*Disclaimer these are links from my personal amazon affiliate & I will be paid a small to let's be honest large commission if used so thank you very much for you're support!
At 5:25 "Didn't pay for this with my own money". It is sure easy to recommend something when you get it for free . .eh? :) One thing that would have been nice to hear you talk about is how easily it dries out. Once the water gets inside of the covers over the tubes, these are a bugger to get dry so they don't mold inside. No one really talks about that issue.
You suck man you really suck. Did you happen to watch the video??? I mentioned the stray hairs about a million times to the point the company had to reply back. All my reviews are like this I hardly EVER just like everything about a product. So just so you know this level of honesty didn't help my relationship with them. I'm going to pin this so anyone else dense enough to think that can see this reply, BLOWS my mind to no end you are saying this based of this review. I was honest af to a fault & still I get shit like this? Man wtf.. Then you end it with "wish you could have talked about how it dries out" (And then edited it to look much less D-ish), bro that is a great detailed & highly edited quality review. Thanks for the one & done comment though!
From Advanced Elements as seen below-
"Great review Will! Nice attention to detail and we really appreciate you proving that the kayak performs great and can easily fit back in the bag!
As for the “frayed hairs” or untrimmed threads in finishing, we’re happy to say that the issue has already been addressed with our factory and rectified. While some might consider it minor, we took it seriously and immediately investigated and found that it was isolated to a small production of this particular model and did not see this on any of the other 15 kayak models that we make. This QC/QA step is actually one of many in our standard protocol, that also includes a full setup of each kayak and 48-hour inflation prior to packing. Thanks very much for pointing it out, and thanks for all of the positive comments!"
Ohhhhh bad Will being so honest down to small details in the review. This triggers me to no end since I've even been told by other viewers that I didn't have to mention it so much. WHAT?!!?!?!? I can't win for losing here, try to show people something that could be improved & I take a load of shit over it??? Man people can suck this is what I get for being honest, so you're reply blows my mind to no end.
On top of all this I didn't have to mention I was sent the boat I could have lied & you still think I'm being dishonest after 100% transparency?...
Bugger off my channel & don't let the door it you on the way out.
I'll usually take a little air out. Put in sun. For 30 minutes top and bottom. Or an hour on a not so sunny day.
I DO appreciate transparency/honesty. So please, DON’T stop. This review was very helpful. Thanks!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review - looks like I am buying this today!
Thanks so much for such an honest and upfront thorough review of this inflatable kayak. I was about to get overwhelmed with all the potential choices of kayak types and specific models, until I saw your video review. You took your time and made sure that you pointed out both the quality and features of the kayak along with a few minor issues. Turns out this model really matches up well with what I was looking for in a kayak. I purchased the Island Voyage 2 this morning, and I am really looking forward to getting it out on the water.
Thanks again,
Glad you liked it man it's a great kayak!
any word as of now? hows the durability holding up for you? would you suggest getting the more expensive drop stitch floor models?
Great review. We are in the market for some inflatable kayaks to take out on lakes. We do ham radio Parks on the Air, and would transport radio equipment on it as well. Your review gave me a bit of confidence that an inflatable might just be an option. Thanks, and I just subbed.
Best of luck out there!
Really good review on a great product
Thanks Ruben it's still one of my favorite boats
I owned the cheaper Intex Excursion Pro and it lasted one season. Upgraded to the Sea Eagle 380X and I can honestly say that for inflatables, drop stitch flooring should be the MINIMUM standard. It's a game changer and I hope with the new trend of inflatables, manufacturers start offering it at reasonable cost.
Yup same here, the Intex Pro is great but for the price I would also go with the SE for the extra durability
Great review. 👍 I’m on the waiting list to buy one, when they become available in mid January.
Thanks for the good words Steve!
They seem hard to find..
Will I have to say - excellent review ! I totally agree with your assessment of quality control . That velcro given a little use will start becoming loose , and all those loose frayed threads - well just makes it appear as if they are more concerned about pumping out the merchandise . Thanks for your review .
I'm hoping they comment here so people can see they care, that's what really causes people to take notice. All easily fixable. Cheers for watching man
I like these guys
@@advancedelements ..replace that light colored canvas floor with something that's easily washed! It will be a muddy mess in no time! How do you clean it?
Nice kayak, and impressive workload. Do they have a version with dropstich floor? I got the Aquaglide Blackfoot angler, very similar to this one. Would not change an inflatable for anything in the world. So easy and convienient and comfy. Nice review.
As for The Frayed hairs if you would just hit that with a quick lighter it will melt the hair and secure the stitching
Great tip
yes i was kinda tired of hearing about that as well..
@@onis1969 Oh well bad Will stop being so blunt & honest! Lol should have just said nothing, "no it's all perfect buy it". Come on guy, I have to mention stuff like this, it left the shop in imo pretty poor shape, clean that shit up before it leaves someone is going to review this. And comments like this is my reward for being honest. Thanks so much!
Hit it with a little gas a light it whoof no more frayed threads
Hi, if you use it in salt water, do you have to rinse it off with fresh water, everytime you use it, before packing it in the bag?
I had an Advanced Frame for 10 years and it served me well. Now I'm looking at this one to take a Labrador Retriever with me and that light grey canvas floor is a real downer because it will get filthy. My AF had a plastic floor.
Yeah man Covid made th yak scene go nuts
Hi there, my new V2K has what looks like pressure release valves. Are you familiar with these? Specifically do you think they prevent overinflating?
Really nice kayak.
I really like it, been my go to this season
Great review, Will. I'm not sure if I missed it, but how is the stability of this kayak? Thanks.
WHUUUUUT Samong? Dude love you're hunting videos I live out near you I think in Eastern Washington. Learned a lot from you're content man but failed my first season. Hopefully next year though! So thanks for the entertainment & knowledge man! As for the Yak the stability is awesome, just as good as any of the other's I've used. I would say the inflatable stuff like this with two tubs on the sides regardless of the make it's going to be very similar & to add to that the blow up stuff at least for me has always been more stable than hard shell kayaks by A LOT. This will be my top choice for long distance trips due to it's light weight & tight navigation. Great yak though
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thanks for the response! Really do appreciate the support. I bought a Sea Eagle Inflatable Boat for myself, but was looking around for a 2-person kayak/boat and came across this. I'll keep tabs on this kayak. Thanks again!
Uauuu 👏👏top
Parabéns!! Eu quero um caiaque 🙌
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Will this work for the beach?? Really appreciate your feed back
I am deciding between this and the sea eagle 370. or any others that are in the $300-$700 price range. Any thoughts? I will mostly be just in the Bay exploring
I have only tried the higher end $1200 Sea Eagle & it was quite nice but have not used the less expensive ones. I think you will be happy which either one you choose, I've been picking the AE here for my go to because of the weight/maneuverability. Good luck choosing!
i like it, how can you patch that thing... and what does it weight ?
those seats look like they could be used as flotations
It does come with a patch kit that consists of a very high quality patch & some glue. Thanks for watching man will be giving you credit in my next adventure for all the great comments you have left. Look for you name in the intro :)
Looks like 31 pounds
Does moisture get between the two layers?
Thanks for this great and informative review. My husband and I are trying to decide between this model and the AE AdvancedFrame Convertible Tandem, which is quite a bit bigger and a lot heavier. I'm wondering how the Island Voyage 2 would be with two people in it - specifically, whether there would be enough room/length for us to both paddle comfortably. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thanks in advance!
Yeah I've had three different adults in it one around 220 & all around 5'9 so it can hold up to two people for sure. Maybe if I & others were bigger than 6 feet I would want another one. Thanks for watching!
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures - thanks for the input! That's super helpful.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures - sorry, one additional question. Do you think the Intex Excursion Pro might be a better choice as a tandem since it's a foot longer? Or would you still go with this one? My husband is 6 feet and I'm 5'9", so we're not small people.
Any advice on how to clean the canvas? Took it out for a test ride today and my son tracked in mud all over.
Ahhh no well I'd use a hose & maybe some really light cleaner like simple green. Avoid scrubbing it in, I'd email them & see but for sure hose it off as much as you can & find some kind of cleaner to spray on & let it fall of & hose again. Good luck man
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures thanks.
That light grey canvas is awful. I can't believe they used that. I had a plastic floor in my AE kayak and it was great.
Great review! These don't seem to come with paddles, what brand are you using in the video? Also, can this be inflated with an electric pump?
This is correct it also does not come with the pump which both the paddles & pump are from Advanced Elements
Do yourself a favor and buy a high quality fiberglass paddle. I quickly disposed of the cheap paddles AE sells and never regretted upgrading the paddles.
We got this kayak 2 weeks ago and are loving how easy it is to pack and unpack as well as how it tracks in the water. Today for the first time we had issues with one side tilting and are not sure why. Too much or too little inflation? We have a basic pump so cannot tell the psi-we just inflate till “firm” to the touch on each side and the bottom as well. I am reluctant to use it that way as it does not feel safe. We inflated it several times before and it’s never happened. Any advice?
Had the same issue & that would be from over inflating it, make sure they are as close as possible. I also had one time I took a larger friend & it was just his weight he liked to kind of slouch to the right & that really caused it to lean one way but does the same in a hardshell.
Will Wild's Outdoor Adventures thanks! 😊 We will try deflating it and get a better pump!
Update: I used it about 10 times last year and really liked it. This year, I noticed the bottom part (floor) is leaking air so the kayak is no longer usable. I have no idea how to fix it as I cannot tell where it’s coming from. Very disappointing! Any advice as to how to get it fixed? It would be a shame for a relatively new kayak to end up in a landfill!
@@valerina01 You can patch that up with a patch kit & it will be good as new, a lot of people toss out boats when this happens when they could just patch it. if you put the boat in water & submerge it you will see air bubbles coming up & that will help you find the leak.
Can you tell me the exact model of the paddle?
Great content. What do you think between this and sea eagle 370?
Thanks man, either would be a good choice. The AE will be a bit higher quality but also cost a bit more. I've actually been spending the most time on m dinghy which I recently reviewed. Making a video soon about choosing between a kayak & a dinghy.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thank you for your reply, I ended up choosing the Sea Eagle due to cheaper price and it even comes with the handle, I will definitely consider a drop stitch floor if kayak is my thing
What about dry out issue?
Would you recommend this kayak for overnight (maybe 3-5 day) trips? If not, which one would you suggest? Thanks, and love the thorough reviews!
Easily, It's really durable & will fit all your things very well. I was going to take mine on a similar trip at Ross lake in Washington but they closed the lake due to low lake levels.
What is the height of it folded. I only have 12” storage height in my RV. Will his fit?
Not sure but no that won't even be close
How do you recommend blowing this thing up? Should I buy a tarp and place over grass? I just don’t want to puncture during the pumping up
I would it's not a bad idea at all, I've started doing this myself you just never know what's on the ground better safe than sorry.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thanks! If your looking for any inspiration you should try to review the Advanced Elements Sport Inflatable Kayak. It is one I have been thinking about buying. Thanks for the great reviews and feedback!
@@jacobcastle2741 You should reply back to their comment on here they left that I pinned & ask them for me to if you can kind sir? I don't think they liked my brutal honestly in the video. I just tell it like it is in my reviews. Thanks Jacob!
Would you rather have this over the intex excrusion pro?
Yeah but this one is also twice the price, now with covid the pro is going for as much as this is because INTEX is price gouging. I'd buy a Sea Eagle or this over the Intex
Will Wild's Outdoor Adventures i found the sxcursion pro for about 360, and i found this boat for $60 on Facebook market place but its used
Nice product. Thom up. Like 13.
Thank you!
How long does it take to pump it up completely at a normal pace? Thanks
About 5 minutes, maybe 8 if you are going kinda slow
I was wondering. Is there any frayed hairs?
See pinned comment
I was wondering this as well
Dude broke up with his girlfriend after she switched conditioners.
"Ah babe you look so beautiful - it's just *tsk* ah these frayed hairs*
Will, what is your take on this kayak vs the Intex Excursion Pro? Still think the Intex is durable?
For the price yeah I do, this one more than twice the price it's not even comparable at this point. Maybe the Seylor would be a better choice but this one starts at $400 & does not come with a pump or x2 paddels. So it's around $500 & at that point I have to again say "yes for $200 or less it's durable". A better comparison than the Seylor would be the $60-ish tahitti vs the Excursion Pro. *Editing this on 12/10/19 to reflect the intex being only $124 atm which is a pretty great deal
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures I came looking for follow up to your Intex Excursion Pro review. But see you have 2 more reviews now, this and the Sea Eagle. So, maybe the Intex was not all you hoped? The price was $124 at "the jungle" online mall this morning. I had it in my cart reading reviews and see it is now $169. So I pulled the trigger on the Intex ExcursionPro for $124 and a 3 year warranty for an extra $21.99. So under $150 with the extended warranty. This is my first kayak so what the heck? I def think I'd like these seats better than the inflatable ones, maybe I can buy one.
No it's a great boat, I was sent the other boats to review. I think you got a great deal a ton of people paid $200 to $230 for it
Do you prefer this or the Excursion Pro?
Not even a comparison this by miles.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thank you! I had the excursion pro and the 1st chamber started to lose air around the valve after about 4 uses :(. I had to take it back, but this Kayak looks to be my next purchase.
You will love this thing
How long do these take to dry?
Hard to say depends on how hot it is, as fast as anything wet takes to dry since it don't really absorb water.
Did the paddles come with the kayak?
No, neither did the pump. That being said it's been my go to kayak
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures What brand are the paddles and the pump?
Are you running some sort of contest for how many times you can say, "Frayed Hair's"?
Are you running a contest for being a jerk? I mean come on dude, it's a review. I mention what I see, you are really going to toss me shit over covering a manufacture defect that was bad enough the company admitted in the comments that it got missed in the QA & a check? Dude get out of here.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures I think you should watch your own video. You did a very good review but obsessed over string. Come on, its a fantastic, high quality inflatable boat and you belittled it over string. A nail clipper would make it perfect I guess? Have a nice day.
Can I take this thing fishing?
For sure
Ya ok kayak boy
imagine trying to dry it
I have not had any issues with drying it, I've heard some other guy did that reviewed a bunch of these inflatable ones & said they are hard to dry but I have had 0 issues with that. I really don't know why any would would have any issues. So I can't stand behind that at all & you saw my vid I certainly mention things I don't like.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures bruh I literally have this kayak
almost same like sevylor....
Does he know he's got pants on??
Nice review!
Your paddling technique needs improvement. ;)
I love back handed compliments like this. "Hey man awesome video buuuuuuuut" & then slap that stupid ;) like it somehow makes it ok.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures, it was "slapped" exactly so you did not need to write the way you did.
Bummer!
Regardless, if you think your paddling is fine, there's one less thing left for you to worry about. :_)
@@mortschubert3909 Bro I don't even know what you're going on about but ;)
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures, your miserable attempt at paddling. (Bad dog! No emoticons today!)
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures, heck, I did not want to be that blunt, but you kept asking for it.
Who am I to deny a man anything?!
