In terms of Joker's Sinful Shell, it's outright stated in Strikers that Joker attained and even surpassed his previous peak in power. Maruki was stated to be in an entirely different dimension of power compared to Yaldy before Maruki's persona ever even became Adam Kadmon. And in Tactica, in a severely weakened state and lacking his wildcard abilities, he still could beat Salmael, who was also stated much stronger than Yaldy. So it's fully possible for him to be able to access power similar or even outright surpass where he was at when he first had Sinful Shell. In Persona 3 Reload, his Sea of Souls Cognitive self (who later also appears in Persona 5 X) can also use Sinful Shell just fine. Though he doesn't exactly need it as Almighty Attacks in general was the argument so he still has a way to bypass GER but I still wanted to say why I think he should get Sinful Shell as that level of power is nothing new to him and a weaker version that's meant to be a perfect copy also has access to it.

If people want more arguments as to why Joker won I suggest reading the g1 blog they go way more in-depth. In my opinion, their scaling is a little too high for Joker but the arguments of how he gets around GER and his wincons I feel are valid. Not saying Death Battle is without fault I feel if they had a little bit more time they could explained it better. But again disagree that’s fine a lot of vs is up to interpretation.

They literally showed on screen the evidence for it as well (if you payed attention). The first piece is a card from the SMT card game that describes Almighty damage as "The light of pale divinity. Those who are enveloped by this light, which governs destruction, are left with no choice but to follow the fate of annihilation beyond death." If you're TRULY a Persona fan you'd know SMT If is cannon to Persona so this applies to the Persona series. The second piece of evidence is the Omnipotent Orb item being described as bending the laws of the universe to prevent all damage but Almighty damage still bypasses the Omnipotent Orb. 3) Joker doesn't need the support of the masses to summon Satanael anymore. And as for you claiming people would need to be there to see the fight in order to give him strength, that's not true either. In both Persona 3 and 4 we see their respective protagonists getting power from their bonds despite their friends not even being in the same world as them (as Makoto Yuki was in the Velvet Room and Yu Narukami was in the TV World). 4) Joker's speed feat was literally shown on screen... twice. Even then, millions of times faster than light is actually a lowball for Joker. Same with him being universal in strength. Please stop being disingenuous. I think you're misunderstanding something here. To be blunt, in terms of power, I don't think any JoJo character comes close to any Persona party member. This is especially the case with Joker, who's on the higher end of powerful characters within the series. So even if it wasn't literally Sinful Shell (which doesn't work like the spirit bomb), any of Joker's almighty attacks would likely just as effective at erasing Giorno because he is legitimately that much stronger. You'd need a very generous interpretation of RTZ to argue Joker couldn't bypass it, and even then, it's a stalemate because Giorno doesn't have nearly enough AP to kill Joker. Okay let me clarify my statement a little more he can do any move he please and do not need the popularity to make his move strong, THE ONLY move I’m referring to is Sinful shell because the gravity of that move took the whole world to cheer him on to get the Amount of power to release that amount of power. Maruki's persona is literally Azazoth before it even evolved. He warped reality and even brought people back from the dead. Persona is just one part of a greater universe. Yet all of these things apply across all aspects of it. The events of SMT If for example still happened in Persona 1-5. "Just because they have social links, that means he can get resurrected. That's not how that works" How so? How is that not how it works? Persona 4 and Persona 5 both have shown that the social link and confidant system are parts of a greater power that kept you from dying. When you get resurrected during the Izanami fight in P4, that's your social links. When you keep from getting erased in Persona 5 by Jaldabaoth, that's your confidants. "The whole world has to be there and witnessing it" No, they don't. The social links of Persona 3-5 work the exact same way. The only time the world was "watching" was in Persona 5. In Persona 4, you are practically alone against Izanami after she erases you. There is no explicit rule that your social links have to bear witness to you. Were Nanako and Dojima watching me get beat by Izanami? Nope. But their social links still added to the greater strength of the whole. There's a reason Izanami specifically says "the will of few surpass all of mankind". "You can't compare Maruki's persona to GER" You're right. You can't. Because Maruki's Persona actually affects things in a much, MUCH grander scale than GER does. Azathoth is a reality warper on the scale of DC/Marvel fuckery, dialed to 11 once it evolves to Adam Kadmon. Maruki has the ability to rewrite the laws of then reality to the point that he essentially makes it so that you never existed to begin with. All GER does is make an action you tried to do *against it* not happen. But Adam Kadmon makes any action made *period* never happen. Nevermind the fact that Adam Kadmon can bring people back to life, real, non-illusion, flesh and blood people. Not figments of imagination, not your idealized versions of them. These are ACTUALLY those people as they were in life. Hence why Akechi, Wakaba and Okumura were back in everyone's lives. Adam Kadmon affects reality on a universal scale. GER affects reality in a condensed area of effect, when an action is taken against it. And keep in mind that Maruki was affecting the real world with his Persona. Not just the metaverse. I'm not going to agrue just here to bring up some facts. Joker has more feats then GER. GER has only appeared in the end of Part 5 where Joker has appeared in mutiple games. Just this Year Joker was in Episode Aigis DLC for Persona 3 Reload. It was state that the Abyss of Time Froze time and reset the date but the P3 cast was able to Move during this. Joker wasn't really the actual Joker more like a Cognitive being made from The Collective Unconsciousness of someone so you can say Joker was able to move in Froze time and this is Consistent since P3 cast is the second powerful group in the series behind The P2 Cast. There also Joker Willpower.RTZ really won't work since Joker Willpower alone have him and his group survive being erase from existence. It also state that The Velvet room could also bypass GER Ability make the match in Joker favor.

Do you have any idea how many characters are unbound by time and fate in general? GER is not as busted as people make it out to be, sure it's strong but it's not the most powerful thing in all of fiction.
Hell they gave GER EVERY benefit like saying king crimson erases the universe for 10 seconds and GER working outside of time. It would make more sense if king Crimson erases people's PERCEPTION of the time passed since actions one was doing before KC's ability is followed through with. That's how Gioino figured out the ability the act of his blood falling to the ground and suddenly a bigger pool shows up is proof of that, but they still made GER's ability effect things on a universal scale. Hell they also used another uncanon game to prove the uni GER scaling is consistent by negating Made in heaven.

Giorno creating life had nothing to do with the victor. The only advantage it had was turning Joker's bullets into bees and his grappling line into a snake. Also, using game mechanics for your argument is a very bad point considering that you can play the entire game with only using Joker. Joker also wasn't dead, he was staggered just like when he fought Yaldabaoth. Hell, the twins tried as hard as the could and they could not take Joker down. The voices he was hearing were his Social Links restoring his will to fight. Even still, being the Trickster negates GER's Return to Zero. You say that Giorno isn't a novice which is true but the same can be said for Joker. Giorno didn't have much ways to permanently hurt Joker. The only thing he had was GER, which was a good threat to Joker if not for Satanael which one shotted a GOD! Joker was stronger, faster, and way more versatile. If people want more arguments as to why Joker won I suggest reading the g1 blog they go way more in-depth. In my opinion, their scaling is a little too high for Joker but the arguments of how he gets around GER and his wincons I feel are valid.

2) Satanael wasn't even required. ANY Almighty attack would work. They literally showed on screen the evidence for it as well (if you payed attention). I'd timestamp the part in YOUR video but you for some reason didn't include it. 4:45-4:55 in their video they show evidence of it. The first piece is a card from the SMT card game that describes Almighty damage as "The light of pale divinity. Those who are enveloped by this light, which governs destruction, are left with no choice but to follow the fate of annihilation beyond death." If you're TRULY a Persona fan you'd know SMT If is cannon to Persona so this applies to the Persona series. The second piece of evidence is the Omnipotent Orb item being described as bending the laws of the universe to prevent all damage but Almighty damage still bypasses the Omnipotent Orb.
3) Joker doesn't need the support of the masses to summon Satanael anymore. And as for you claiming people would need to be there to see the fight in order to give him strength, that's not true either. In both Persona 3 and 4 we see their respective protagonists getting power from their bonds despite their friends not even being in the same world as them (as Makoto Yuki was in the Velvet Room and Yu Narukami was in the TV World).
4) Joker's speed feat was literally shown on screen... twice. Even then, millions of times faster than light is actually a lowball for Joker. Same with him being universal in strength.

I think you're misunderstanding something here.
To be blunt, in terms of power, I don't think any JoJo character comes close to any Persona party member. This is especially the case with Joker, who's on the higher end of powerful characters within the series.
So even if it wasn't literally Sinful Shell (which doesn't work like the spirit bomb), any of Joker's almighty attacks would likely just as effective at erasing Giorno because he is legitimately that much stronger.
You'd need a very generous interpretation of RTZ to argue Joker couldn't bypass it, and even then, it's a stalemate because Giorno doesn't have nearly enough AP to kill Joker.

Maruki's persona is literally Azazoth before it even evolved. He warped reality and even brought people back from the dead. Nevermind the fact that Adam Kadmon can bring people back to life, real, non-illusion, flesh and blood people. Not figments of imagination, not your idealized versions of them. These are ACTUALLY those people as they were in life. Hence why Akechi, Wakaba and Okumura were back in everyone's lives. Adam Kadmon affects reality on a universal scale. GER affects reality in a condensed area of effect, when an action is taken against it. And keep in mind that Maruki was affecting the real world with his Persona. Not just the metaverse. HIs power is multiversal.

GER has only appeared in the end of Part 5 where Joker has appeared in mutiple games. Just this Year Joker was in Episode Aigis DLC for Persona 3 Reload. It was state that the Abyss of Time Froze time and reset the date but the P3 cast was able to Move during this.
Joker wasn't really the actual Joker more like a Cognitive being made from The Collective Unconsciousness of someone so you can say Joker was able to move in Froze time and this is Consistent since P3 cast is the second powerful group in the series behind The P2 Cast.

Also, using game mechanics for your argument is a very bad point considering that you can play the entire game with only using Joker. @MackaFlow Death Battle consistently gets an average of 2-3 million views. Thinking they need to aggravate to get them is stupid. Especially for an episode with a winner this obvious.
