Thanks for making the video. I want to get something for my 3yo and I to play around in leisurely. I live in Maryland, so there's a lot of nice smooth water to play around in. I don't need anything to fancy or expensive, but I want to make sure we can use it a lot, and be safe. Of course safety is my top concern, since I'll be alone with my 3yo son. Unfortunately my car is very small. And I'm not sure that I'd be able to get anything on the roof. Also since it's just me I don't know how easy it would be to transport a hard kayak. I think inflatable kayak is the way to go. I'm not looking for anything for speed or fishing, really. Just something fun for my kid and I to do over the summer. This sounds perfect thank you!
Great review! You really covered all the aspects of this model. I just bought & reviewed the normal K2 model. I’m not sure how sturdy this one is compared to the K2 explorer, but I would be careful doing anything while on the ground. I poked a hole in the bottom not even 5 seconds after attempting to blow it up as a TINY rock was sharp enough with some weight on it to pierce the bottom. Super annoying, and it can be a real pain to patch!
I have a K2 too and it seems more like a Sevylor Tahiti both being pretty good. But have to be cautious among sharp barnacles and rocks. But this Intex Pro series seems like the higher end Choice. Kinda like my Sevylor K1 river kayak or Colorado canoe. You could trashed them around quite a bit and not worry as much about barnacles and fallen tree branches. Definitely adds peace of mind out on the water. This Intex Pro is really well put together. Really informative video

I just bought this kayak today with my husband and my 45 pound dog. This my first time owning one so i can practice on it. Then have a one person kayak. Do you know if this kayak has a umbrella to cover yourself in case it rains?
Hello all who are interested in this kayak. It was just like Will described. Easy to inflate and deflate with the pump that came with it, stable (much more with skeg installed), and fun to paddle. I paddled alone and then with my wife. I'm 210 lbs and she is 120, and it was smooth sailing. I will comment again after 6 months of use.
Just wondering I bought this and see it's rated for 220 max pounds, I'm 220 myself so with a little bit of gear is that gonna be ok or what's you experience with the boyancy limit?
No not at all lol. You will know right away when you don't have it, I got about 15 feet out & was almost doing circles trying to get back in. Comes with x2 skegs & they go in really well, would take a lot to break one off.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures thanks. Great thanks, new to all this! only reason I ask is I've only just bought a inflatable kayak without one and haven't taken it out yet. I'll have to look into getting a universal one or somehow resin one on. Great video by the way 👍
Do you think this inflatable kayak could bang into a large rock or tree and still be okay? And what about fishing hooks or the spines on a fish? Could it easily be punctured if you accidentally bump a fishing lure with it that has treble hooks? Is it thick enough to not worry about a fish poking a hole into it if you place the fish into the boat or accidentally bump the fish against it? I'm asking all of these questions because I'm interested in getting one! Thanks!
I don't want to say it's not possible it certainly is, you know how sharp the hooks can be. I think its best with any inflatable that's not military grade to really kind of baby it.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thanks for responding, bud! I appreciate it! So, in your opinion it is made of pretty tough materials and could probably handle an average banging from a rock or tree?
Yeah for sure the bottom feels really tough, tougher than the sides for sure. I think the only thing that would give you an issue would have to have a very very needle like fine point to it it. Feels much stronger than I expected. Hope you enjoy it if you get it please use my amazon link :) Any other questions let me know
I've had this kayak for a year now and enjoy it very much. Been out on the water about a dozen times. Setup becomes faster with use. Very stable and comfortable to use.
Hey great feedback! And don't be afraid to use the patch kit in the future if you ever get a hole, I'm seeing way to many people toss out various inflatables that could be patched & used for years more.
I just bought this like yesterday off amazon for 293 dollars. After watching you're video I feel even more comfortable with what I bought. I been wanting to get in to Kayaking for a while but lack the space to store one. This seem like a good option. It was cheap compared to other fishing Kayaks. I figure I'd get this one in then in a few years upgrade to a more expensive one. Any way thanks for the video I'm glad I went with this one.
I got this one for Father's day this year, and man, this kayak is awesome! It feels so tough, easy to setup, easy to paddle, and can even hold my entire family, totally worth more than the price. And I found out the pump can deflate it on my second trip, make it even better.
@@scottshepard3662 Hi man, I am not sure about "rubber" because I've seen too many kinds of rubber, let me describe my experience on it for you, the surface material feel like an extra thick, fine tarp. I've accidentally dragged it above some under water sharp stone (with no load), it didn't leave a single scratch. With the recommended air pressure, the bottom almost feel like a hard shell for anybody smaller than 150 lbs, but you for somebody over 200 lbs, the butt spot still sinks a little. I haven't had any real puncture yet. The handling is not that good due to the shape, the fin on the bottom helps a little, but still not as good as hard-shell ones. It totally worth the price, if you get a good deal, it would be fantastic. There is another useful video compares all popular inflatables, you can look it up.
To be honest I'm not really sure all I can think is trolling, if you were setting in the rear seat with the holders you would have poles crossed right in your face. I'm for sure going to be ordering one for the bar it comes with. Thanks for watching & the comment
Ordered mine Wednesday, arrived Friday, pressure tested Saturday, out on the river today! Rides and paddles nice, and so much easier to schlep around then my PVC hard shell. So far, money well spent.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures the issue with the trolling theory is that two lines will be right next to each other and probably cross/tangle. Also, if you get a fish on the line, one rod will bend into the other and could bend the eye guides of the rods.
Having had experience with both inflatables and hard shell boats/canoes, I would only consider this kind of thing if I were floating downstream in a creek or river, never paddling upstream.
I just bought a Kokopelli raft that weighs less than 8 lbs. It's going to allow me to open up a whole new world of hiking opportunities. Nice video. Cheers from Alberta.
If the pole holders aim toward the center of the kayak, if the pole falls out of the holder, it won't fall out of the boat. If the holder angles out and the pole fell out of the holder, you would lose your pole.
*If you are about to post "Hey you can deflate it by pulling the air out with the pump" it's ok don't! It's actually much FASTER to just roll it up & avoid going back around to pull the air out from various places!!!! It's not faster it's longer & more work HARD PASS YALL ROLL THAT S LIKE IN THE VIDEO FOR SPEEEEEED!!!! BYYYYYEEEEEE!!!!*
Maybe your pump is not the same ? I have this kayak 3 years. When i deflate it i first push the 3 kayak vents with my fingers (maybe 20 sec each side). After that i use the pump and deflate the rest. I need totaly 30sec for each side). That i more sensitive for the kayak. Greatings from Croatia
looks like the air valves on it are the same as a stand up paddleboard. Generally the pumps have a second port for the fill hose to pump air out of your inflatables
I do love it when people say they would have been happy to pay more. Maybe the manufacturers or retailers will take your advice so the rest of us can benefit?????
Just come across this as my mate is buying one , you can drop other rod holders in the holes, like T shape , then you are at the right angle with the rod beside you !
Lol this one I had to pay for :( While it comes with a river skeg I wouldn't take it down a river, not even sure it's rated for one. Be safe man & enjoy!
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures bit surprised as even intex explorer series have ratings and they are cheaper and not as sturdy looking as this one. I even think the dimensions are similar
Excellent review. Loved your detail. There is a way to fold up smaller. I had a 2 metre soft inflatable dinghy with the same valve setup and you reverse the air on the pump so it sucks instead of inflates. This takes all of the air out of the boat enabling a complete fold.

Great video! I have a hard body kayak. Looking around for a two person so my fiance can come with me. The hard body two person yaks really take up some room. So I think a good inflatable could be a good choice. I used to have an intex excursion 4 boat. That thing was a blast and had loads of room. I used to use it with a trolling motor. So I been a fan of intex ever since. I may pickup this pro instead of the explorer k2 or challenger k2. Seems more rugged and sturdy.
What a great idea! I was actually thinking about getting one too since last summer. I already have a raft I got from Amazon but it's a bit too big to handle, unless a friend of mine goes along with me and he rows😃 but the kayak would be much better on the river.. looking forward to some wild kayaking adventures! So I literally can't find anything about this anywhere. I figured with the great review content and the style of comment I'm reading, someone might know. Here's the deal: all the Intex tandem inflatable kayaks list a capacity limit of 400 lb. I'm a big guy, and I'd rather go tandem with someone. I'm not 400 lb, but me and someone else will probably edge over that limit, maybe even by a bit. To be honest, I don't understand the math that says all the kayaks have the same weight limit: the Dakota, the Sierra, the Explorer, the Excursion - it just makes no sense. Has anyone gone over capacity with this? What happens? I can't even find a video on RUclips of someone overloading one of these. Seriously, RUclips doesn't appear to have anything on the subject. Am I up the creek without a kayak?a
I've had mine to about 370. It was fine, filled up, moved a lot slower than solo, make sure you don't hit anything - AT ALL - when you are loaded like that bottoming out or touching anything isn't a good idea. Don't ever drag it on the ground. If you can afford it I'd spend just a little more on a SeaScape & I would buy the amazon insurance on it, small price to pay that covers punctures. Stay close to the shore, make sure you have life jackets & you should be fine. You also might want to try a rowboat from intext or Seascape, more room to move around & rowing won't take you long to learn, expect 10-20 minutes of trying to figure it out. Hope that helps!
Great question this one got stolen out my trunk around 20-25 uses, the sea eagle & AE have both held out for over 20 uses with no pops but I'm mostly using my dinghy now. Also making a video on choosing a kayak vs dinghy soon so look for that maybe next week. One thing I can say is don't be afraid of a pop these are actually safer than a lot of hard shell boats that will sink if tipped. Patching up a hole is easy & you will never need to re patch it, I see way to many people get a hole or find one after unpacking & toss out a perfectly good boat. Hope that helps, they are all great boats for the price I'd go with a Sea Eagle, these Intex boats can swing from $350-500 in a snap!
3 years later and still a great kayak. I'm going to get the single seater this month.

I paddled alone and then with my wife. I'm 210 lbs and she is 120, and it was smooth sailing. I will comment again after 6 months of use.
Just wondering I bought this and see it's rated for 220 max pounds, I'm 220 myself so with a little bit of gear is that gonna be ok or what's you experience with the boyancy limit?
what is the tuffness and handling of this like compared to an itiwit 2 kayak??
itiwit?
Doesn't it have a skeg?
2 in fact, one for rivers/lakes
Do they handle good without a skeg
No not at all lol. You will know right away when you don't have it, I got about 15 feet out & was almost doing circles trying to get back in. Comes with x2 skegs & they go in really well, would take a lot to break one off.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures thanks. Great thanks, new to all this! only reason I ask is I've only just bought a inflatable kayak without one and haven't taken it out yet. I'll have to look into getting a universal one or somehow resin one on. Great video by the way 👍
Thanks Mark best of luck!
Yo why didn’t you use the pump to deflate it lol
Takes more time LOL
Can I trust this? I don't know how to swim.
Did you watch the video? I think it sounds like the guy in the video recommends it? Even say's best in the title!
Just purchased this on eBay for $32 with taxes and free shipping
Guaranteed that's a scam good luck buying it for less than $700
Yes it was taken off the site
Hope you enjoy it if you get it please use my amazon link :) Any other questions let me know
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thanks for the info, bud!
Yeah man hope you like it
I've had this kayak for a year now and enjoy it very much. Been out on the water about a dozen times. Setup becomes faster with use. Very stable and comfortable to use.
Hey great feedback! And don't be afraid to use the patch kit in the future if you ever get a hole, I'm seeing way to many people toss out various inflatables that could be patched & used for years more.
do you inflate and deflate it it al the time? and you dry it before you store?
I inflate and deflate when I use. Then I dry it before storing in its bag
Going to take this bad boy out on the Gulf of Mexico in a few weeks. Anybody got a problem with that?
I just bought this like yesterday off amazon for 293 dollars. After watching you're video I feel even more comfortable with what I bought. I been wanting to get in to Kayaking for a while but lack the space to store one. This seem like a good option. It was cheap compared to other fishing Kayaks. I figure I'd get this one in then in a few years upgrade to a more expensive one. Any way thanks for the video I'm glad I went with this one.
How has your kayak worked out?
Didn't see this message hope it worked out for you!
I got this one for Father's day this year, and man, this kayak is awesome! It feels so tough, easy to setup, easy to paddle, and can even hold my entire family, totally worth more than the price. And I found out the pump can deflate it on my second trip, make it even better.
It's a great boat, cheers for leaving the comment Adam
Does the material feel tough.... like actual "rubber?" I'm thinking about buying one right now! ✌️👍
@@adamzhu2313 Hey, thanks for the information, mine should be here in a few days. I'm looking forward to it, thanks again.✌️👍
@@scottshepard3662 No worries, enjoy your ride!
Maybe the holders are crossed to keep fishing poles out of the way while paddling, especially in tandem mode?
Maybe the pole holders face that way so that the rods aren’t hanging out of the boat snagging trees and such while traveling down river.
Nice review, dude! I just ordered it and I'm so excited to get out on the water. Fishing trips, camping, this thing is going with me everywhere I go.
Heck ya man you will love it!
Just a word of caution, if you inflate this on a cool shady morning let some air out as the sun warms it up. This goes for all inflatables
Five years on, how has it held up?
Having had experience with both inflatables and hard shell boats/canoes, I would only consider this kind of thing if I were floating downstream in a creek or river, never paddling upstream.
Perhaps inflatables would be better than hard kayaks for hiking upstream a bit, then floating downstream to your car or your camp.
I just bought a Kokopelli raft that weighs less than 8 lbs. It's going to allow me to open up a whole new world of hiking opportunities. Nice video. Cheers from Alberta.
DUDE, your one of the people I first watched before I got into all this stuff. Your solo 3 day trip is legendary! An honor to see you in my comments.
If the pole holders aim toward the center of the kayak, if the pole falls out of the holder, it won't fall out of the boat. If the holder angles out and the pole fell out of the holder, you would lose your pole.
i think the rod holders angled in so the oars don't hit them when paddling
The holes is depth enough to safely hold the rod. I prefer the fishing rod toward the other way.
i think the rod holders are just bad design and not for trolling. MAYBE they did it that way to make them more secure though, who knows.
simple and cut-to-the-chase review. appreciate it
Thanks for the comment!
Very clear descripcións of things and a pleasant narration. Keep up the good job.
Thanks Luis!
Thanks for the review! I bought my 1 person today. 👍👊
Looks like if you sit in the back (like your didn’t in the video). Your knees would be pressing up against the fishing pole holders.
2 week BP trip, sounds amazing right now.
When I un-couple the pump from the air valves, I lose a lot of air immediately. Is that normal or should the valve lock to prevent air escaping?
I do love it when people say they would have been happy to pay more. Maybe the manufacturers or retailers will take your advice so the rest of us can benefit?????
I dunno will they?
um were i can order one like that, thank you
Link in the description thanks for watching :)
What does this Boat sell for please comment back thank you very much
Just come across this as my mate is buying one , you can drop other rod holders in the holes, like T shape , then you are at the right angle with the rod beside you !
Oh man great tip dude!
How much did Intex pay you, cos I am sold.
Also what whitewater rating it has?
Great tip Graham!
👍
Awesome video!!!! I love the review. This is my other youtube channel but I am Atlantic County Fishing. Just used the kayak the other day! Its great. Do you think it is ok to leave in the trunk during the summer or winter or u think the extreme temperatures can damage it? 🤔 (new jersey south jersey actually. And I am gonna dry it now hehe cause i agree with u it gotta be very dry for mold and stuff not to grow on it
Thanks man! Form what I have found out is we wan't to avoid storing it wet & in places that have large temperature variances. I'm going to keep mine in a sealed container this winter in my room, we live in the country & mice at times can find themselves homes in all kinds of things. Ruined a pair of camping chairs last winter lol, made a home in the seat lining.
It's an awesome yak, hey now were yak buddies!
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Yes we are! This is my channel, just beginning making videos! Thank you and hopefully, I post a review of the excursion pro soon, I have the videos but I have to edit all of them (and I am sure you know about that!). Nice video again!
Yeah this would be a much better choice or move up to an Advanced Elements
What a great idea! I was actually thinking about getting one too since last summer. I already have a raft I got from Amazon but it's a bit too big to handle, unless a friend of mine goes along with me and he rows😃 but the kayak would be much better on the river.. looking forward to some wild kayaking adventures! Bravo Will👍🌻🐾🌲🐻
I highly recommend it you would love it!
"amazon link in the description"
so can i trust this video?
The chambers are numbered. Always do the bottom first. Then the sides.
Thanks for the video and review. Is there a skeg? I would be concerned about even tracking without one.
yes two of them, one for rivers but I wouldn't take it on a river.
I seen the statement about not taking in the river . I mainly live around rivers & lakes . So you wouldn't recommend using it on the river ? @@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
Looks like the rod holders in the back are only for transportation of the rods.
Great review. Bought one. Thanks!
@Will Wild's Outdoor Adventures how have this inflatable kayak (or others you've had) held up over time & use? Any holes, leaks, etc.?
Hi - how many pounds of pressure do you put in the 3 chambers - I can't find that anywhere. I blew it up but have no idea what the pressure should be.
Good question I'm not near the boat atm but the pump it comes with you want to pump it up tell it's in the green if I can remember right.
Great video, you could narrate professionally.
Fantastic review, thank you; most helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi your kayak is for one or two people?
Hi, this would b for two or one
✌👌
Get a reversible air pump and you can suck the air out
One of the best moments was looking at seals? (c: I love Seals!
I do love Kissed from a Rose
Nice video! I can see this being used this summer! Great review!
Oh yeah man it's coming for sure!
Thanks for the video. I have the K2 and have not used it yet but can't wait
Your welcome John, the K2 is also a ton of fun
