    For anyone confused (this is just my take on it) that guy isn’t a yellow belt and is probably a black belt too but in these types of tournaments, they make you wear different belts like blue and red to make it easier to call, that’s what I think at least, if he was a yellow belt that was pretty messed up

    • @dangiraffe5271
      @dangiraffe5271 3 года назад +9

      I did a tournament like this as a black belt and fought another black belt we just changed belts for the judging

    • @kirkbrooks9447
      @kirkbrooks9447 9 месяцев назад

      Why don't they do like everyone else and just put a small piece of red cloth on the back of one of the fighters? I've seen other people on other channels comment that some of these tournaments allow people to fight up the ranks if they can hang but it usually ends like this..

    • @xkuai3670

      The guy is a yellow belt. If a competition is labelled "pro" then they are sorted by age and weight, not by level. A friend of mine was participating in a tournament and even though he was a white belt, he fought a black belt.

    I think that the yellow belt had no chance anyway, hes a yellow belt! and his stance was poor.. he had that back kick coming but he was too blind to see it.

    not necessarily...in some competitions they just wear different color belts to help the refs keep track of points, and the belts aren't indicative of actual rank or skill

    Black belt vs Yellow belt... that poor guy doesn't even know how to do a good kick lmao...

  • @TheRollDdice
    @TheRollDdice 7 лет назад +19

    A Black Belt should scale his attacks up or down depending on the experience of his opponent. To come after this YB with that ferocity and knock him out with a head kick? And then... not approach and see if the kid was alright? The Black Belt should have been demoted to Brown and be forced to teach nothing but White/Yellow Belt classes for the next year.

    • @kyber452
      @kyber452 4 года назад

      Oh, come now. With traditional martial arts, black belts are given to students way too easily in the states. Gone are the days where the black belt was actually intimidating.

    • @TheRollDdice
      @TheRollDdice 4 года назад +4

      @@kyber452 You're completely missing the point. This Black Belt shouldn't been fighting the Yellow Belt in the first place. And the BB could have easily won this match without knocking the kid out!

    not a dragon kick, and they yellow belt had no chance lol, in go kan ru, (my karate) anyone 2 belts apart wouldnt be paired to fight. red vs blue is fine but red vs green (2 ranks apart) would not be paired in a tournament

      I did GKR as well, it’s not really recognised as a true karate style as they just blend Goju Ryu and Shotokan together and the whole GKR business as a whole is just a cash-grabbing scheme

    Black belt v yellow belt, this is Kyokushin, this is what we do. Out in the streets, you have no choice who wants to have a go at you. Kyokushin is tough and not for the faint at heart so respect to the yellow belt, he has heart and strength of character. He will fight another day.

      Or he'll quit because his burgeoning interest in the art was shattered by antiquated and obsolete ideologies. And because his jaw was shattered by some show-off with too much knowledge and not enough discipline.

    this was both guys first Novice fight, When I was a yellow belt I would fight Black belts and win, some guys cross over from Muay Thai and Kickboxing to fight Kyokushin and only gain the Yellow belt to enter competition. so it is really fair. You should look at Kyokushin differnat to Ju Jitsu.

    • @Vulgarth1
      @Vulgarth1 6 лет назад +1

      Kyokushin is karate. Ju Jitsu is Ju Jitsu.

      In kyokushin karate it is common practice to have competitions of this format open to any grade. It is the responsibility of the instructor to enter their students in suitable competitions for the ability of said person.

    Why does everyone keep saying yellow vs black belt is unfair, you get a black belt for experience in other things than fighting, maybe the yellow belt has years of experience, who knows...

    • @phamdinhhoang1998
      @phamdinhhoang1998 7 лет назад

      this is Kyokushin karate. you get your belt through the match you fight. even you have exp, without real combat, you don't get that. to black belt, you have to get through a test included 50 match ( maybe, because I saw a 100 match non stop before ) without any rest. that's why they call kyokushin karate a Full Contact Karate or the most brutal karate in the world

      Incorrect. There's a lot to be learned from somebody who has much greater experience and skill. The skill curve may seem harsh, but it's more of a learning-dense experience

    Its not unfair when the black belt was once a yellow belt too. If the yellow belt enters more tournaments and fights, he's going to be more experienced and have more heart. Btw, belt is just a color, I got bronze in my first karate tournament as a white belt o3o I did boxing and JKD before doing karate.

    • @TheChaney
      @TheChaney 6 лет назад +2

      Your statement is kind of circular in logic. Black is just a color - negative, black belt is a designation for someone who has mastered the basic forms, techniques, and principles of a martial art to the satisfaction of the instructing dojo. Amateur boxers do not do well against seasoned pro's in their prime, high school wrestlers do not do well against olympic level competitors. Like saying a grown ass man beating up on a 16 year old kid is okay because "he was once a kid too"
