Being in the aerospace industry, the front or leading edge is VERY important for aerodynamics! 😉 Look into going with lmp (le Mans prototype) style body.
Yes agree.... I'm still waiting on some 'stuff' from good old China... so I made do with about 75% of my planned 'Aero'. The next run will have a few extras added. I want to keep it open wheel...and 3s.

Much easier to snap on a more aerodynamic body than messing around with suspension and other structural components. He's aiming for 100mph, not back to the future flaming disappearances!
Well done on the new PB, I've been playing around with the timing and as you advance it, it seems to come alive at the very top end, just when you think it's maxed out if seems to come alive. That's what I've found. Only getting into the 'power band' at the higher revs. Also the low turn rocket motors can take out the esc when on 2-3s...more to follow

He has a foam pad underneath to force the air over the car. Essentially you need the least amount of space between the ground and the chassis. An easier way is to just put a foam splitter on the front but if the car gets a draft or turns slightly the sides get exposed and your airborne

Phil, great work in the sub chassi frame ( it's notable how steady it goes); mate, the mesh is amazingly smooth 👌 Still, if I'm not mistaken that motor can draw about 115 amps so I think definitely the batteries aren't the proper ones (you got about 105 amps available), and I think the ESC is heating because of that; I mean it's 120 capable...very "tie" for the 115 of the motor and it's just impossible for it to delivery 115 amps to the motor due to batteries 🤔 Regarding the speed variation there's a chance of being a pack release, though they use not to be so "long"...🤔 Can't wait for the next ... battery pack 😆👌👌👌
I'd guess the speed controller may be overheating and throttling back to save itself, once it cools off a bit, it lets rip again. Don't forget, not only did you remove the fan, but you're making an attempt to still the air inside the body to stop parachuting. My old Yokomo mr4-bc used the exact same method to hold the body shell to the chassis. The 10T single I had in there used to destroy esc's and there were no actively cooled esc's at the time (roughly 15 years ago).
I have the same esc, its lipo cutoff is too sensitive. It reduces the power when the voltage fluctuates, try turning down or turning off the cutoff voltage.
There should be some quad racing batteries in the right size. HobbyRC or UnmannedTech are both great. Quad racers are severely bottlenecked by the lipos and run current and voltage telemetry in the on screen display. They KNOW what works or they just can't keep up with the pack. There's plenty of battery testing done on the quad packs too so it's pretty objective.
Cheers dude... will look in to it. I've manage to do a few mods and can now get a 5000mah 50c under there... the peak Amps on that is well above what my motor needs.

Are you trying to do this 100mph goal on stuff you already have or on the cheap?? Seems like you'd throw a 7000kv+ castle system in it and a 1500mah 4s protek 120c battery that cost around 50 usd. Could find it all used for around 200 maybe less with a little luck.

So in the speed runs on you tube why do they keep the rear spoiler, because of motor weight you don't need weight in the back plus torque would tend to lift the front end, it seems like you would get rid of the rear spoiler, lower the front end and find a body that blocks the air from getting under the car causing it to take off, widen those car body posts to spread the downforce. Sorry about the late question, new to RC. Like your videos

Well i wasn't going to pull the trigger on this car because im still working on my very first 144001, actually thats my first car in 25 years😳. Buuuut @me him rc refered me over here to watch your Corally Radix 6 review. Well i pulled the trigger so now i have the working progress 144001, 124019 in the mail, and the 104001 on pre order. Have my hands full now right! Love the Radix 6, once i play with the 3 above for a bit im going to pull the trigger on Radix 6. Pulling in this week i also have the Hobbywing EZRUN Max10 60a with the 3652 400kv motor. Not sure what im putting that in yet. Anyways great job on your vids! I had a vision of 100mph RC on land, sea and air...managed it in the air with big warbirds, managed it on the water with a large scratch built V Hull (scarey !) but gave up on land at 75mph. Moved on to crawling, drifting and quads. I've ben RC crawling in the Derbyshire Peaks since the first HSP 1/8th crawler came out (6 years ago?). Have fun
The up n down performance is that quicrun Phil. I’ve two and my mate has one and they’ve never given consistent output. I gave up using them and went to a 120a sct but that’s a bigger esc obvs.

If you have a spoiler on the back it will lift the front either add front spoiler or decrease the angle of rear to a minimum . If your aiming for top end reduce the drag the spoiler creates. You could even find some slim foam sheet to put under the chassis to reduce the air flowing under the vehicle
Yes, the last configuration had a much more aggressive spoiler., so I've changed to this one (removed some material to reduce the downforce slightly). You do still need to keep the rear end pushed down for traction. I've also made some mods under the chassis that I'll share at a later date.
Phat Bodies Atak body kit looks so nice on this one and the schumacher foams, I have 2 of those bodies and the rims for WL Toys 144001. Your red 144001 inspired me to get them. Was after a Traxxas rustler spoiler so cheap did you cut the hole with a drill Tomley? Great video mate.
PS: make a "nose cone" that bolts where the front bumper would go, for a little down force up front and to "hide" 2/3 of the front shocks. shocks and plate are flat vertical frontal surface area. if you go wide with it you could do same for a lot of the area of the front tires.. Indy and F1 run like that same reasons.
I have notice the same behaviour on the HW 10BL120. Had one in a TT02B that would intermittently stop doing the burst & only run on half power. Never got to the bottom of it. Put it down to poor quality control & stuck it in the spares box for a later date.

Try an FPV drone battery, they are usually around 70-100C easily, and 1300-1500mah, so it will be lighter and way more powerful
Or just any 3s that's not trash. 100C is literally the worst 3s I own all my "performance" ones are 150C.

If you try that esc in a heavier car the effect comes on much more obviously. The 60a has no problems strangely 😂
