't even born in the age of Britpop. such a perfect remedy for weary heart.
Richard Cox His album went #1 in the UK, meanwhile here in America....well, it reached 35. It's quite shocking that an artist as accomplished as NG is not even mentioned in America.
It's because here in America the powers that be want the masses to listen to songbirds with little talent like Beyonce and Kate Perry or antiquated rock bands like Black Sabbath and the Eagles that have overstayed their welcome.
"Riverman" There's something in the way she moves me to distraction. I've travelled all this way to try and make amends. 'Cause heavy in the air are the words that she left hanging. I've tried to walk away but I only stand and stare.[Chorus:] In the rain that comes.. All of the love that was left behind is gone. When the Riverman runs.. Find me the girl who electrified the storm. 'Cause in a little while.. she'll be gone. I waited in the rain, my feet too wet to stand in. I shouted out your name behind the rainbows end. But somewhere in the crowd she heard me jingle-jangling. And like a memory that fades, she slipped away again.[Chorus]
THIS IS SO FUCKING UNDEREXPOSED: ESPECIALLY HOW PERFECTLY AND EXQUISITELY PSYCHEDELIC IT IS. One of the many wonderful songs that got me through and out of the worst depression of my life a little over a year ago.
His work is cathartic, uplifting, introspective, interesting and emotional - such a wide range of feelings I get listening to it. I will never turn down a good listen of Noel (or indeed Oasis), which can suit whatever mood I am in regardless of the day I've had, or am having. That, in my eyes, is what makes him a complete and absolute musical genius.
Love the dreamy melancholy, puts me in mind lots of things at once, Floyd, early Verve, the psychedelic vibe of 90s, but thats all good. Fair play to him for doing his own thing and coming up with a brilliant atmospheric song.
Lucas Peter It's a brilliant track, and the album I think is terrific but for me, the only real stand-out track. Noel's first album was better, for me, but they're both great. Noel's fantastic.
I was actually searching for Riverman by Nick Drake. Stumbling across this was a happy accident indeed. Noel is a brilliant songwriter. One of the brightest talents to emerge from the sea of creativity that was Britain’s Brit Pop era. Liam had all the swagger and charisma befitting a front man, but it was Noel who crafted the songs that defined an entire generation. Noel’s work here with High Flying Birds only serves to cement his status as a prodigious musician. ❤️
he did one already and it's called Freaky Teeth. I mean listen to it, the lyrics... the queen, criminals, thunder and lightning, death. Listen to the progression, sounds like 60's song, like a British batman theme. Pretty sure he wrote it for one of the recent Bond films and it was turned down.
Loved this from the minute I heard it.He kinda injects extra doses of soul into it at at certain points like ,"find me the girl who...".I love it when he does that.
this song really showed me just how talented noel is.to take a few simple chords and with the production behind it great.love the use of alternate chords in the background.sounds like chords that floyd and johnny marr used.thats the kind of chords i use.very nice
I'd like to see all the people who's saying he's a crap musician, making a tune as great as this one. Why people think complicated is better? One of the things I admire the most about Noel is that with little "skills", as you say, he blows our minds with his beautiful sounds and touching songwriting. Simplicity can be beautiful too. That's the great thing about art.
First AC syndicate intrduce me to him. Then afterward i listen to his song. Its been four years when i was first know him. In those years till now i have an appreciation to him and to his masterpiece.
Going to the concert in Toronto with my daughter in May. Noel's two albums are outstanding. Get them both if you don't have them. You won't be disappointed!
I love this song, sounds very much like Noel.- He hasn't changed his essence. He never disappoints his fans. I really liked the album as a whole, it's very very good. Hope Noel will come to Buenos Aires soo.-
MAN!..... THAT AAAHHHHH AT THE START OF THE SONG MAKES ME EVERYTHING......... GREAT SONG FROM WONDERFUL AND TALENTED ARTIST........ NEVER DIES...... IF IT DIES THINK I AM DEAD........ GREAT ONE.....
Heard this song on chatty man and its an instant hit and very catchy, great sound and love Noels personality such a great artist and very witty fella , I miss these kind of artists in the charts..
One of those songs that you just wish would go on forever
It does though😴
The rift
This is a fantastic song. One of Noel's best, solo or otherwise.
Yet another fabulous song by Noel Gallagher, this man is the best of my generation.
And the next couple after that
One of the most underrated tunes of late. I love it.
Lol

I only wish here in the States he would get the recognition he deserves.
I wish here in the UK he got more recognition, but oh well...
chrisbacos Ofc he cant, Americans listen to shitty commercial music to shake their fat ass

One of the best solo guitars ever! Pink Floyd vibes. 💗
this and The Dying Of The Light are easily the best tunes on the new album for me
Sam Black me too. dying of the light best i guess
Sam Black The video in the other hand...
Lock all the Doors & The Right Stuff for me, album is masterpiece though
Could not agree more Sam Black... I love the sax (?!) breakdown in this one!
Sam Black The Mexican too....

Great song by Noel Gallagher, a true poetry, these are songs that will last forever
Noel has perfected the craft of writing these elusive mellow tunes. Simple but Sheer brilliance!

Hope you are still going strong mate
Noel Gallagher... The underrated songwriter.
@@guyborrows3234 👌🏻😊💓

This song is so well done- the lyrics, the instrumental.. I can't applaud Noel enough. Thank you NGHFB for making real, good music!!
A masterpiece of a true genius, thanks to the universe for Noel 🫀✨
Actually lost hours of sleep because couldn't stop listening to this song. Damn, I needed some good music, bless you Noel.

So psychedelic, artistic, mysterious.. absolutely adore it
Undoubtedly the best song in the best album of 2015 !
Lucas Peter Correct.
Lucas Peter It's a brilliant track, and the album I think is terrific but for me, the only real stand-out track. Noel's first album was better, for me, but they're both great. Noel's fantastic.
Matt Levy Great analysis !
Lucas Peter 2015 is still young, but I've a hunch the remaining eight months are more apt than not to prove you right.
+Matt Levy Prefer the Dying of the light personally.

I'm new to the Noel Gallagher table, I'll tip my hat to the mans entire back catalogue.... but i love and admire he's solo material, how good is this.
I can't stop listening to this track, pure genius!!!!
this could so be an intro song for a James Bond film, Noel Gallagher has got a solid track here, love it!
007 in...
RIVERMAN
Coming to theaters this July.
Why does every guitar intro he ever made have to be best thing to exist? I can't take it!
I wish Noel did a James Bond theme song that would be amazing!
he did one already and it's called Freaky Teeth. I mean listen to it, the lyrics... the queen, criminals, thunder and lightning, death. Listen to the progression, sounds like 60's song, like a British batman theme. Pretty sure he wrote it for one of the recent Bond films and it was turned down.
michael same like everyone says that
A.k.A what a life was like the bond tune that never was....
“The Man Who Built the Moon”
Put on Falling down and Imagine a car chase

Noel you are the best
This song is pure perfection!
two amazing albums in a row - and an excellent live concert (very glad I went). Both albums together is a superb roadtrip sound track too.
Love this song, really like the combination of old school Oasis and new musical elements like sax and a pink floyd solo!
I'm loving all of this album. This song in particular. That guitar riff is very nice!

The dying of the light, In the heat of the moment, and the ballad of the mighty is for me simply the most outstanding tracks.

Best song of this last 20 years.
Noel is such a GOD.
After a release like "Chasing Yesterday" and wonderful songs like "Riverman", "The Dying Of The Light" he has non nominations at the Brit Awards.
So what? Awards mean nothing. Enjoy the music.
+Tom Charlton Must say I agree with this.
***** I think you are right. Look to the Grammys the same s**t. .-))
who cars, Eddie from PJ once sad 'fuck awards, i do what i love'

I love the "Pink-Floyd-sax-passage" in this great song. And I love the hole Album.... it's fantastic
That glorious chorus. Standing on a hillside overlooking a northern town, cold wind on your face.
This is gold. This is pure gold. Even if oasis get back, High Flying Birds should keep going. Noel is amazing.
I'm in love with the guitar solo!

He's always had a grasp of textures and great arrangement amongst many other obvious attributes. Stirling stuff!!

Beautiful.

The chorus to this song is top notch good work Mr. Noel your the best always will be!
Me oyó tintinear
