    There's over a million people living in that part of North Flordia so I hope everyone's paying attention, call friends and family in the area, prepare your property, anticipate flood, and then leave the area for 1 to 2 weeks, go stay interstate with friends or family until the powers restored then return to clean up and recover. Keep some cash on hand but not too much in case of theft. And beware property left behind could be looted so move valuables.

    I am praying that the state of Florida gets in their tornado shelters and I pray that they stay safe Reed Timmer because the outer bands of hurricanes you know as well as I do buddy them mesocyclones within the outer bands of the hurricane more especially that dry air being fed into the hurricane all those conditions when them outer bands tighten up just right it can cause a major tornado outbreak that's why I am hoping and praying that the people of Florida stay safe God help them!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      Hi, do you mind explaining what that means?
      I live quite close to Keaton Beach.
      I lost my house to Hurricane Michael back in 2018 and then moved back to my hometown and got hit by Idalia last year so I pay attention. But I don't panic, I prepare so if you don't mind explaining what you mean by that then that would be great.
      Thank you for your time, stay safe and have a blessed night.

    • @saltyhumansWX
      @saltyhumansWX 2 месяца назад +2

      @@matthewthemartian Eddies break off the loop current and hold in warm water deeper than normal making more energy for storms. The bend of FL tend's to "funnel" in surge. Models are starting to trend more west of you, but as of now it is not looking good for your area. You're still on the east side that will produce bad surge.

    When you mentioned the Tilting of this system having Convection being favored on the eastern side where it's drawing moisture from the south and dry Continental air coming from the north on the west side (makes perfect sense), does this in any way have similarities to how a Trough Axis can shift from Positive to Negative in the Mid Latitudes? Are these phenomenon in any way complementary or no?
    After all, these Equatorial Gyres always have a westward component but as they strengthen they move northward too and once they get to a certain point they taper off back to the east and it seems so typical that it's because they move out of the Equator region and into the Mid Latitudes where the Barotropic structure of the atmosphere dissappears and the Baroclinic Structure of the atmosphere starts showing its mismatched, unsynchronized & ugly faces (pressure and density Gradients). The Latitudes where you start seeing Frontal Zones & where Instability is being fed by Baroclinic Waves as well as by an elevated-mixed dry layer (Convective inhibition) where air parcels [or bulk chunks of whole air masses] become too damn bouyant and rise to damn high until they cool down and become even denser, which they were already dense enough to begin with.
    My thoughts are complex but I wish to elucidate the simplest way of understanding how these phenomenon work because the difference of Density between Moist and Dry Air can be great but the difference between Warm and Cold air will almost always be greater.
    The idea that an atmospheric Instability can be so great that Lapse Rates can almost go COMPLETELY HORIZONTAL on a SKEW-T diagram is just utterly sobering and terrifying. One thing I keep wondering is if it's possible, which I think it is, is there a special circumstance likely found in the Tropics where the Dewpoint and Dry Bulb (Ambient temperature) are not only the same but where the WET BULB TEMPERATURE can actually be a degree or so higher than the dry bulb?
    As any amateur like myself knows, Wet Bulb is always higher than Dewpoint but Lower than Ambient, but can 100% relative humidity in the summer time in an Equatorial jungle per-se find itself in a position where there is still No Fog creeping over the jungle canopy when Dewpoint is equal to Dry Bulb because the Density and Pressure Gradients are so perfectly in harmony that the atmosphere just can't bring that moisture to saturation no matter how hard it tries?
    These are my thoughts.
