The thing is that when cops respond to robbery or burglary alarms, they usually have their siren turned off. They’ll usually just flash the lights but not the sirens for a second and cross. Same with fights. Some departments only allow the officer to have a code 2 response but most would cut through lights because someone might get hurt. You don’t want an injured person or a barricaded suspect with hostages.

Fun fact: if an unmarked police vehicle is attempting to pull you over, you are allowed to not pull over and call 911 to confirm that it is a legitimate traffic stop. I mean, use your 5th amendment rights all you want. If you get pulled over by a traffic infraction, greet the cop, give whatever they need to identify you, and you might be let off on a warning (depending on your record).
You also need to state that you’re experiencing your 5th amendment rights:. Just sitting there silent is not enough, “Sorry sir, ma’am , I don’t answer questions “

What I was taught ( what I taught my self). 1. Pull over 2. Put your hands on the deck of your car. 3. If they ask for your ID ( the safest choice) you might want to ask if you can get out the car, and get your ID ( so they don’t think your pulling out a weapon.) 4. If asked to step out the car, (JUST STEP OUT!) no attitude needed. Try not to argue. Just answer every question they might have. And listen to what they are telling you and follow the ‘rules’. 5. If you are asked to step in the police car, you always have the right to remain silence. These are my Self Taught Police ‘Amendments’.
PinkWarrior 051 you have the right to be silent the second they start asking you questions. Probs not the best to say “lawyer” when they say you know why I pulled you over? It’ll just escalate things
Another side of this is the fact that there are rude cops out there that forgotten the laws that they are supposed to enforce and the Constitution rights of the people they are supposed to protect. For example, there is a video on RUclips of a person explaining how the Supreme court ruled that filming in public is legal, the ride cop said "I don't care what the Supreme court ruled!" he should have been fired there right on the spot.

As someone who works for a police department (I’m not an officer), if the police want to stop you they will. You can be stopped for a license plate light, something hanging from the rear view mirror, a cracked windshield, driving below the speed limit, failure to maintain lane (even if your tires just touched the double yellow line), driving in the left lane without passing someone (failure to keep right), throwing a cigarette out the window and the list goes on and on. I’ve seen these simple infractions lead to arrests because once you technically violate the law, they have a right to stop and identify you. You can have warrants, have drugs in the car, Smell like alcohol etc
Being stopped by a cop is like being approached by a robber. 1) remain calm 2) don't make any sudden moves. 3) don't resist 4) comply and you may make it out alive.
Here in Belgium, when you refuse a breathalizer, not only are you taken to jail to spend the night there, they also call a doctor to take your blood to see if you're over the legal alcohol limit. If you refuse that, it's defenitely gonna go in front of court later on.
The prejudice civillians get from the court when facing a officer is pretty rough imo though Edit:and on the road or street anywhere really but it all depends on the person behind the badge not the badge itself when curruption is rife things dont go as they should Thats anything in this world sadly though *coughs* "corporations"
If a cop says, "you look suspicious!" Then ask, "of committing, having committed, or about to commit a crime?" If you're sure the answer is no, challenge the cop then! Other tips: *Cops are able to look inside your car from the outside. This is known as plain-view doctrine. However, any search that seems intrusive does violate the 4th Amendment. And this includes cops putting their hands in your pockets. *You have a right to remain silent, AT ALL TIMES! It is not your job to help a cop perform an investigation! *Freedom of Speech! You can say ALMOST whatever you want! There are a few exceptions to Freedom of Speech. Gone are the days when cops can arrest people or demand respect just because people are rude to them. People now know their rights, including Freedom of Speech. *Freedom of the Press! If you can legally see it, YOU CAN LEGALLY FILM IT! You know, dash cams and Google Maps! Freedom of the Press is a right to all Americans, not just those who work for large news media outlets! *Police departments have Codes of Conduct! If you think a cop is violating their own Code of Conduct, challenge them!
Actually, depending on the situation and state you're in, officers can be issued a warant to tear apart your vehicle if there's a high suspicion of illegal objects in your vehicle, but this will normally be a result of a k-9 unit sniff-searching the car
What if you are pulled over at night and have a special needs passenger who has seizures as a result of strobe lights, can you request that they turn the lights off or the stop be moved to a location where they are unnecessary so that the passenger doesn't have a seizure and need to go to the hospital?
fyi you need to say you ask to use your fifth right, you can t just stay silent, you have to verbalise i plead fifth amendement and wish to remain silent. Also, you have to answer to any lawful order and even to unlawful ones. You can argue in court afterwards if it was not lawful but you must at each order as them explicitly if this is an order. If it is a request, that means they don't have the right to ask. If they say it is a lawful order, film it, comply and then go to court if it was not. All cases, I think a dashcam or your phone on recording video / audio might be a good idea.
In Pennsylvania you can make a legal U-turn to avoid a DUI checkpoint if you don't want to go through it. It went to our states Supreme Court in 1999 (Commonwealth v. Scavello). You just need to make sure you signal properly.
There are challenges to the topic of refusing a drug dog search on the basis that a dog can be trained to "signal" for a drug smell by the handler, which thusly gives officers to search the vehicle anyway regardless of no consent given by the driver. It's happened to innocent people, and on top of that, there are times officers "find" drugs in a car, when the driver clearly knows, for 100% fact, that there was no drug in their car to begin with. there is proof that cops plant drugs, videos have been out proving that for some time.
Kyouko Toshino you only really need to roll down one window. And I get it if you don’t know how to speak/insane social anxiety. But just talk to the cop. It’s just like any other conversation.
Only one window should be rolled down. Turn off the engine. Place your hands a reasonable place (not in a glove department, pockets, or any where that looks suspicious af). And talk to the police like a normal person would do, that'll most likely get you a warning instead of a ticket/arrest. Just don't say anything incriminating
I get followed and pulled over all the time by the police. First they say "you have a warrant for your arrest" which turns out not be true, then they change their story and makes up some lame excuse and says "I stopped you because your clear coat of your license plate is starting too peel, which also is not true. I get "warnings" every time, but it does get annoying every time when the cops follows you because they are bored or something, maybe because I use to drive pass by a police station everyday.
Whether or not the cop's wrong it's best to do as they say, keep your anger inside, and fight it in court later if you disagree. You're not going to win an argument with an officer on the roadside. It'll only make things worst for you (get charged with more crimes or the officer might get violent in extreme cases) and it may make you look bad to the court, making it harder for you to win your case.
Do you panic if you see the police lights flashing behind you? What's on your mind then?

So I *can* use my fifth amendment rights and not say anything to an officer when they pull me over, but it's not recommended because it might escalate the situation?
That says a lot, and absolutely none of it is positive.
They lie
Say you’re speeding
THE GRUMPY DRAGON but that can’t be proven in court so it doesn’t matter 🤷🏻♂️ Would you lie for something if you knew you would get caught every single time? Exactly...
Ninja1inblack your comment is very aggressive I wasn’t saying anything about court Just expressing a truth the police do this to pull individuals over. So chill and pull that corn cob out
Just plead the fifth that’s what i recommend.
THE GRUMPY DRAGON well radar can show evidence but if you feel they are lying ask for a supervisor
Cop pulls me over
Me: jumps into back seat
What not to do if pulled over:
1. Refuse to show licence and registration.
2. Admit fault.
3. Be black.
I like the Infographics Show. Do you have a version for the black community?
What I was taught ( what I taught my self).
1. Pull over
2. Put your hands on the deck of your car.
3. If they ask for your ID ( the safest choice) you might want to ask if you can get out the car, and get your ID ( so they don’t think your pulling out a weapon.)
Hugh G. Rection yah.
And let the white cop touch you?
Another side of this is the fact that there are rude cops out there that forgotten the laws that they are supposed to enforce and the Constitution rights of the people they are supposed to protect. For example, there is a video on RUclips of a person explaining how the Supreme court ruled that filming in public is legal, the ride cop said "I don't care what the Supreme court ruled!" he should have been fired there right on the spot.
6:02 That just sounds like kink shaming if rope and handcuffs say that message to law enforcement.
North Koera : gets shot for running a red light
Person : but I dont have a car
When a cop stop you tell him that his badge fell off and *_RUnnnnnn_*
In Michigan we close a Rode because it was under construction and not really a road anymore.
Next time go over felony stops. It is an interesting concept that few actually understand. If you need verification HMU.
4:37 "if you have a suspecious bludge in your pants" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
cops just pull random people over for no reason and say "suspicious activity"
I got pulled over once for having snow on my back window that was only wiped off by the wiper blade. This was deemed too much snow.
@@froggyplatypus That's valid, Snow flying off your back window or roof can distract the drivers behind you who were not too lazy to clear off their car.
@@froggyplatypus That's a valid stop. It's not a ticket able offense but a stop that comes with a warning. If they deem that something is dangerous without the driver's knowledge, they'll pull them over, inform them, and let the driver go
Tiffany Ulloa yes my officers have abused this but i apologize and hope you start asking for a supervisor or use Miranda 1 you have the right to remain silent
@@froggyplatypus valid pull over it can distract drivers and block view , most of the people in this comment section are prob those big brain blue man baddddddddddddddddd people
As someone who works for a police department (I’m not an officer), if the police want to stop you they will.
1) remain calm
2) don't make any sudden moves.
3) don't resist
4) comply and you may make it out alive.
Michael Robertson ok don’t compare us to robbers please
And 5,let the white cop put his hands on you, right Mike, the onus is always on us,never on the white cop?
Only in the USA.
Here in Belgium, when you refuse a breathalizer, not only are you taken to jail to spend the night there, they also call a doctor to take your blood to see if you're over the legal alcohol limit. If you refuse that, it's defenitely gonna go in front of court later on.
The prejudice civillians get from the court when facing a officer is pretty rough imo though
Edit:and on the road or street anywhere really but it all depends on the person behind the badge not the badge itself when curruption is rife things dont go as they should
Thats anything in this world sadly though *coughs* "corporations"
If a cop says, "you look suspicious!"
Then ask, "of committing, having committed, or about to commit a crime?"
If you're sure the answer is no, challenge the cop then!
Other tips:
*Cops are able to look inside your car from the outside.
As far as I'm concerned "you look suspicious" doesn't require any sort of response
Early, and love ur vids.
Thank you! ♥
Actually, depending on the situation and state you're in, officers can be issued a warant to tear apart your vehicle if there's a high suspicion of illegal objects in your vehicle, but this will normally be a result of a k-9 unit sniff-searching the car
Problem is cops will pretend that their dog was alerted by something
A cop pulled me over and said "Papers" Then i said scissors and drove off. I think he wants a rematch since he's been following me for the past hour.
3:27 lol that guy is in love with that officer
What if you are pulled over at night and have a special needs passenger who has seizures as a result of strobe lights, can you request that they turn the lights off or the stop be moved to a location where they are unnecessary so that the passenger doesn't have a seizure and need to go to the hospital?
Then don’t look at the lights
@@infiniteblue895 brilliant genius can you come up with a better one
fyi you need to say you ask to use your fifth right, you can t just stay silent, you have to verbalise i plead fifth amendement and wish to remain silent. All cases, I think a dashcam or your phone on recording video / audio might be a good idea.
duh everyone knows that you *start recording..*

"I do not participate in your laws"
I don't understand but 100 lile
In Pennsylvania you can make a legal U-turn to avoid a DUI checkpoint if you don't want to go through it. It went to our states Supreme Court in 1999 (Commonwealth v. Scavello). You just need to make sure you signal properly.
Here in America we carry day old donuts to mellow out obnoxious cops.
Bad cop
No donut!
This helped me so much! Thank you!
21 Thavage except for some incorrect pars
The K9 is taught to always alert even when there’s no drugs in the car!
Don’t build a 1x1 and try to double pump them
PinkABlink cuz they have tfue
Drivers need more rights!!
Roll down all windows, turn on dome light, hands on wheel, say nothing except name address and birthday
@Niklas S
I ain't going in alive! 🔫
One time my dad was pulled over for "driving to perfectly" and the cop was suspicious of drugs
I haven't heard any laws against "driving too perfectly" so his reasoning is insufficient
@@thakraken6995 cut to 8 years later our county is under investigation for corrupt cops
Future video detailing how "sovereign citizens" are not legally protected?
In L. A. WERE ALWAYS MATCH AS CRIME SUSPECT
Works like 50% of the time for me but I usually just tell the truth. Got me out of a lot of speeding tickets.
agree
If you have that many speeding tickets take a driving course

I feel drivers need *more* rights, like the right to know the exact warrant for a legal charge....
