      @tomsgadgetgarage On road it is a little rougher than the Max G2.
      However, I have been loving the off road ride. Once I learned to loosen up my stance I have been flying over some really bumpy terrain.

      @tomsgadgetgarage  24 дня назад

      Yah, the Max G2 basically ruins it for nearly all other commuter type scooters with suspension haha. It’s sets the bar pretty high.
      Good to hear about your off road experience. I’m looking for some interesting scooter friendly trails in my area. More and more trails are throwing up signs about no e-bikes or motorized anything…pretty lame

  • @Patriot36

    Now my mind is working on a guess for South Mountain. IIRC, you limit the speed to 20mph uphill but then allow the scooter to go as fast as it wants to, while climbing. So, it will be climbing a bit faster and pulling more current than the Max G2, you'll also incur a bit more aerodynamic resistance because of the higher speed and It's also heavier. On the plus side it's battery is 8.3% larger and will experience less duration at that higher current which slightly offset some of the former. I'm thinking it will make all three lookouts, won't suffer from any heat issues, won't stop on any of the grades and it will have about 16-18% juice left at the end. From a commuter standpoint, that would be a huge win.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  27 дней назад +1

      Yah I’m debating whether or not to limit the speed to 20mph or not on the hill climb. I originally did it with the Max G2 because I was concerned about overheating, but this scooter runs a lot cooler. What do you think? All out or 20mph?

    • @Patriot36
      @Patriot36 26 дней назад

      @@tomsgadgetgarage Dude, your South Mountain, commuter style hill climb is perfect, so 20mph for sure. Maybe you end up doing a different programs for your big sport scooters but the test you've been doing is a really good fit for the ZT3.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  25 дней назад

      Yah you’re right, I’ll keep it to 20mph, especially since it’s got a relatively similar sized battery to a lot of the commuters.

      @escootIreland 25 дней назад +1

      @tomsgadgetgarage well to be honest I love them. Range is really good for commuter eScooters, torque is nice and better than on other smaller eScooters. V50 my favourite folding that takes minimum space so it's with me 24/7 in my studio or car and S65C is super smooth to ride with brilliant brakes. S65 I sold because I get everything almost the same from S65C except for S65 being 48v system and having battery in aluminum housing that makes it more resistant to water damage. I'm hoping to get ZT3 pro at some stage to try it out. I see you tried Inmotion Climber. Want to know one secret?

    @Patriot36 27 дней назад

    okay, okay, not too bad at all. It was about 1.5mi less than I thought but your average moving speed was .5mph faster than the Max G2 moving speed and it seemed like you were on the dirt a bit longer in this test compared to what I remember from your other range tests (I could be wrong). I like the ESG test as a worst case guide but it hurts similar scooters with higher top speeds and favors similar scooters with slower top speeds. I have found that all things being equal... speed, elevation, stop & go, rolling resistance, motor/controller efficiency, watt-hours will always be the most accurate indicator of range. You do a great job an controlling those factors as best as practically possible and I think we saw solid showing here!

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  27 дней назад

      It did better than I expected. I was expecting something closer to 20 miles, similar to the Apollo GO. The fact that it outperformed the Max G2 was pretty impressive. The 11” tires are also a plus. I had no issue transitioning from pavement to gravel/dirt.
      Yah there were a ton of people out and about today. It’s the cooler weather bringing everyone out haha.

  • @alekseipopov9919

    I'm seeking advice on choosing between the Segway ZT3 Pro and the Apollo City 2024 electric scooters. My priorities are range and ride comfort; acceleration and top speed are less critical. I plan to use the scooter on a mix of asphalt and gravel roads, as well as park trails. Any insights or recommendations based on these criteria would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the video!

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  25 дней назад +2

      So range is going to be the limiting factor on the ZT3 Pro. I was able to squeeze out 23 miles with speed capped at 20mph and me weighing in with gear at 204lbs. The good news is this thing charges very fast with the 3.9 amp charger.
      I personally haven’t had the opportunity to ride the Apollo City 2024 yet, so I can’t comment on the feel of the suspension between the two. For me, the ZT3 Pro is a comfortable scooter to ride and the suspension does a good job of absorbing much the lumps and bumps in the road. It does ride a bit more stiff than a scooter with a hydraulic suspension, but I think the City 2024 also uses straight springs.

    OK Tom I was waiting for this review and happy and sad to see it beat the ninebot G2 what I have lol

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  26 дней назад

      I was honestly surprised myself haha. I was expecting somewhere around the Apollo GO’s performance. Segway does string out the last part of the battery by slowly reducing speed over time in order to maximize range. I thought for sure it would stop before 22 miles, so I was delightfully surprised when it got to 23 miles.
      There are definitely scooters on the market that can go farther and have more power, but this thing does a great job of blending tech with performance and off pavement capability. They even have a branded charger which is almost unheard of with scooters and e-bikes lol.

      @@nokbok6536 the speed is the biggest drain on the battery, the second probably either weight of the rider or how often you stop and go (crossings+lights) etc. because of acceleration to push max speed again from 0. Lower speed+little stops = you can expect even more range, if you're a bit overweight, its a good motivator to lose weight too, for some people at least lol.
