@@genehunsinger3981 It’s funny, “welp” started for me like 6 years ago as one of those words that I was using kinda of ironically, like half making fun of it. It seems after a few years I sorta just started using it for real. 🤷🏻♀️
But tell your wife, any word is a word when is used by others and the listeners understand the meaning. Every year new words get added to the dictionary, so if she determines a word as only being valid if it’s in the dictionary then there are tons of words that weren’t words one day, and the very next day, boom! It’s a word.
I could throw in a little “gotcha” for you to pose to her. Every year there are also words removed from the dictionary, so are those suddenly NOT words now? Just something interesting to think about.
You can probably tell I have some strong thoughts on language. And I also enjoy playing with it in unconventional ways, like changing past tense words in opposite ways. Like lent becomes lended, thought becomes thunk, or dreamed/dreamt (both currently valid as we are in a active transition from the old way to the new) becomes dreameded. I also like to keep the basic conjugation rules that a new English speaker would probably use or kids, like when they start to catch on the added ED makes a word past tense, so like “I goed to the store” instead of “went”.
(Admittedly, these are kind of lame examples and I’ve probably ever only used one or 2 of them, they just come naturally to me in conversation. Making up direct examples is actually suddenly a bit hard, but I’m sure you get the picture)
Oh! Wait! My favorite one I actually have used for years “differenter”. It means beyond different, even more different than would be expected. So far no one has failed to grasp the meaning when used in normal speech, but of course, I do get comments on my odd words. (But I always know there’s a time and a place for such language play)

"Welp" has been in use since at least the early 1990's. I first saw it used in a comic called "Hate" by Peter Bagge.

@@mattcintron6372 definitely, but it still feels kinda like an "oof" moment -- it's not like the characters' mouth movements need to change (not even South Park level), so you'd think they'd have just changed the verb tense and mentioned the Queen's passing.
According to the challenge videos, the scripts are written up to 6 months before the release of the actual video.
Money channels like this have uploads pre-scheduled upto a month in advance to keep those dollars flowing. They don't care about accuracy.

I've actually called the white house line to report a threat to the president and once for a candidate. The response from the secret service was immediate. They took down the info, and followed up with me after. Very thorough. The fun part was watching them arrest the person who made the threat.

Queen Elizabeth II and now King Charles III are mostly protected by the police, albeit a specialist unit called Protection Command and formerly Royal Protection. Unusually for the UK, all these officers carry firearms. Thereon, at larger events, MI5 officers and special forces soldiers are engaged to walk anonymously within the crowd or to place snipers on rooftops. That said, she is as not as controversial as one may think and the risk is much less many world leaders.
You forgot to mention the time the queen left her room to go visit one of her horses, she was found outside and nearly tackled till they figured out what was.

One thing was kinda confusing. You indicated the number of Secret Service employees. Their original purpose was to protect the currency against counterfeiters. The executive protection duty was added later. Was the number you cited the whole outfit or just the executive protection detail?

The security on the aircraft used as Marine 1 is absolutely insane. I was stationed at K16 when Trump came to Korea, and they took our hangar space. Even when parked and empty, they have guards standing right next to them, guards off to the side, and at least one "malligator." Anyone trying to sabotage those birds, would 100% fail.

There is a rather large error. The Queens guard (now Kings) is mostly ceremonial. They dont really do much actual protecting, although they would respond if needed. The main protection comes from the Metropolitan police. They will be the ones doing the actual protection of the royal family, performing convoy's when they travel and responding to intelligence of any threat. not the army, which is where the Royal guard unit is from.
